Unless you like prison camps AVOID VIVA AEROBUS My son (15) was travelling with his grandparents from Cancun to CDMX. Check-in was comparable to the entry to a prison. A person that looked more like a prison guard than an airline employee required a document signed by myself to allow check-in. He actually had a notarized document signed by myself, just not the airline one. On top of that he was travelling with my elderly parents (his grandparents). And no he was not travelling to Guantanamo. My father (89) nearly had a heart attack! I strongly suggest you walk if the only alternative is Viva Aerobus. Oh by the way I gave them a chance to apologize,, and showed me that somewhere hidden deeply in their website this document existed! I live in a former Communist country, but never saw anything like that!

This airline is crap. Had a direct flight to Morelia from Chicago, flight was delayed 3 hours. On top of that, we had to make a stop in Monterrey made us get off go through customs and check back in and go through a security point. The process took another 3 hours. Never inform the passengers of what is going on or why. I called to try to get compensation and they refused to talk to me and hung up on me then finally I got someone on the phone and they were no help. They sated it was a weather issue but, no one ever explained that to us. On top of that they rummaged through the checked bags and stole goods from them. Never again, this airline sucks!

This was by far the most frustrating and disappointing experience I've ever had with an airline. The customer service team at LAX was incredibly unhelpful and left me feeling completely unheard. I had been looking forward to spending quality time with my mother in Mexico, accompanied by my two daughters, for months. This trip meant so much to me, and I had carefully planned every detail. When I arrived to check in, I was informed that I needed a notarized letter for my 13-year-old daughter. Despite having her passport and being her parent, I had never been asked for such documentation by any other airline. I was told that I could not check in without this letter. In a frantic attempt to resolve the issue, I called multiple notary services and was fortunate enough to find a mobile notary who rushed to LAX with my husband. However, the situation took a worse turn when I was not informed that the check-in area would be closing at 7:30 AM, an hour before my flight at 8:30 AM. When I explained that I was in the process of obtaining the letter and had TSA pre-check to expedite security, the agent dismissed me and said nothing could be done. They closed the check-in area as scheduled, leaving me stranded. I paid an additional $150 for the notarized letter and was told by the airline that I should call customer service for flight rebooking. Unfortunately, when I contacted customer service, they refused to help, denied me a refund, and insisted I had to write a formal letter to request any assistance. This entire ordeal was completely disheartening. It left my daughters confused and distressed, and it ruined our New Year's celebration and family plans. To make matters worse, I have sent two emails to customer service and have yet to receive a response. This experience was beyond frustrating and has left me deeply disappointed in the level of service provided. I am still awaiting a resolution and hope to hear from someone soon. The best thing I found out recently is that Alaska now flies to Guadalajara, they have always been great.

Yes cheaper, I guess you have to understand with less. Money comes cheaper service. Or unsatisfactory service. But you will be ok knowing not to expect anything other than that.

VivaAerobus provides a simple, economical, and efficiency-focused travel experience. The seats have a small configuration that makes them ideal for short-haul travel. For more comfort and legroom, travelers may choose to upgrade to Space+ seats. Because VivaAerobus is a low-cost airline, passengers may personalize their trip by choosing extra services like luggage, seat preference, and in-flight refreshments. The airline guarantees a clean and well-maintained cabin despite the simple seats. For passengers looking for convenience and value, VivaAerobus is the best alternative because to its various service choices and reasonable costs.

Delayed 7 hours and counting. Hopefully I fly some time today.... In the future I will surely be spending the extra money saved to fly -any- other airline, at any other airport. But wait there's more! We tried calling customer service and they proceeded to do the "let me put you on hold a moment" and hang up trick 3 times. Cool cool cool cool. Ok so what are our compensation options for having wasted our entire day? $30 USD. Only redeemable for food as drinks, at this airport only. You got me ffffffff'd up on this one.

