Write a review for streets of Punjab. Best indian Punjabi food in Melbourne so far. I ordered tandoori chicken, chicken thali, dum ka murgh and for dessert was rasmalai. All were fantastic. In thali I received butter chicken. It was perfect had bit of smoky taste and the gravy had the perfect consistency. Will definitely revisit soon.

Hands down the best Indian Punjabi food I've had in Melbourne so far!
I ordered the Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Thali, Dum Ka Murgh, and Rasmalai for dessert, and every dish was fantastic. The standout for me was the Butter Chicken that came with the thali. It was absolutely perfect—rich, flavourful, with a subtle smoky taste that really elevated the dish. The gravy had the ideal consistency, neither too thick nor too thin, and paired beautifully with the rest of the meal.
The Tandoori Chicken was well-marinated and cooked perfectly, while the Dum Ka Murgh was packed with flavour and beautifully prepared. To finish, the Rasmalai was fresh, soft, and the perfect sweet ending to the meal.
Overall, a wonderful experience with authentic Punjabi flavours and excellent food quality. I'll definitely be revisiting soon and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great Indian food in Melbourne.
One of the best Indian restaurants I've visited in Melbourne. The food has a genuine homely taste, just like a meal cooked with love at home. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with authentic spices. The service was warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. If you're looking for comforting Indian food that reminds you of home, I highly recommend this place. Will definitely be coming back!" 🌟🍛😊
I recently visited to pick up some Indian sweets and was disappointed with the service. While waiting to be served, the lady at the counter appeared to deliberately serve someone behind us first because she seemed to know them. I found that quite rude and unprofessional.
Over several visits, I’ve noticed what feels like preferential treatment towards certain customers, which doesn’t create a welcoming experience for everyone. The food and sweets are average at best, and although we’ve done quite a few takeaways from here in the past, this latest experience has convinced me to stop coming back.
Customer service should be fair and respectful to everyone, regardless of who they are.
Very disappointing customer service. We were 4 friends having dinner while the restaurant was still open, but staff kept staring at us, asking for takeaway, and even started clearing our table while we still had food on our plates. Some food was thrown away without even asking us. What was more disappointing was that other tables were still sitting there, but we felt rushed and uncomfortable for no reason. Customers should be treated with respect and not made to feel pressured to leave. The restaurant seriously needs better customer service training and more professional staff.
Very disappointing experience. The staff made us feel rushed throughout the entire meal and seemed more focused on getting guests out quickly than providing good service. We were repeatedly pressured to finish early, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable and stressful instead of enjoyable. A restaurant should allow guests to relax and enjoy their dining experience, but unfortunately that was not the case here. Would not recommend if you want a pleasant and welcoming experience.
