Absolutely fantastic work. Matt is very professional, did an amazing job, and made sure we were happy with every step of the process. He has completely transformed our home in just one week! I will definitely be recommending him to my friends and family.

Super, super happy with the team’s work!! They inherited our hallway and dining/living area in a right state, and have brought it back to life. Great friendly people doing good, honest and restorative work. Thanks guys.

Very pleased with our restored parquet floor! Matt was very prompt, friendly, clean and tidy and was able to advise on the type of finish we required for our needs and even managed to get a huge scratch/gouge out that ran across multiple tiles left by the previous owners. It looks great, thank you so much!

Wow, wow, wow! Cant't recommend Matt highly enough. We moved into our house 5 years ago and inherited an engineered oak floor in our lounge which we have never really liked. Its been down over 15 years and over those years has turned very orange - the more we lived with it the more we hated it. Then, along came Matt! Over 2 days he has totally transformed it into a beautiful light oak floor, bringing out the amazing wood grain. We chose to go with an invisible finish to truly show off its lovely pale colour. The photos show it before during and after - think you will agree it looks so much better. We now love our floor and are so pleased we didn't rip it up. It looks brand new. Thanks Matt for an amazing job.

Beyond Expectations!! Matthew did an incredible job restoring my floor. He is not only incredibly skilled but also incredibly pleasant and professional to work with. He explained the entire process clearly, and he made sure I was completely satisfied with every step. My floors look absolutely amazing, and I'm so grateful for his dedication and hard work. I would give him the highest possible recommendation! He was also, very mindful of my home and kept everything clean throughout the process. I would definitely use him again!"

Matt was recommended to us by a friend having set a high bar for his quality of craftsmanship. I have high standards and expectations and he met these with ease, producing absolutely fantastic results with the restoration of our 100 year old parquet floor - is it exactly as we’d hoped. Aside from the high level of execution, Matt is also a great communicator, easy to contact and very patient, explaining everything clearly - particularly where the unknown can sometimes be uncovered when restoring old floors. We would highly recommend and are also pleased to see that our building contractor has also hired him for a large project in London.

Of all the many tradesmen I've dealt with over the years Deiter is the worst. Not because of his skills but due to his lack of honesty and integrity. Several years ago I contacted him about renovating the original victorian floor in 3 rooms of a house which was our first family home. I wasn't certain the floor would be suitable for sanding and finishing because it looked a bit rough. So he came over and had a good look. He told me it would need 3 days' work. I was happy though a little skeptikal. So much so that, a few days before the work was due to start, I got him to nip over and take another look just to be sure he was still confident. Also, one floorboard had been damaged during renovation work, but he said all I needed to do was to pay him for a replacement board. Anyway I reiterated - was he sure the floor was good enough to renovate? He reassured me it was and his exact words were "you won't recognise it when I'm finished". So... he started. Day one, he made little progess. Day two, he didn't show up and I heard nothing from him. Eventually he answered my calls (the next day I think) and told me he'd had to go to hospital to get a skin graft on his finger. I'll leave it to you to decide whether you believe him. When he came back to the house... guess what? He told me the floor was not in good enough condition to renovate. I was not surprised and was actually a little relieved. There were no hard feelings from my side. Anyway I noticed after a while that he hadn't returned my deposit. I'd paid several hundred pounds as a deposit which represented 1/3 of the quote. So I phoned him to clear it up. Guess what? He laughed, making me feel foolish, and told me that he would not return it because he had done a day's work. That's right, the day spent on a job that he'd admitted was a waste of time, and could never be completed, cost me several hundred quid. Among various other excuses he also told me that the issue was the damage done since his initial visit. As mentioned, this was to one floorboard (on a job to renovate 3 entire rooms) which I'd ensured he was shown before the job even started. Over the years I've occasionally looked to see if I could provide feedback anywhere but conveniently for him there weren't any mechanisms to do that until I saw he was on Google. How does a guy who treats a customer like this stay in business for 30 years? I suppose you do enough jobs where customers are happy and just ignore the ones you ripped off.

