I rented through Wise Cars for pickup in Orlando. When told the rental was contracted to Routes Car Rental, we were skeptical. I paid in CDN at almost double the US value that Routes accepted. The rest of my problems were with Routes. However, I found that Wise Cars was well out of touch with the rates of the contracted agencies. All I can recommend is when you rent, make sure they actually have a location at that city. Never again.

Absolutely terrible experience with Wisecar. First, it took over two hours for the shuttle to arrive and take me to pick up my rental car. After finally getting there, I discovered that despite having already reserved and paid for the vehicle for 84 days, the process was far from over. The online agent then took another two hours just to complete the paperwork and hand over the keys. To make matters worse, I was suddenly told I had to pay an additional $390 per month on top of what I had already paid. None of this was made clear during the booking process. Had I known the real cost, I would have simply transported my own car from Ohio to Houston instead of renting through this company. By the time everything was added up, I ended up paying around $2,700 or more for this rental. Customer service was extremely unhelpful and repeatedly told me there was no cancellation policy, leaving me with no reasonable options. The entire experience felt misleading and dishonest. I would not recommend Wisecar to anyone. Be very careful and read every detail before booking.

Avoid ... they contract with predatory rental companies that offer low daily rental costs ($9 a day) but when you arrive at the location the rental company says your credit card auto insurance, personal auto insurance and even insurance purchased thru Wisecar is not sufficient and they try force you to buy their insurance for $45 a day. I walked out of the rental car company took a uber and called Wisecar. Wisecar was not helpful and said I would not receive refund. I had to file a dispute thru my credit card company.

Wisecars doesn't deserve a star. Not only did the company refuse to rent me the car I reserved because I did not have a plane ticket flying in to the airport down the road, NEVER heard of such a thing before!!!! I promptly called Wisecar customer service and they refused to give me a refund because it was FOUR MINUTES after my pick up time. They stiffed me with the rental fee and NO CAR. They are THIEVES. Will take advantage and can care less. I did fly into the airport, not on the day I rented the car. I do not live in the city I was renting this car from. And your claim that this standard was obviously noted on rental is FALSE! DO NOT FALL INTO THIS COMPANIES TRAP!!! it's a FRAUD.

The car rental company selected for your booking operates from an airport location and, for security reasons, does not rent vehicles to local residents unless they can provide proof of onward travel, such as a round-trip ticket. This policy is stated multiple times during the booking process and in the rental terms before confirmation.

As your booking was marked as a no-show after the scheduled pick-up time had passed, the reservation became non-refundable in line with the supplier’s policy. We understand this was disappointing, however the rental conditions and eligibility requirements are determined by the car rental provider and must be met at the time of pick-up.

135 EUR DE SOBRECOSTE POR TARJETE DE CREDITO CON NÚMEROS SIN RELIEVE!!!!!!!!! Servicio pésimo, pongo una estrella por no poder poner 0 estrellas, después de encontrar el proveedor con muchas dificultades en el aeropuerto, porque ni estaba indicado ni contestaban al tlf, en unas condiciones climáticas de más de 44° a la sombra con una menor y un viaje repentino motivado por un problema de salud de un familiar, nos quisieron cobrar un sobrecoste de 135 eur porq mi tarjeta de crédito no tenía números en relieve, pero esa misma tarjeta valdría para realizar el pago del sobrecoste, vete tu a entender. Desde wisecar se han limitado a decir q eso es así, pues si saben q es así porq no lo señalan en relieve ( si tan importante es porq no está en mayúsculas, en otro color q destaque o lo q sea q lo ponga más visible) en las condiciones, porq tan solo piden una tarjeta de crédito sin entrar en detalles de como tiene q ser. Una auténtica estafa, está queja aparece de manera muy reiterada porq les paso a mucha gente. En respuesta: estimada Rachel de wisecar, no esperaba menos de vuestra parte, echar balones fuera, si has leído y entendido bien mi queja ( cosa que me parece que no se ha conseguido) veras que no os responsabilizó de las condiciones pero si de la falta de información, de la falta de transparencia, vosotros sabéis que condiciones se exigen en cada país con cada empresa, pero está información no está reflejada en vuestra web a la hora de reservar. Si estoy en un error demuéstramelo, mandame donde detallan el tipo de tarjeta de crédito específica para Marruecos en este caso. Porque eso hasta donde yo se es responsabilidad vuestra ( informar ).

