I think I had really hyped this place up, so I’m not sure it lived upto the hype in my head.
This place has a really good menu, I do think I will come back and try it again but it was ok first time around.
I got the waffles and chicken, it was all just a bit dry, could have done with a lot more sauce/hot honey or whatever it was, flavours were good though.
A friend got the s’mores French toast - which was disguised under the name blueberry pancakes on the online menu hahaha, so she did think she was getting pancakes but the description did describe the s’mores.
Anyway small issue, s’mores was good but extremely sweet so only recommend if you have a mad sweet tooth coz it’s a decent portion.
I think I would also like to try the bake house I saw some good looking treats in there.
Staff were lovely and service was good, will give another try I think.
Hi, food was great but seating was a let down. all the tables and menus were dirty i didnt want to touch them. please clean them up so i can come again pls!

Hi Yasmina, sorry for this we have been extremely short staffed the past few weeks and doing the best we can to service all tables as quickly as we can! All team have been spoken to, to make sure this doesn’t happen again!
Absolutely insane that there's no table water. Replies to other reviews mention that it is unhygienic to fill water bottles in the same sink as dishes are washed. If that's the case, should I be eating off of your dishes?? Where does the water for the coffee machine come from, why can't some jugs be filled up from there?? All else failing, just Invest $5 in 10L of spring water from Coles and fill some jugs for table water that way. God knows the prices are high enough to justify it as an inclusion.
Food was fine, eggs were done well, (at $19.40 for the cheapest brunch item I would hope so) I just can't get over a Cafe not offering table water.

Hey Nat, thanks for the review. Once explained to one of your party members why we don’t do table water, she seemed to be fine with it. There is nothing wrong with the plates 😂 we rinse our plates before we put them through the dishwasher which sanitises them before we reuse them. The water for the coffee machine is plumbed in and I would have been happy to answer all of these questions in person if you just asked. It’s a completely different water system straight from water source to the machine no taps on it. If you would like water filled in the same sink size that you have at home where we rinse our dirty dishes you are more than welcome too. We believe and so does the health inspector that it is not hygienic enough to fill jugs for water for our customers. That is why it is called a ‘ dish washing area ‘. Thanks the suggestion to buy the 10L waters from Coles and fill jugs. What you don’t understand with that is that it means theres extra labour, the cost of the water which you wish for us to buy and pay for is now being given away for free and we as a business are at a loss before we even start just for a cup of water. As everyone does in 2025 - they bring their own water bottles. It’s pretty uncommon these days to leave the house without one for all generations.
Thanks for explaining that the prices are high, have you brought groceries lately? The price of eggs? Milk? I am more than happy to break down the cost of everything the table ordered and why it cost that much. Ordering from the table also has a Bopple fee which wouldn’t have been paid if ordered from the counter.
If you would like to have a chat further into this please give us an email at info@yawfoods.com.au

Food was okay but wouldn’t come back. We ordered yaw benne and waffles&fried chicken. The portions were big so that was good.
Tables were untidy and compared to its location (street noise) prices were too high.

Hey Ave-Ingrid,
Thanks for the review, we are sorry the meals were just okay, we would have loved to fix them to make them better for you if we got the chance while you were still here! We would also like to apologise that the tables were not up to standard sometimes we are quite busy and try our best to get there. We have been short staffed with flu season with the change of weather lately but we do try our best to get to every table asap. As for the price of the items unfortunately just because of the noise from local traffic doesn’t mean we can discount our product. If we could we would but unfortunately with the cost of ingredients that is why the prices are what they are. It’s the same when you go to buy groceries we are all going through it at the moment especially the hospitality industry. I am more than happy to break down why items cost the way the do especially with eggs as of late if you buy eggs you would know the demand and how much supermarkets are charging it’s the same for us as our suppliers pay the same to get them. It’s all a ripple effect.

Uncleaned tables. Ordered a pork belly Sanga, which was below average. Very bland in taste. Overpriced for the presented quality. Won’t recommend this place.

Hey Brian, if you would like to give us a call - 49531918 or email - info@yawfoods.com.au we will organise a refund for you. We are sorry you didn’t like the pork belly sanga, it is usually only a brisket sanga as the pork belly isn’t cooked for this particular item that’s why it wouldn’t of been up to our standard and we do apologise for this! Would love to refund and fix it for you!