Dear Liam Thank you for taking the time to share your past experience. I understand this review relates to an interaction with Dieter back in 2012, prior to my involvement as the current owner of the company. Reading your detailed account from so long ago, I can appreciate the frustration and the feeling of being let down regarding the condition of your floor, and particularly the issue with the deposit. Since taking over Wood Floor Restoration Co, my focus has been on building a business based on trust, clear communication, and ensuring fair treatment for every customer. I am proud of the positive feedback I have consistently received, which reflects my commitment to these values and to providing high-quality service in the years since. While I cannot speak directly to the specifics of a situation that occurred such a long time ago and before my ownership, I want to assure you that I take all feedback seriously and are continuously striving to improve. If you would be open to discussing your experience further, I would be happy to hear more and see if there's any way we can address your concerns moving forward. Feel free to contact me at info@woodfloorrestoration.co.uk Sincerely, Matt Current Owner, Wood Floor Restoration Co

A huge thank you to Matt, owner of The Wood Floor Restoration Company. He has completely transformed our 100 year old floors from a previous mess to a work of art. Matt’s attention to detail was second to none. He identified any underlying issues below the surface and was able to carry out repairs to the joists, ensuring longevity of the floor for decades to come. The machinery he used removed all old staining on the floors and the satin varnish that was applied to finish the floors looks subtle and gives a fresh look, whilst not detracting from the natural beauty of the original floors. The cost to carry out the work was reasonable and the job was completed efficiently. If you are looking for someone honest, trustworthy and diligent, then look no further. Thank you Matt and The Wood Floor Restoration Company for such a fantastic job - we are delighted with the result.

From inception with Wood Floor Restorations, my wife and I knew we were in safe hands! After 2 attempts at laying a very tricky floor by 2 previous carpenters. Matt came to the rescue and has completed a first class job (with a floor we had given up on). The work was carried out in a very clear and meticulous manner. We were updated throughout the process and given ideas we had overlooked on previous attempts on the floor. We are very happy with the finished result - and would not hesitate to recommend Wood Floor Restorations!! 😊

Matt did our floorboards in all rooms, restoring the original boards of the house. He's done an amazing job and he was consulting with us throughout the work. We were so pleased that we also asked him to do a built-in wardrobe in our main bedroom, which is amazing. I drew the model on a piece of paper and he brought it to life adding details and sharing his ideas. Highly recommend it!

Wow...what can I say! I cannot recommend Matt and his work highly enough. We had a really orangey looking wooden floor which we hated. We looked at getting a brand new floor as couldn't stand the way the old one looked. Matt came to give us a no obligation quote and talked us through the options really clearly and explained the process and cost thoroughly. We decided to go with restoration rather than a brand new floor and we are SO GLAD we did! Matt did a fantastic job, he showed up nice and early and worked really hard, clearing up after himself and making sure we knew when we could put furniture back on the floor, etc. We came home to what looked like a brand new floor! We were so impressed and definitely made the right choice by going with Matt for the restoration. The floor looked even better once the varnish had fully dried and we couldn't be happier. Thank you so much Matt, your work is to the highest of standards and we will definitely be recommending you!

In September 2022 I engaged Dieter to sand and varnish my existing parquet floor tiles and lay matching tiles on an adjacent concreted area. He explained that the newly tiled area would not be completely level with the original floor. This surprised me. I was not particularly happy about it but went along with it anyway as he said that visually it would not show. Dieter also explained that there might be some scuffing of the skirting boards in order for the machine to properly sand the edges of the floor. However, I did not see why a thin metal plate or a sheet of cardboard could not have been placed up against the skirting boards to protect them from the machine and mentioned this at the time. As it happens, rather than just 'scuffing', the sanding machine did cause further damage to one of my newly decorated skirting boards in particular, to the point where it had gouge marks in it and was actually dislodged from the wall. Dieter denied having done this, however I know for a fact that it was not like that before as I had just had the room professionally decorated and it would have been mentioned by the decorator. When finished, the floor itself generally looked very good but unfortunately, in the area where the new tiles abutted the originals was not level to the point where I was unable to stand a chair or table successfully without it rocking. I also found that the tiles in this area had come unstuck (probably due to the different levels involved) and were moving. I called Dieter back to look at the job. He was polite and friendly and he said he would return to re-lay the new tiles. It is now January 2024 and despite numerous messages from 2022 onwards, in which he has had every opportunity to return and carry out the remedial work, he has never come back and has stopped answering my emails and yet I see from reviews that he is carrying out many subsequent jobs. This is not impressive.

We had some oak kitchen worktops that were starting to look the worse for wear. They were treated with oil but water stains and other stains were showing. Dieter got back to us with a quote really quickly. We were a little uncertain about going from oil to lacquer, but in fact it's worked out really well. It took him about 3/4 of a day to sand and treat the surfaces and he left the place spotless. Would thoroughly recommend.
