I’m a big fan of Jongro KBBQ and have been to all of their locations in the city, but this was my first time visiting this one. We dined as a group of nine and spent around $600. While the food was good, the service was unacceptable due to what appeared to be severe understaffing. This significantly affected our experience and was disappointing, especially given how consistently good the service has been at their other locations. 12/13/25

Made a reservation for 2, arrived on time and we still had to wait for 20 minutes for a table. Ordered a San Pellegrino off the menu, I got a Polar Seltzer, waitress didn’t even give me a heads up or a warning. Meat quality was terrible. Pork Belly was mostly fat. The “Beef” steak tasted like cheap pork. We joked to each other that it’s horse meat or something even lower grade. Beef Slices were no better. The “Steak Tartare” came frozen. That was the first time in my life that has ever happened to me. No ventilation of the smoke from the grill. Even worse, no waiter came by to offer to change our grill plate to a new one. Most places we go to, they routinely change it, not here. No one came to check in on us to make sure we got everything or see if we wanted to order more. For the first time ever in our lives at a KBBQ or any AYCE BBQ, we didn’t order a second round. We just paid and left after the first. You can all find better KBBQ or restaurants in Manhattan. Don’t spend your hard earned money here. Even Kpot is better than here. I don’t usually write reviews but this was so awful that I had to warn others. This is the worst KBBQ we’ve ever been to and also in the conversation for one of the worst restaurants in Manhattan.

The service was excellent, and the staff treated us very well throughout the visit. Unfortunately, despite the great hospitality, I ended up getting food poisoning afterward. It really took away from what could have been an enjoyable experience.

I decided to go here over KPot or Gen because it’s pricier which I hoped meant it was better. This was unfortunately not the case. I mostly ate the marinated hanger steak, as it sufficed for their lack of Galbi/beef short rib (this was shocking to me, but my own fault for not checking the menu beforehand). The spicy pork was also good. The shrimp are tiny and if you like head-on shrimp, they don’t have that either. Everything else was meh and their options are limited in meats, banchan, and side dishes. They had no vegetables to grill, no lettuce for wraps, few sauce options, and (again) no Galbi. Service was quick, but one thing that rubs me the wrong way is when the tip is wrongfully calculated on the total after tax versus pre-tax. Kinda shady imo. Overall not worth going back.

Jongro BBQ was so special! They opened near Bryant Park in midtown and it was very convenient because we could walk to the park after food. Every food was so delicious and the server was very nice. It was so fresh and AYCE was definitely worth of every penny! I’d come back for the food and side dishes were amazing.

Really solid Korean BBQ AYCE spot. The meat was fresh and tasty, and they kept bringing things out quickly without much waiting. I especially liked the pork belly and marinated beef. There were lots of side dishes (banchan), and they were refilled often, which made the meal feel really generous. They also changed the grill regularly, which I really appreciated. Staff were friendly and checked on us just enough without being pushy. Overall, good value for the price and a place I’d come back to when I’m craving Korean BBQ. 👍

The meats were high quality, and the sides (especially the scallion pancakes) were just as good. Got a lot of stuff on the house, those were great as well. Our server was Sara, she recommended this new soju that was very good. 10/10 would go back

This place is another opening of the Jongro franchise off Ktown. The place offers much of the same fare, that being Korean BBQ and lunch specials for $9.99. The lunch specials are highly appreciated at this time, and they are filling. Each comes with a main, 3 banchan, and rice. The BBQ options for lunch and dinner vary widely, with lunch having less options and largely pork instead of beef. Their sides however, are delicious. Kimchijigae is highly recommended. It uses overfermented kimchi to make for a deep tasting stew. Staff usually seems to only have one person around at lunchtime, and they run around a lot to take more AYCE orders as well as from the Ala carte diners. But they do pretty well. The ventilation of the place is not the best. Sometimes they open the front door and, as the weather gets colder, you can feel it chill out the whole restaurant. Overall not a bad place to grab the lunch specials

The staffs were really friendly, and the restaurant was spotless. My friends and I had such a great time here. Especially the brisket and spicy sauce cold noodle were really delicious. Highly recommend to visit here.

Overall, it was a really good dinner with my friends. I would especially recommend the prime beef brisket and sliced pork belly. The spicy cold noodles were the best! 🙂‍↕️👍🏻 Great service and clean atmosphere!
