Excellent bathroom remodel for challenging 1920s house
Nick remodelled our small bathroom - stripping out the old bathroom, replastering walls and ceiling, levelling the floor, fitting a new showerbath, tiling, installing electrics for new dual fuel towel rail, shaver plug and lighted mirror, and installing a custom built vanity unit with solid wood countertop and sink.
He worked incredibly hard to get the bathroom finished on time, and all his work was to a good standard - we love the finished bathroom and would happily entrust Nick with future projects (we're hoping to get him back to tackle our kitchen next year).
As well as his general hardwork and skill, Nick also stood in 2 ways that we really appreciated.
Firstly, he was great at dealing with the unexpected, and coming up with solutions. Our 1920s semi threw up all kinds of problems. From coping with a sloping floor, to tackling a curved ceiling and not enough head height to fit in the shower we had planned, he worked with us to quickly come up with solutions that didn't compromise the quality of the project (Nick doesn't do bodges!) but were affordable within our budget.
Secondly, Nick was great to work with. We wanted to be involved in the small details and decisions of the project, and Nick was great at accommodating that. He checked with us for decision making throughout - from big things like what do do with the sloping floor, to smaller decisions like where to position the mirror. This was really important to us, and we really appreciated being able to work collaboratively like this!
Finally, Nick is just a decent nice guy that it was a pleasure to have in the house with us for 2 weeks.
We have no hesitation in recommending Nick - 5 star service!
