Buyer beware. I can't give them zero stars, or I would. We used them to move from Port Charlotte to Punta Gorda. A short trip and should be an easy move, right? We sustained quite a bit of damage and we can't even get a phone call back to discuss. They just ignore us. See the attached pictures. There are more pictures, but you get the idea. Do yourself a favor and find a better outfit.
I have used this company multiple times. Today I had a lovely woman and fantastic gentleman. They were so kind and honestly made my move so simple. The anxiety left when they showed immediately because they showed ready for the job and were so considerate with our items. This is the best company in SW Fl. I promise you won't be dissatisfied if you decide to use them for your move. Thank you again Southern Cross for always proving you are the best in the Cape.
We used Southern Cross Moving to unload 3 containers in October. Overall, the unloading went well. While moving a credenza with a glass door to the mezzanine, the mover broke the glass. They took pictures and called the back office to file the claim. They said someone would get in touch with me to get the glass replaced. After 4 weeks, I called back. They indicated they are working it and someone will get back to me. No one called me back. I’ve called 3 times and each time, same story. I’m tired of waiting for them to do the right thing. Don’t recommend them. They don’t stand by their word or fix what they messed up.
My Movers canceled on me Thursday night late for a move that was happening the next day on Friday two hours away from where I live. Not only did Southern Cross step in and pick up the slack where the other Movers had ditched me, but last minute they did an exceptional job for my in-state, but long-distance move. Theo, the team LEAD and his crew were incredible. It was a very complicated move, needing to first go to a storage facility and empty it out, which filled a 26 foot truck, But then they took that storage facility to my house, and put it inside of a single bay garage. They packed up the house and prepared to bring me the furniture the next day on Friday. When they got to the new house two hours away, they first had a disassemble several rooms of furniture, move it around into different rooms, reassemble and also reload furniture back on the truck to head to Ft. Myers as we were doing a swap, in addition to a move. There was nothing but professionalism and smiles. I was never once meant to feel like this was any kind of burden or challenge. They literally saved me an incredible amount of stress, thinking that I was not gonna be able to to complete my move. Theo and his crew were just absolutely amazing! Bravo, Southern Cross Moving , bravo!
I am very happy with this company. We saved about $10,000.00 by choosing them. One of the things that influenced us the most was that the owner and/or the most experienced employee was there from the loading, driving the truck to the unloading! That is great service! They gave us phone numbers of anyone involved so we could we could stay informed. The truck was dedicated to our belongings only. Every person involved was very polite and professional. Theo is beyond amazing with his knowledge and expertise. Everything he packed was safe and protected. Great local company!
Had a great experience. Nice staff, quick service, and prepared toolset movers. Handled our baby grand piano. Will refer.
Hiring Southern Cross Moving is like getting your stoner nephew and his buddy to help pack a U-Haul.
It would have been easier and faster if I had done this move myself.
They have no idea what they are doing.
The reason I hired them was to move two complex pieces, and they couldn't do it. One of the "movers" told me, "you are going to have to hire a professional to do that."
Of course, they damaged an item that cost more than the move itself. I blame myself for not supervising these dummies who do not know that dragging something along the floor will scratch the item.
Of course, the owner pretends that he will do something to repair the damage. I've given him six months; he has done jack squat. But I knew this 6 minutes after it happened.
I give myself a one-star rating for using this company. I blame myself.