This is the worst experience I've ever had with a flight. I had a connecting flight and missed the flight because the first one was delayed. No one spoke English no one assisted to help me. I had to act a damn fool in order for someone to help. They don't put what gate your flying out of. This airline is the absolute worst and it's just ridiculous they don't help you. My sister told them their other people coming they didn't care and left us. It's a total waste of time. Book with another company

To whom it may concern Trip confirmation- VF5MVT Destination - CUN- MEX Trip date- October 14, 2024 Sub: Reason for email: "Fraudulent" charges, "Threatened " by the representative, "Harassment" Hello, I traveled by Viva Aerobus on October 14th with my family from Cancun to Mexico.I am writing this mail with deep anguish, pain, and suffering by your airline representative at the check-in and baggage area. I Purchased 4 carry-on bags and check-in bag and an extra baby package the previous day. At check-in, the airline in charge mentioned that I was overweight by 2 kgs and demanded to pay 6700$ pesos. when asked for more details, he refused to give me the details of the amount for the excessive baggage. He threatened my wife, infant, and family mentioning that he would deny boarding passes to my family if I didn't pay the amount. He abused my wife and humiliated my family in front of other passengers. After paying the amount he refused to give me the receipt for the amount for the excess baggage. 1. Passenger rights: As mentioned on your website " The passenger has the right to the price listed on the ticket which includes all basic concepts, including taxes. Products and service charges may vary by route and the price breakdown details can be seen or requested during the booking process. "I was refused the receipt for the billing". 2. Extra baby package: As mentioned on your website "Infants (all passengers under 2 years of age on the date of their scheduled flight): Viva Aerobus allows a Passenger of legal age to transport an Infant at no additional cost, but the infant will not be entitled to a Seat or Baggage allowance. However, the Passenger may transport a stroller as part of their Checked Baggage and a Ticket and Boarding Pass will be issued to the infant. "I purchased an additional pre-boarding baby package. I was charged again at the check-in. This is fraudulent". 3. Threatening behavior: The airline in charge threatened my wife and caused huge mental agony to my family

Horrible experience, malicious and apathetic staff I wish I could give 0 stars. This is was the absolute wort experience I have ever had with an airline or ay business for that matter. The staff is horrendous, nasty attitude, not willing to help, don't even look at you in the eye while talking, they purposely make you miss flights and then blame you for it. They lack ALL sense of humanity or empathy. Will never use this airline even if it is the last one on earth.

VivaAerobus staff kicked a minor off the flight and said that all the seats were already taken! This has been the worst experience with the airline VivaAerobus. My son was supposed to fly from Havana to Cancun, but his flight was canceled due to Hurricane Helena. They rescheduled his for an early morning flight today, but when he arrived at Havana airport three hours before the flight, they simply did not check my son in. Despite having a ticket and an assigned seat, VivaAerobus staff kicked a minor off the flight and said that all the seats were already taken! They offered him a later flight with an overnight layover of more than 10 hours in Mexico City! Can you even imagine how a minor is supposed to handle such a flight alone? I am determined to file complaints with all possible authorities and media to prevent this situation from happening again! How could they give a child’s seat to someone else?!

