Even tho TIMES SQUARE IS ALL HYPE, it was my first time ever, and I quickly realized how SIMILAR it is to DOWNTOWN LA IN CALI! Same ishhhhhh!! Some vibes!!! Same restaurants!! Very skimmy hotels tho that don't let anyone use the restrooms tho! Otherwise, it seems like people create their own lil hype down here everyday and all throughout the morning!!! Overall I didn't try any of the food hype yet and haven't visited QUEENS OR BROOKLYN OR HARLEM, so I'm only in manhattan area more so... but I'll try to come back and do the whole foodie thing again!!! Train was cool! People are young and lively! Police everywhere for safety!!

Can be Congested with Pedestrians
The. bright lights, all the theaters, the big signs advertising all sorts of things, and lots of people. Lots of people. So many that at certain times of the day, we find a way to avoid the area. Big improvement in traffic routing created some pedestrian space, that is good. This is one of the hearts of the city.

A must-see once, but keep a tight grip on the kids!
Drove down from Boston for a quick weekend with my two kids, and you just can't skip Times Square. It is exactly what you expect—brutally packed, loud, and flashing lights everywhere. As a former magazine editor, I love the iconic visual vibe, but as a stay-at-home mom, keeping track of two energetic little ones here was a special kind of cardio. Definitely worth checking out once for the iconic New York experience, but get in, take your pictures, and get out before the mid-day meltdowns start!

If you’re visiting NYC for the first time, you have to see Times Square. It’s iconic and should not be missed. However, it is worth no more than 15 minutes of your time. Incredibly crowded and full of tourist traps and homeless. You’ll find a better place to eat somewhere outside of Times Square. Try to go in the morning to avoid crowds or see the special show that is on at midnight for a different type of experience. Worth one visit, but not worth it after you’ve seen it once.

I giganteschi maxischermi illuminano la notte trasformando Times Square in uno spettacolo permanente di luci, colori e immagini. Ogni angolo sembra trasmettere energia e voglia di vivere. È uno di quei luoghi che nessuna fotografia riesce a raccontare davvero. Bisogna esserci per capire cosa si prova. Un’esperienza emozionante che rappresenta perfettamente lo spirito di New York. Assolutamente imperdibile.

Absolutes Muss für jeden New York-Trip. Leider wird die Erfahrung etwas geschwächt wegen der riesigen Menschenmengen, die sich über den Platz bewegen, sobald es dunkel wird. Wer kann, sollte den Platz auch mal am Tag oder an einem Feiertag, wie Labor Day, besuchen, um etwas mehr Platz zu haben.

It’s a nice place to visit. ‘The Crossroads of the World.’ Lots of pretty lights. Just be careful of nefarious types. DO NOT accept anything offered for free, like CDs. DO NOT converse or give $ to the phony Tibetan monks. DO NOR make eye contact with the cartoon characters. Look around, not just up. Be aware. Enjoy!

Although shunned by locals, Times Square offers 5 blocks of glitzy lights, large LED billboards, and nearly 330,000 people passing through this small corridor on a daily basis.
Here you'll find a plethora of shopping options, including no shortage of various stores hawking overpriced NY souvenirs. There are also a variety of dining options, as well as the world-famous Broadway shows. If nothing else during your NYC trip, you should at least catch a show at Broadway at least once.
This is also the site of the annual New Year's Eve ball drop, which continues to attract over a million visitors to Times Square every year. And while there is no shortage of interesting people to see at Times Square, similar to Vegas, I would avoid the costume characters before you get suckered into paying some overpriced "fee" for a quick photo op. Also be sure to avoid anyone trying to hand out any "free" items as those are all a scam.
Love it or hate it, Times Square is virtually the epicenter of NYC and something you need to experience at least once in your life.

One time visit is ok
I had seen this place in movies, series and wanted to visit. I won’t say it’s a must visit place but you can visit it once. It was little crowded though. We got a place to sit on those famous steps. If you want really enjoy billboards, visit Times Square at midnight. They have this art show from 11:57PM to 12 which is really cool. It’s true that the area around smells like cannabis as there lot of shops, but overall we enjoyed our time.
