"tone of this review unnecessarily harsh" hahahahahaha and my load still hasn't delivered. I'm harsh with you, what do you think I'm getting from my customer? Sunset Pacific is terrible.

All in all service/dispatch work well. Invoiced amount same as rate quote. Deadline was breached slightly (Next AM) though given ample time (12 days) to get there prior to deadline. As a first time cust will use again but not for time sensitive freight. They will always wait to fill, vs deadlines. Nature of LTL-PTL. LA-Miami Lane. Good rate. Worthy of add'l loads.

I used this Sunset Pacific They do not follow instructions well no communication. I don't know why this company is in business. Rude people from the office to the driver. Horrible experience. double stack pallet which clearly says Do not double stack, damage pallets. They are ban by multiple companies already.
Hauled a load for them with 6 stops to Chicago...... Took them 9 hours to load..... Got to the 1st stop an the cargo had shifted due to strap issue........they tried to blame the driver for not securing the load, refused to pay layover, rework fee, ect.......also, they deducted $45 from the rate sheet for "gap insurance".......they left the office for the day two days in a row at noon to avoid conversations about layover charges......Beware
UPDATE.....they short paid the load and owe me $1815.......will be taking this one to court.
UPDATE 10-29-24........To the owner who just posted a response.......I still have not been paid the $1815 that was contractually obligated or the $200 for the layover.......If you would like to settle on what is owed, I would be willing to delete this post.

Our rates reflect the complexity of multi-stop and consolidated loads, which is why you chose to take this load. We also want to remind you that, per FMCSA and DOT regulations, drivers are responsible for ensuring their loads are secure at all times. While our warehouse does its best to assist, the ultimate responsibility lies with the driver. If a load shifts, delays caused by that will not qualify for layover or reimbursement of fees.
Regarding the gap insurance, it is clearly marked on the rate sheet, which should have been reviewed prior to accepting the load. This insurance covers cargo limits significantly greater than your standard coverage.
Our office operates seven days a week with a dedicated team of 60 employees. While we strive to be available, it is challenging for us to leave the office for two consecutive days at noon.

The worst experience ever from a trucking company, NO Stars. Although the freight was picked up on time and then sent to their Chino warehouse it was never sent out, we have been given excuse after excuse about why. First they were waiting for more freight to consolidate the truck, then twice they said they had drivers call in "sick". What was supposed to be a four day transit time at 12 days elapsed time and no hope of being delivered anytime soon, we had to rescue the material spending more than $500 extra ($3600.00) with another carrier to get it to the destination even though it was still late, they almost cancelled the order. 15 days after their initial pickup.

Most certainly my favorite carrier to work with. Their rates almost give you that "too good to be true" feeling, but so far, they are the real deal!!! Customer service is on point, rates are exactly where we need them at (very very fair), response time is phenomenal and customer service is perfect. I can't find anything that I dislike. Horrible company, takes 5 hours to unload 10 pallets. Checked in at 12 got the door called to check at 2pm they claimed i just got here 10 minutes ago. 5:45pm they barely started unloading… unbelievable how these people work