Nos gustaría aclarar que el requisito relacionado con la tarjeta de crédito es una política establecida directamente por la compañía de alquiler que usted eligió. Lamentablemente, no tenemos control sobre las condiciones específicas que cada proveedor aplica en el mostrador. En algunos casos, si falta algún documento o si la tarjeta no cumple con los requisitos del proveedor, la empresa puede exigir la contratación de un seguro adicional como medida de seguridad propia.

Agradecemos también sus comentarios sobre la visibilidad de esta información en las condiciones de alquiler. Tomamos nota de su sugerencia y seguiremos trabajando para que los requisitos importantes sean más claros y fáciles de identificar para nuestros clientes.

Coche Es un timo. En contra de lo estipulado en la reserva, cobraron 156€ de fianza por devolver lleno el depósito de gasolina que cuesta unos 50€ llenar. Lo devolvimos lleno el 170526 y el 270526 aún no la han abonado. Cobraron un precio por conductor adicional casi un 40% superior al que me habían dado por escrito en el chat de consulta. Todos los cobros indebidos en el momento de recoger el coche, cuando ya no hay marcha atrás. Un atraco a mano armada. He hecho una reclamación, y nada, no devuelven nada del conductor adicional y a seguir esperando la devolución de la abusiva fianza. Y el proceso de recogida, problemático. Una máquina a la que había que dar un número de reserva que no coincidía con el de Check24 y que no se nos facilitó previamente. Nada de facilidades. No repito ni lo recomiendo.

We’re sorry to hear about your frustration. The prepayment made at the time of booking and the security deposit required at pickup are two separate transactions with different purposes. The prepayment is processed by us as the booking intermediary, while the deposit is handled directly by the rental supplier at the counter and is subject to their own payment policies.

During the booking process, the rental supplier’s terms and conditions, including accepted methods of payment for the deposit, are clearly displayed and must be acknowledged before confirming the reservation. If the required documents or accepted payment method for the deposit cannot be provided at pickup, the rental supplier is unfortunately required to treat this as a no-show as per the terms agreed.

I booked a car through wisecars, and they booked Routes car rental for me. I made phone calls and had email communication with them on my booking. At no time during our conversation did they mention that Routes car rental charges 16.99 per day for the whole period when we rent their car if we even cross the state border for five minutes. When I got their to receive the car, Routes told me this. I was so surprised since I never had this issue. I called wisecar and asked for an explanation, but they insisted that it was on the fine print of the policy and there is nothing they will do to me. I ashed if I can cancel the rental, and they won't allow it. It was an obvious trap to charge their customers in advance and let them pay the surprise fee at the day of travel. Very low business ethic. Will never use them again.

When renting a car, there are many important conditions that need to be taken into account, such as mileage limits, crossing state or country borders, insurance requirements, etc... Including every detail directly on the offer page would make the booking experience extremely difficult to navigate.

For this reason, we provide the supplier’s full rental terms during the booking process and also send an Important Information email before pick-up, specifically reminding customers to review the terms and warning about restrictions such as geographical limitations that may apply.

We’ve carefully reviewed your case, and it appears that a credit card was not presented at the time of pick-up. This is a mandatory requirement set by the rental supplier, as a credit card in the main driver’s name is needed to secure the deposit for the vehicle. This requirement is clearly stated multiple times during the booking process, as well as in follow-up emails. Unfortunately, if these conditions are not met at the counter, the supplier is unable to release the vehicle.

As outlined in the terms and conditions accepted at the time of booking, failure to present the required documents results in the reservation being treated as a no-show, and in such cases, a refund is not applicable.

We understand this situation is frustrating, but our ability to intervene is limited when the supplier’s mandatory requirements are not fulfilled. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

This car rental people are FRAUDULENT, I paid for car insurance ($75) with them when booking, on getting to the check in box inside an unkempt building, I was asked to pay for another insurance ($183) more in addition to earlier insurance, for a car rate of $25/d for 4 days. I will fight them to get my refund back. Everyone I met at the office had same experience. AVOID THEM.
