I brought my dog Piper to Texas Canine Solutions on August 27th for what was supposed to be a seven-week training program costing $3,200. I specifically asked them to teach her to focus heel, lie down on command, and stop her from attacking my goats.
They called me on October 3rd—after just five weeks—saying Piper was ready for pickup and that she didn’t need any additional training time. I didn’t receive any refund for the boarding time that was cut short, but I took them at their word that she was fully trained.
Unfortunately, the problems started almost immediately. On the second day home, Piper attacked one of my goats the moment she was off-leash, and I had to turn her training collar up to near maximum to stop her. Then, on December 18th, she killed three of my chickens. The final straw was on Christmas Eve when she killed one of my cats right in front of my grandchildren.
In addition to these incidents, Piper never really learned the difference between “sit” and “down” and her heeling was basically non-existent. When I contacted the facility after the cat incident, they expressed shock and said I should have called them immediately. I explained that the major incidents had just occurred and that I’d been trying to manage the situation by keeping Piper away from the livestock.
Ultimately, Piper even began growling at my wife after Christmas. When I reached out again for assistance in rehoming her or getting a refund, I was essentially ignored. I haven’t heard back from them at all.
Given the cost and the outcome, this experience has been extremely disappointing. I can’t recommend Texas Canine Solutions and will be leaving a one-star review.
Ron I am surprised to see this review. Piper went home on October 3rd we never heard from you until December 24th. So hearing that you were having issues was a shock we offered to help and explained that it is usually a communication issue between you and the dog.
After offering to help we didn’t hear anything until January 16th and you informed us that you were going to rehome piper. Once again I am sorry we couldn’t work this out. But we are always here to help our clients after training.
As we always say training when the dog goes home, training is the most important and we have no issues helping with the reintegration.
We noticed you left a 1-star review, but we don’t show you as one of our customers not sure what may have led to the review since no details were provided. If this was posted in error, we would greatly appreciate it if you removed it.

Brandon and Taryn are the absolute best. They took my 3 month old GS puppy and turned him into a disciplined dog in seven weeks. After about six weeks at home, he will go back for some intense personal protection training. The best trainers around, no doubt. I’d you have any issue with your dog, don’t waste another minute. Call them.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Jeff! We are thrilled to hear that Brandon and Taryn were able to help train your German Shepherd puppy and that you are pleased with the results. I was extremely impressed, happy with the results so far, they were all so kind explained everything answered every question. I highly recommend them HIGHLY. I’m very picky about my dogs and who I trust with them and I have no fear leaving my dogs with them.
We love the trainers! Wonderful knowledgeable people that love what they do. You can see the passion and love they have for the animals. We are very grateful for all they did for our Amos! We highly recommend Texas K9 Solutions!
Our Stormie went for a three week stay. We just got her back and she is beautifully trained. Still very much a rambunctious puppy but she’s learned some manners too. I feel this training was well worth it. Thank you Taryn and team!
I appreciate the Senior Citizen/Disabled Veteran discount I received. The trainers did an excellent job showcasing the potential of my Cane Corso, Vito. While I was informed that the Protection Training would be completed at a later date, I have not yet received a response to my follow-up inquiries. I look forward to your prompt reply as I am eager to resolve this matter and continue moving forward with Vito’s training.
Thank you! If you ever need anything just let us know.

Texas K-9 Solutions is worth every penny. I reached out to Brandon and his team pretty much in a panic after our golden doodle nipped and bit our daughter resulting in a stitches. I was at a complete loss, family wanted us to put him down but I couldn’t fathom the idea. Brandon took the time to listen and give his opinion about what would be best suited for our dog Dan in general and in his program. I immediately felt like if there was going to be any chance of Dan being able to Safely stay with us it was going to be because of Texas k-9 solutions and boy was I was right!
The seven week off leash program was what was recommended for Dan and what we did. They ended up keeping him an extra almost two weeks to make sure that he was ready to come home which just shows the Dedication and Integrity that Brandon and his entire team has. But I have to specifically give credit to Sam who is Dan’s Obedience trainer. I know that Sam is the one who spent day in and day out with Dan, And in reality changed our lives forever. Dan didn’t have the easiest transition going in, As he has always been a house dog and with me, but Sam quickly Created a bond and trust between him and Dan that showed every time I went to visit. Sam is a younger guy but that don’t let that fool you. He is absolutely so talented at what he does. He was always respectful, Communicated And went as far as sending me photos weekly because he knew that I was missing my dog tremendously. I honestly can’t recommend him specifically enough. It was all around a fantastic experience. Our dog Dan is home finally And it is basically like having a brand new dog, He listens to commands, He is much calmer than he was previously and he plainly just seems happier and more Fulfilled than I’ve ever seen him. I researched multiple training programs in East Texas area before we made a final decision of where we were going to send Dan, And not only was Texas K-9 Solutions was highly recommended to us by friends, but even by the local police department who assisted us after the incident occurred with Dan. I also really enjoyed the fact that the facility is on private property and secure. I knew for a fact that someone was always there, And I didn’t have to worry about how or where Dan was kept during his stay. I was always welcome to set up visits and more times than not was greeted by the owner Brandon himself at the facility well. If you want results and a place you know where your dog will be taken care of, Texas K-9 Solutions is your best option.
Once all was said and done, they really did the hard work with Dan but they armed and trained me as well with the knowledge i need to continue on this path with Dan and a door that will always be open if I need help.
Thank you again to Sam for taking exceptional care of Dan and transforming him into the best version of him I’ve ever seen. I am forever grateful.
We are sorry you feel this way. Your dog was here for boarding with touch up training over the Christmas holidays. We had discussed trying to teach a quiet command while he was here. During his stay, one of our trainers went to the ER with a health emergency. That was the trainer that was going to teach the quiet command.
During your pick up we offered to keep your dog for longer for free and bring him to your home 2 hours away instead of you coming to pick him up due to the inconvenience to ensure he learns the “Quiet“ command.
As you know we have tried to reach out with zero interest from you.
Once again we are very sorry you feel this way. If you have any questions just reach out.

