In late November 2025, I suffered a rare capitellar fracture after being pushed in a mosh pit. Before surgery, my surgeon told me it was a significant break and that there was a chance I may lose feeling in the arm or have other significant complications post-surgery. In late March 2026, my surgeon cleared me for full duty at work and said the progress I had made in physical therapy was amazing. Citing that he only saw injuries as severe as mine about twice a year, he indicated that most do not make such a strong recovery. I contribute my successful recovery not only to my surgeon, but also to Dr. Ryan Fenton and his team of doctors at 1 on 1 Physical Therapy, who graciously took me in within 48 hours of having my cast removed. Over the following weeks, this team worked with me tirelessly, providing muscle work and exercises to help me regain full range of motion and control of my arm. The entire time they were friendly and attentive to my needs, ensuring that I would be able to enjoy the same activities I did prior to the break. It was such a great experience that I actually looked forward to my appointments and will miss seeing the doctors. I highly recommend this place for any physical therapy needs. I would give more stars if I could. Ama has helped me with several different issues over time: back&foot, jaw/neck and most recently an acute knee injury. She knows a breadth of techniques (including dry needling and cupping) and has knowledge of eastern and western practices, which I very much appreciate being able to integrate. Initially I came in for what I was told was an arthritic big toe - she was able to determine that some of my limited range of motion was due to nerve impingement further up in my back, not the arthritis (which turns out is mild). Working with her, I was able to regain enough range of motion to walk normally pain free (huge!) Ama is able to feel and see amazing things in the body including noting where my breathing was constricted, which I had never noticed. I highly recommend her and it seems like all the therapists there are quite skilled. I’ve used insurance, but I’m currently self-pay which I find to be a reasonable option for the benefits continuing to work with 1 on 1 brings me.

The only unfortunate part of my journey to take care of my plantar fasciitis is that it took me too long to find 1 on 1 PT. After a series of treatments with Alex, I just walked for almost an hour and a half without pain! He knows what he is doing and the exercises he has taught me will help keep my foot healthy. Positive vibes all around for the staff and the facilities, too.

I had a left hip replacement surgery a little over 6 weeks ago. This clinic at 15 Possum Trail is absolutely stellar! Ryan, Mary Grace and the rest of his team have been incredibly helpful, professional, compassionate and understanding with their care and recommendations! I have been to several different practices here in Asheville throughout the years with different challenges, and this team wins my vote hands down! Their knowledge, explanations and expertise have been so helpful! I would highly recommend that if a person requires physical therapy, that they choose to come to this practice. It is also important to note that they accept insurance but also offer great rates for patients without it. After some of my past mediocre experiences, including home health by a different company post surgery here in Asheville, I am delighted to have followed the recommendation of a friend who suggested I come here for my follow up outpatient therapy! It has been well worth it! I have made great progress in my recovery!

I can’t say enough great things about 1-on-1 Physical Therapy. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years, which really says it all. When I first started, I saw Ryan, the owner, for serious neck disc issues, and the help I received was life-changing. I've been to several PT places in the area for past sports injuries and this is now my favorite. I've seen Ryan for a knee injury and neck pain and he has helped me tremendously with both. The experience, one-on-one attention, and full hour of time really set this place apart. Plus there is a warm, friendly vibe - you can always tell when people actually enjoy where they work and who they work with. Cannot recommend enough!

I can't express enough on how pleased I am with the professional and compassionate treatment I received through my three months of physical therapy with One-on-One after my knee replacement ssurgery. Ama was my primary PT, and she was great. In addition to the PT, I complained of dizziness and vertigo. She knew exactly what to do and after only one session, no dizziness. WOW! I highly recommend Ama, or any one of the other PTs. They're all super.

I worked with MG and Alex. Both are great listeners to fine tune their work at each session. Their PT skills are exceptional. The model for providing care at 1 on 1 PT works best for me. Your PT provides therapy with you alone during your allotted time. Your therapist is not responsible for multiple clients at once, as is the practice at many PT offices these days.
