The servers and busboys were very nice, and the food was delicious. However, the owner, Joanna, showed no smile the entire time. She was sitting down, yawning while polishing glasses, and when I asked for the check, she didn’t even say “thank you” — she just tossed it onto the table.
When I asked for her name, her attitude suddenly changed, but by that point it was already too late. First impressions and basic respect toward guests should not depend on whether someone asks who you are.
I brought my wife and children there for Mother’s Day, expecting a special experience, but instead we left feeling very disappointed. Being tired is understandable, but neglecting basic hospitality and treating guests this way is something a restaurant owner should seriously reconsider.

Hi TK. I’m sorry that you left with that impression of me that was never my intention nor is it the norm. It was the end of a very long day and yes I was sitting down while polishing the glasses as it was the first time I was able to sit all day. I was in a tremendous amount of pain so if I wasn’t overly smiley or energetic I would hope there could be a little grace instead of judgement and yes I was exhausted also….No excuses but I am also human. I may not have thanked you when I brought the check to your table but I certainly DID NOT throw it on your table. You weren’t there when I brought the check back to the table to be signed and I asked your wife how everything was this evening and thanked her for coming in. As I normally do for all my guests when to return the check to be signed .
