Works really well within our tight budget. The countertops came out pretty nice! Had great ideas on what we could use or find places with reasonably low costs of material. And he did our floor in the kitchen, still working within our budget. A real creative person!

Seeing the same house 12 years later after doing the original Tile in the kitchen with mind blowing. Even better having the ability to remodel the same kitchen I did 12 years later for two different homeowners later is even more mind blowing. I’m love the fact that you enjoyed the remodel on the kitchen and even better that you love the tile designs on the backsplash and the countertops.
Simon, the British remodeler, is a fraud and an incompetent contractor for the type of job he claims to have decades of experience in. I met him through Facebook Marketplace. He initially offered to install new kitchen cabinets, and I added new paint and flooring to facilitate the process. The estimated cost was $12,400, and the job was expected to be completed in three weeks.
He started the job right after Christmas (December 26th) but left my place unfinished halfway through, around five weeks later (February 6th). He was consistently late and left early, showing a lack of organization. He overpromised on the project but failed to deliver on his promises. The basic skills he lacked were evident in the work he did. Paint and stain splatters and scratches were all over the new flooring and my brand-new appliances. He didn’t seem to care about his clients’ property.
He kept complaining about being broke while being paid. Finally, he brought in help when he realized he had screwed up and couldn’t finish the job he had accepted on time after the fourth week. I had to hire someone else to finish his job and tear up the new flooring because it was installed on an uneven surface. The new flooring was a disaster. He installed it without removing the baseboards and added new baseboards on top of the existing ones to hide the poor craftsmanship.
I was supposed to move in by February 1st, but it’s now February 16th, and I’m still in my old rental where the lease has already expired. I paid him a total of $11,000+ in addition to the cost of cleaning and removing the old carpets and demolishing the kitchen cabinets because he wouldn’t do it. Because of him keeping the place dirty and unorganized, the new flooring has scratches and dust that don’t even come off after moping and vacuuming many times.
He never finished one job. One minute he was painting, and the next minute he was doing something else. I will definitely report him to the BBB and take further action to be compensated for all the damages he caused during this renovation. He has blocked me in every social media platform. I’m here to warn people about him and his unethical business practices. I’ll post pictures of the job he did at my place so you can decide whether to hire him for any job at your house.please view the most recent photos to look at the damages and his work. I’ve heard from others who worked with him that he’s done this to many people. It will cost me extra $3,500 to $5000 and extra week to redo everything he’s done. If you’re thinking of hiring him to remodel or any kinds of work, please do not do it.

Why are you talking like you even finished the job? You abandoned this Job halfway. I repainted, reinstalled the flooring, restained the kitchen cabinets and the countertops and installed the backsplash.I can care less about your mosaic you did. Return all my money for the work I had to do and the damages you caused to my brand new appliances and you can take your mosaic back. It took me additional month to finish the remodeling. I haven’t filed a lawsuit against you yet but that’s because I’m busy with my business so don’t get to comfortable. You told me that it will take 3 weeks to a month and you worked 2-3hrs/day. All I can I tell you is Do better and be better and stop with this type of business practice.

_Thank you for sharing your experience. I take every concern seriously.
I want to acknowledge that the project timeline did extend beyond the original estimate, and I understand how stressful that was — especially with a planned move-in date. That's not the experience I want any client to have.
Regarding the specifics: the agreed scope changed during the project when additional work was added, which affected both the timeline and complexity. When communication broke down, I made the difficult decision to step away rather than continue in an unproductive environment. I remained available by phone and email throughout.
I want to be clear on a few points: every review on my profile is from a real client, my portfolio photos are of actual work I've completed by hand, and I have never conditioned completing work on receiving a review.
I genuinely regret how this project ended. If you'd like to discuss a resolution, I'm available at 719-521-8312.