Cash spend 7 weeks at Texas K-9 Solutions. He had a few behavioral issues that needed to be corrected right away. I must say I was Leary of leaving him for the 7 week training, but felt very comfortable after meeting Taryn and the owner. I have nothing but respect for what they do!! Taryn worked with Cash on his behavioral issues and I must say, he is a changed dog. Still loving and happy to be home, but he actually listens!! Sure, we have to be diligent on keeping up on the training but the reward is a wonderful dog. If you have any doubt about bringing your pet here, lose the doubt and bring them. Actually thinking of bringing our other dog for training!!! Thanks for a fine job Taryn!!!!
I spent a really long time following Brandon’s Texas K9 Solutions’ Facebook page on how he trained dogs and even attended 2x on a Saturday at his bite club. After all the research, I thought I picked the best trainer I could for my dog Luna however, I was pretty dissatisfied with what my dog accomplished with him during a 6 weeks board and train.
I sent my dog Luna for advance obedience and some reactivity she was having. She already knew basic obedience. When I went to pick her up, I was so sad inside to see how skinny my dog was. She looked weak as if she was starving and super dehydrated. You could see her ribs coming through and even stumble while I was there to pick her up. During the next few days of taking her home, I cried because I sent her to this board and train facility with this team. I did that to my dog and she didn’t get anything out of it except for high stress. It was wasted time, money and just traumatizing for me and my dog.
It has been a couple of months now since I sent her (April 2024). I debated so much in writing this review because I thought maybe I am over reacting but after thinking about this so much and speaking with other trainers, this should have never happened to my dog. I was told that how my dog looked afterwards, I could have reported this trainer for animal abuse.
Nobody ever contacted me about my dog losing so much weight and being the way she was when I picked her up. After I picked her up, I messaged Brandon and asked him why my dog came back home so skinny. He said he held my dog to the same standard for weight gain and loss as the Department of Defense. She was not overweight at drop off. She was 66lbs when I dropped her off and came back home at about 50 lbs even though he said otherwise when asked. I have pictures and videos to prove how she was a dropped off and how she was at pickup. She looked like a homeless dog who hasn’t eaten in days-weeks. Starving!!
Until today, I can’t get over at how my girl Luna was after she was given back to me. As far as training, she gained nothing. She was not taken anywhere to work on reactivity. Her reactivity is the same. Her obedience training is the same.
I am however working with her at home like before she went to this trainer which is what I should’ve continued to do. I don’t think I would never send my dogs to another board and train facility because of how my experience here was, it took that trust away from me.
In addition, the email they sent me with things she had “learned” (all 5 commands that she already knew) while she was there, was generalized. They called my female dog a male dog over that email which I immediately knew they didn’t even write that for me. It’s probably the same email everyone gets. It sounded more like quantity over quality type of email, the same as my entire experience with him.
If I could reverse time and not send her to this training facility, I would not take her here.
You can see the difference below of when I drop off my dog to Texas K9 to after she was done with them.
We are sorry to hear this. As we discussed in our private txt messages, your dog never went below our 5lb limit. When Luna checked in she weighed 60lbs. She never dropped below 55lbs.
We were unaware of your dissatisfaction until right now. If you would like to contact us directly to help with any training issue we would be more than happy to help. The last we heard from you was April 17th asking about a specific command taught!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Texas K-9 Solutions! They did such an amazing job with my big rescue Piper. She is on her way to being an 80 lb dog and I knew that I needed help getting her under control. The 2 week Board and Train Puppy Foundation course transformed her! She is so attentive, eager to please, and confident. She went from me having to corner and restrain her to get a leash on her to eagerly sitting and waiting for me to put it on. I follow their Facebook page and the work they do in all aspects of dog training is amazing! My second pup Libby is there now and I am looking forward to having 2 big, well-behaved girls. 🐶❤️🐶
They also taught me how to handle them and made me more confident with them 😊 This training has been the best investment I’ve ever made in a dog, well worth every penny!
I’m incredibly pleased with the off-leash training my Rottweiler received. Taryn did an exceptional job in establishing a solid foundation for my dog. They went above and beyond in their care, ensuring that my dog not only felt loved but also gained the skills necessary for us to confidently navigate public spaces. I’m excited to continue building on the progress he’s made.
Brandon and Sam were the two that kept in contact with us while our B&T coonhound did the on-leash obedience training. During his 4 week course we were able to go visit him once at the halfway mark. With just two weeks in I could see so much progress; it was quite shocking actually. When it was time to pick him up we had our hour long exit training, which was so helpful as the owner to feel comfortable bringing him home. We’ve only had him home for 24 hours now, but seeing the discipline and obedience in full swing has been amazing. You also get 2 follow-up sessions with the package which is reassuring if we will ever need a tune up in the future. We’ve got two littles under 3 which is why we put our pup through this training in the first place and I feel confident with this investment in K9 Solutions and cannot thank them enough. I chose to do business with K9 Solutions because they are veteran owned and you can see and feel the passion Brandon and the others have in what they do. Can’t get much better than that. Thanks again and we will definitely be using them for future work dogs.
