I've returned in 2025 and stayed in the Windermere block. My room wasn't as helpful this time - 2 single beds rather than one with a desk. Curtain rail was coming off, TV had no remote, so I couldn't use it. Toilet seat was about to come off. The room looked a bit tired... Food and personnel still excellent though. Therefore, one star removed for 2025. Hopefully 2026 will it return to 5 stars. From 2024 (see photos below) - Great place, reasonably easy to find and get to. Accommodation and food was very good.

Disappointed ☺ Set out well for everything needed Cakes nice ☹ So hot everywhere. Radiators up full blast day and night Food was poor. Often cold and clearly leftovers made into other tasteless things Ran out of food on second night half way through dinner meaning we had to go out to a pub in order to get a full meal. At break times most of the coffee cups were not clean.

Ok if you have to be there… ☺ Offers standard facilities for large group meetings/conferences. Plenty of accommodation available. ☹ My room was cold despite radiator turned up to max - no spare blanket in room. I suspect that the level of insulation in the building is poor. Decor is a bit tatty with rough and ready maintenance jobs. Food is basic - cheap ingredients and not much much choice.

Exceptional ☺ Pet friendly. Food was very tasty and loved the salad bar. Good vegetarian option. Room comfortable, warm and relaxing. Would live to explore the footpaths next time

Avoid Awful experience from start to finish we arrived at 2pm to check in as was stated on our email, to be met by grumpy receptionists that it was infact 4pm! I'd driven for 4,5 hours in a bad storm , not even a smile or cuppa to be seen. Sadly unless you got there early to meals there was either no choice or nothing left to eat other than a bit of limp salad ! Porridge and soup always cold. One evening our chicken was under cooked and they said it was cos it was on the bone... sadly no other option. The scrambled egg was sadly bitter and gone off! Bar was always unattended. At the conference for several hundred people were 2 ladies loos!! The rooms were outdated and uncomfortable with rusty bathroom shelving, and no hairdryer! So save your money find a premier inn you will get more for your money rather than return home upset or poorly from food poisoning!!

Awful stay and rubbish hotel ☺ Free pool in the bar area, but no chalk for cues ☹ Noisey, uncomfortable, food was dreadful and had to go out to eat. Definitely not suited for a family stay. Beds were small, rooms are dated and hotel was noisy from 6am. Rooms are tiny. Very disappointed, paying £240 for 2 rooms and included food...but then driving to find a restaurant!

Horrendous stay Absolutely dreadful hotel - more like a uni campus full of immature adults. Noisey from 6am, uncomfortable bed, tiny and outdated rooms. Food was atrocious - only 3 options in their advertised restaurant - so bad we had to drive to another restaurant. Please avoid this venue!

Our experience as a church group was met with challenges of inflexibility with our booking process. However the General Manager Jason was helpful in meeting some of our group needs by making reasonable adjustments that were denied us by the sales team at the booking stage. I highly commended the staff at reception, Diane ( I think) and Sarah for their patience during the checking in process on Fri 31st. God bless you ladies.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry to hear you felt our sales team did not care to help you at your time of booking. Our team work hard to support our customers needs, unfortunately we had to say no to your request of booking additional bedrooms, following your additional contracted booking, not because we did not want to help you, but because we did not have any additional bedrooms available due to us being fully booked. We were also unable to assist with your request to provide twin bedrooms because they were not requested at the time of booking, so had already been allocated to other guests. We are pleased you found our manager and reception staff helpful during your stay, and we hope your church group enjoyed a positive time together. Thank you and all the best, Jane

Pleasant ☺ It was easy to reach from nearby motorway. ☹ Pillows on bed are so uncomfortable. We have been here before and the food has been excellent but the food was nowhere near as good this time, it wasn't very hot.

Handy hotel for working off site ☺ Pretty handy if you don’t know the area. Nice setting in a park and residential area. Room clean and comfortable. ☹ Kitchen wasn’t up to standard in terms of food. But half pension was included in the room price.

One of the WORST hotels I've ever stayed in. Absolutely extortionate price for such a poor quality stay. AVOID AVOID!!!! Not the worst hotel I've stayed in, but it's in the top three. #1 being in Cheshire of all places. As a room, it's on par with a really cheap budget hotel. My issue is how much money was spent on the expense. It was around the £100 mark. Which is absolutely absurd for a room which I would have felt ripped off at £35 a night! Thankfully, I was only there for one night. The only positive of the place was the friendly women who worked on the reception desk. I overheard another guest (inmate) refer to the complex as a Juvenile prison. I happily concur. After reading the reviews on the food, I decided to avoid like the plague one could suffer after eating there. I had already purchased some dinner from a supermarket as I'm in the process of a physical transformation (like this dump should go through) The bed was harder than a rock, I'd have had a far more comfortable night in a manger top and toed with the baby jesus. I slept awfully. The bath towel was the showering equivalent of 1 ply toilet paper. The television in the room was the size of an iPad and the extractor fan in the bathroom ran like a hovercraft over my head (as another guest had also commented). The smartest looking part of the room was the shower (ignoring the rusty rack behind it) The hotel is divided into 4 separate accomodation blocks, with a covered walkway between them. The inside of the accommodation block I was imprisoned inside of had the appeal of a abandoned insane asylum cross between a spooky hospital. The car park is a detour through a housing estate but isn't as far to walk back to the reception (inconvenient for lugging heavy bags if you're easily over encumbered). The gym was fine, small and limited but enough for the one night. I couldn't have left the place quicker in the morning. Thankfully, they have express checkouts boxes in the holding blocks. My complaint isn't about it being a poor hotel, it's the fact that so much money was spent to have the displeasure of staying in such a hovel. My only solace, is in the fact that I was able to write off the cost of staying there. One can stay in a village hotel for £75-£120 (depending on the timing of the booking) or a good inn/b&b. The rooms are large and spotless, the showers are luxuriant and the food holds up well. I shudder at the thought of ever staying in Yarnfield Park Training & Conference Centre ever again. The hotel is NOT some independently owned, underfunded place. It's owned by the Venues Collection. Who needs to seriously look at investing in this property. (My suggestion being demolition). YPTCC will haunt my every dream for the rest of my life. I weep into my superkingsize memory foam mattress and cry in my hot steam shower minus the rusted towel rack behind my head. I iterate, £100+ for this dump is highway robbery. £35 would be the absolute limit. I feel the masculine urge to grow a big beard and warn off travellers like some crazy medieval man on the crossroads between Hammer fell and High Rock. "TRAVELLER BE WARNED, YARNFIELD IS A PLACE OF MISERY AND DESPAIR!!!!!!!! TURN BACK I SAY UNTO YE, TURN BACK!!!!!!!!!" Stay away.
