Good value for money food both in taste and portion size, helpful and friendly staff. Inside the decor seemed fine but could do with a lick of paint outside and sprucing up of the garden/terrace areas. We sat outside and had a strong drain smell whenever someone flushed a toilet either from the dwelling upstairs or customer toilets - not sure which and didn't hang around at that particular table to find out!
Bad experience
I went to the pub for a meal with the family, we ordered food and drink, all fine. Then 45 minutes later our food came out, looking down at the garlic bread I noticed a big black thing on the middle of my garlic bread .. it was a fly that had been cooked into my garlic bread, we gave it back to the workers and they didn’t even apologise, just said “eww” and walked away, we had a kid meal ordered aswell .. they forgot about it and when asked where it was they quickly went and made it. An hour and half we waited in the end.

Just poked my head in the Beer Garden area so my stars ⭐ or star 🌟 in this case is for that. It's like something out of the Middle East, I've seen some run down Beer Gardens in my time, but this is by far the worst I've seen the photos do it a injustice. The grub maybe OK, The Beer maybe OK, but the Beer Garden's a Rathole. In it's present state avoid The Beer Garden, if it was A kids Playground it would probably be closed down by the Council....!

absolutley dreadful place
Stay away from here , arrived in dawlish warren for our holiday and decided to walk to the front to get something to eat, this was the first pub we came to so decided to try as both was hungry after long journey, i had gammon egg and chips was ok but could of cooked better in our caravan also way too many chips these covered all the food was that many, partner had baby ribs which he said was not fresh and came out of a packet again a mountain of chips on his place, ate what we could and went to sit outside to finish our drinks. My partner went to the toilet before we left were a couple of men were in there sniffing coke !!!! they even offered him some to which he refused as he never touches the vile stuff. absolutely disgrace and there was children in there. Needs closing down ASAP definitely not what you want to walk into on holiday or at home for that matter. Will not be returning and put me off returning to dawlish warren , next time will find much classier place
Lovely pub now much more light and airy since it changed from the silly goose staff were ver polite and freindly big garden out the back and a stones throw from the beach front and amusements only negative was that the chips repeated on me for 2 days which in my experience suggets old oil in the fryer please change regularly other than that awesome drinks were slightly cheaper than the average for the area would be really nice to see the orange sweet shop (as seen in the picture) in the back garden revived and put back to use the 5yr old in me misses that little shop
Really good value for the money big portions
Really good food and portions had the lasagna best one I’ve had big portions had chips and they swapped my garden peas for a side salad my husband had the breakfast really good value for money on holiday would definitely come again when back on holiday
