We reserved a table at 5 oāclock Somewhere for a date night while visiting the Lake District, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. Al, who runs the bar, was a fantastic host ā friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about great wine. The selection was excellent, and the charcuterie board paired beautifully with what we tried.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with great music and lovely dĆ©cor that make it easy to relax and enjoy the evening. Itās exactly the kind of place you want to find in Kendal ā intimate, stylish, and run with real care. Highly recommend!
A visit to 5 o'clock somewhere is always a treat. The atmosphere is so warm, welcoming, and charming, with really cool decor, comfy seating, and huge windows that offer great views up the cobbled streetāall coupled with the perfect playlist in the background.
But what really sets the bar apart is the wine list, which is constantly changing and offers fascinating choices from unexpected regions. And the staff are exceptionally attentive and knowledgeable; they always know how to advise you on the perfect selection. A special shout-out to Aliceāher wine tasting events are a brilliant night out and highly recommended!
Went in here for first time last night with my husband and what a find! Brilliant selection of wines. We didnāt eat but enjoyed seasoned almonds. The place was ambient, lit by fairy lights and soft lighting, with solid wooden tables. We received a warm welcome and were well looked after. Will be back to do a wine flight and try a cheese board.
We had the absolute best wine tasting by Alice the day before our wedding. Alice & team couldnāt have done more to accommodate our private wine tasting. We ordered food in advance, all of which was delicious, and the wine tasting itself was a great mix of fun, informative and boozy. We had the best time and I wouldnāt hesitate visiting again and recommending 5 o clock somewhere to all. Thank you again for such a lovely afternoon!
A wonderful wine bar with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. I booked a large table for some birthday drinks on a Sunday night as this is one of my favourite spots. Always something new on the drinks menu and plenty of choice (including soft drinks and non wines). Everything was perfect and we were made to feel incredibly welcome. Al was brilliant and kept checking in on us throughout the evening. It was a lovely night, thank you!
Visited with my partner for Valentine's day and had a fantastic time! Wonderful atmosphere and a tremendously decorated space! Very cosy yet elegant. Lovely, charismatic staff who are very attentive and great at making you feel welcome! And of course great food and drink, at reasonable prices too! Definitely worth a visit š„°
