Rafael and Mynor came out for my annual cleaning. Ordinarily, I alternate between burning Duraflame logs and piñon or juniper wood. OH MY GOSH! The amount of soot and creosote these gentlemen cleaned out of the chimney was far, far more than what I've seen come raining down on the other annual cleanings. FAR MORE! It was just a fire waiting to happen. Additionally, they are not kidding when they say they get up on the roof for a visual inspection of the chimney exterior, cap, etc. They took pictures and were able to show me where routine weather wear was taking its toll on one side. They resealed the ring and chase so now I am relieved there won't be any water intrusions or other issues. Finally, and this is all important, they were both very, very careful to protect the cream limestone surround and were constantly cleaning, vacuuming and even holding the vacuum hose to catch and prevent any soot from raining down and floating out of the fireplace while they were scrubbing. They even found some small specs of silicone that had stuck onto the limestone from prior work (it looks like silicone the builder had used when installing the mantle) when they were examining the stone under a bright light. The work was through, intense and they left the area immaculate. I'm thrilled and relieved all at the same time. Both gentlemen were thoroughly professional and kind.