Flight Attendant Stole My Wallet Viva Aerobus! My wallet slipped off my leg and into the aisle after I had pulled out my credit card out of it to pay for our beverages. I gave my wife our drinks, and went to put my card back in my wallet, and the wallet was gone. Meanwhile, the flight attendant had crouched down and rearranged some stuff in the bottom of his beverage cart. That's when he picked my wallet up off the floor and stole it. Everybody else around us was seated. These were mainly older people around me, and a girl taking care of her ill father. They didn't do it. We looked everywhere for it including in the floor space of the passengers behind us and beside us. They were all very kind about it. It was like the wallet had fallen out of the plane. It was nowhere to be found. I got a little irate and told the flight attendant that I was not so gullible and I knew what he did. I used some colorful language. And then I sat down, shut up, and drank my beverage and wondered what the hell I was going to without my wallet, my ID, most of my credit cards. About 30 minutes later, the flight attendant came back and brought me a paper stating 'Final Warning' against any further outburst, and to immediately stop drinking alcohol ( to which they didn't even bother to pick up my beer). About 30 minutes after that, we landed and everybody was told to stay seated. In a few minutes 4-5 cops came onto the plane to escort my wife and I off. We retrieved our carry-ons, exited the plane, retrieved our checked bags at the carousel and went through customs, all with a police escort. The police were very friendly to us about it all. They never cuffed me and they seriously wanted to know exactly what happened and why I had gotten angry during the flight. I told them my story. The policemen gave us a case number, and told us we were free to go. Meanwhile, other San Antonio police were questioning the flight attendants and searching THEIR belongings. And then, a police officer found my wallet in the trash of the front airplane bathroom. I received a text and was told to retrieve it at the airport lost and found, which I immediately did. All of the cash was gone, as well as one debit card. I totally appreciate the respect and the benefit of the doubt given to me by the SAAPD. IMHO, they acted like this was not the first time something like this had happened. We will NEVER fly Viva-Rob-Us again!

Avoid At All Costs Change and/or cancel flights and expect you to adapt to their whims. If you can’t make their mandated changed departure time you must pay for an alternative. Avoid this band of fraudsters.

Please direct message me if you've also had items stolen on a Viva Aerobus flight and file a complaint with the FAA and/or DOT. My passport, entire wallet, $500 USD in pesos and Global Entry card was stolen on my Viva Aerobus flight, which meant I arrived to MEX airport with no passport and was imprisoned in a filthy migrant detention camp for 15 hours. When immigration was holding me, Viva Aerobus was not responsive and didn't look for my passport until someone called them multiple times. They didn't expedite me out of migrant prison and didn't even seem sorry that I spent thousands on this trip only to be deported back to the US due to their shady/non-responsive staff. 5 stars for the gate agent who was wonderful to me after an extremely traumatic day (he had a pride lanyard and was the only person who showed empathy and kindness after I was imprisoned for being a victim of ID theft. Never in a million years did I think I'd be locked up abroad because I was a victim of a crime. To make matters worse, no flight refund and the customer service agent at lost and found told me they can't help because passengers are responsible for their belongings, the cleaners probably stole it. Another agent I spoke to said "yeah, things get stolen all the time on our planes. Lesson learned the hard way, this is my first and last time flying this airlne!

My friend and I were taking a short trip to Tulum and decided to fly Vivaaerobus because it was cheaper and considered a non international flight which we knew would make coming back though customs easier. When Microsoft caused a system shut down, we were unable to check in to our return flight. I called the airline to see what to do and they said if we were unable to be at the airport four hours early that we shouldn't go and add to the confusion but to wait for the system to come back online and then call back. I was an hour away from the airport and decided to take the advise of the airline attendant i missed my flight. I called back when the system was online and there were no more flights to get back until Monday without taking 17 hours to travel. I was assured by both attendants I spoke with from Vivaaerobus that I would be able to get a refund. When I returned home i called customer service and after an hour phone call was assured i was receiving a refund for my return flight. The attendant said if i hadn't received my refund in 10 days to call back. I called back today, 10 days later to be told I would only receive a voucher. I was on the call for over an hour and the supervisor I spoke with said there was nothing else he could do that they were only refunding flights that were international. I will never purchase from this airline again and i wont be using the voucher either. I highly suggest flying with an international flight if traveling to Mexico. This airline has been a nightmare to deal with.

Viva Aerobus airline does the job. Sometimes with delays. I found the staff to be generally helpful. I'm a silver in their rewards program. Their seats are uncomfortable on long flights. The food and drinks are ok at fair prices. I recently tried to make a reservation during the internet problems. I could not sign into my account. I had to make 2 seperate reservations instead of one. About $50.00 usd more than it should be. I sent two emails to customer service to see if they could help. I have yet to hear back from anyone. Customer service could be better. Thank you.
