Previous review was deleted? The Check up Checkmate Fiasco Long story short - I discovered my heart medication prescription would not be renewed without first having a check-up. I immediately made the appointment when I learned of this but it was scheduled a month out. I had no medication and figured the Doctor would write a temporary prescription (about 20 days) to get me through until the required check-up. Nope. I've made 4 calls, 4 messages on the Klara app, and 4 in the patient portal. I am still no closer to resolving the fact that I am out of heart medication. A nurse told me to take the medication consistently and never to skip doses due to the risk of a stroke. But I have to go without, perhaps, until I get the check-up. No one can say whether the doctor will eventually write a temporary fill. Had I known a check-up was required, I would have made the appointment in advance. Still, even if it was on me to understand the protocol, the response to deal with the mishap has been bad. They have no solid process for escalating a situation. It seems more like -- "hey this is your problem -- we'll see if the doctor can do anything". In the mean time, I hope I am not at risk for anything.

The Required Check in Checkmate Fiasco CVS informed me I had no refills available for my heart medication. I called DMC PC and learned I was overdue for a check-in to renew the prescription. I immediately made an appointment, but it was a month in the future and I was out of medication. I assumed they would write a temporary prescription given I made the appointment and apologized for not being aware of the required check-in visit. Well after spending most of day trying to get the prescription -- (3 calls, 3 portal emails, 3 Klara app messages) I still never got the temporary script and still don't know if I will. A nurse told me to never stop taking the medication due to the risk of stroke. So obviously it's a concern. However, I feel that they are blaming me for not making the appointment that I was unaware was required. It's like "maybe" the Doctor will write a temporary prescription. Geese thanks guys, it's only my heart -- yeah nail me to the cross for being unaware. I am not stupid, lazy, or difficult. I was simply unaware of the requirement. i would have made the appointment well in advance had I known. Great care.