Simon Beams, also known as The British remodeler, cost us double what we paid him ($11,400)for a kitchen remodel, new paint, and flooring. Despite his initial promise of a three-week completion, the project stretched to six weeks and ultimately abandoned due to financial difficulties. We agreed the project cost to be $12,400 and let him finish the remodeling but it turned into a nightmare for us. We were supposed to be moved in by February but today is February 26th and we do not have running water in kitchen and bathroom because he abandoned the project abruptly and finding new contractor to fix his mistakes have been complete disastrous.
We explained the importance of a professional job in our private residence, but his lack of experience and inability to meet our expectations caused significant stress. We had to re-stain the kitchen cabinets, tear the flooring he installed on top of old and uneven surfaces, and fix the drywall due to his poor skills.
Simon wasted our money, time, and the closure of my business by leaving a mess during the remodeling process. We tried to communicate about compensation for damages and the additional work due to his lack of knowledge and skills. He blocked us on social media where we had most of our conversations. I hired him because he claimed decades of experience in tiling, mosaics, and remodeling. However, the job was so poor that I could’ve done it myself. Other contractors who works with have reported similar issues with him that he abandons projects without remorse. He even creates fake Google profiles to get high ratings and asked me to give him a 5-star review to complete my remodeling and he uses AI to make his mosaics and tiles look realistic, but it’s not impressive given his decades of experience.
If you read one of the reviews his client left 8 months ago it is a similar situation that he put us through. I’m writing this review to warn others about Simon and his business practices. He has been trying to defend himself by writing review pretending to be his clients which is pathetic. We are also filing a complaint with BBB about this matter and other steps to hold him accountable for his actions.

_Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I understand your frustration and I'm sorry the project didn't meet your expectations.
You're right that the timeline extended past the original estimate — I take responsibility for that. The scope grew beyond the initial cabinet installation when painting and flooring were added, and coordinating everything took longer than I anticipated.
I brought in additional help when it became clear the project needed it, which I believed was the responsible thing to do. I stepped away from the project when communication between us deteriorated to a point where productive work wasn't possible.
I do want to note that this review and the one posted by your partner describe the same project. I respect your right to share your experience, but I want future readers to understand the full context.
I remain open to discussing a fair resolution. Please call me directly at 719-521-8312 if you'd like to work something out.

Very easy to work with, and we’ve learned that’s not the case with most. Can’t go wrong working with Simon. He was expedient and very fair with pricing. We will definitely be keeping him on our list for whenever we need work done.

Hey Valerie, very glad that you were able to get those things taken care of.
I love my custom mosaic tile! I had a specific design in mind and seeing it come to reality has been fun. Simon was communicative and professional throughout the process.

I’m glad that I was able to help you out with building that wall down in your basement and adding the door. If you need anything else, just give me a call.
Simon has been by far the best handy man I have ever had. He has done so much work on my house and the quality of the work is incredible. He is truly something special and a must hire. His pricing is great as well.

Hey Fred. I’m glad that we were able to build on our relationship regarding work and handyman work. If you need any tile or anything else done in the future, feel free to give me a call.
Simon is delusional. no where in the review did we say we liked his work or price. we attempted to negotiate a settlement because we had to pay additional money to get the job done correctly. Also be aware that I contacted Douglas County Permit office & Simon DOES NOT have correct info on bathroom codes/requirements... one big scam & con here’s the summary:
Sandpaper feel to what was smooth rock & porcelain tiles. He did NOT CLEAN at all
Grout blobs & smeared on EVERY chrome fixture & left to dry
broke handle crank on window
Arrived late, left early & vape breaks 1-3x an hour
Ripped off a door gasket/guard without talking to us [not part of the job]
2 sections of drywall removed to check for leaks, which we wanted, but then did NOT repair. Actually, tried to repair drywall WITHOUT supports & it did not work
Purchased items/supplies with our money but did not leave items when finished
Wanted to use a sander/grinder on rock tiles to repair his mistakes DOES NOT understand how to work with rock or other tiles
Scratched, chipped rock & porcelain tiles
Tracked grout throughout the house, walls covered in dust
Over 50 hours of additional repairs & cleaning after we told him to NOT return
His business practices are questionable: no bank account, no zelle or venmo, no CC, no business cards, no addresses given
HE DOES NOT HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE TO WORK IN THIS BUSINESS
Also goes under: All By Design Tile LLC & Colorado Springs Tile And Flooring & Rocky Mosaic Co also multiple phone numbers

_I'm sorry to hear you feel this way, and I appreciate you sharing your perspective.
I did attempt to reach a settlement on multiple occasions, including offering to return the deposit. When I wasn't able to reach you, I mailed a check, which unfortunately was returned due to an address error on my part — that was my mistake and I apologize for it.
Regarding the work itself: regrouting an existing shower can be unpredictable depending on the condition of what's already in place. I understand that the result wasn't what you expected, and I take that seriously.
My offer still stands — I'm willing to meet in person to resolve this and make it right. You can reach me directly at 719-521-8312. I'd much rather fix this than leave it unresolved.
