Too bad you can't put zero stars. Our insurers appointed SOS to diagnose a leak, I wish they hadn't. The engineer who attended, Karl, was extremely unprofessional and clearly doesn't know how to deal with customers or people. At our first meeting he refused the simple request to wear overshoe covers or take his shoes off. This is the first time we have ever had a technician have a problem with this; normally they are extremely cooperative and respectful of the property. He, on the other hand, had an aggressive attitude from the outset and made his frustrations apparent, constantly venting, cursing during the attendance and making baseless accusations.
When one of his pressure tests failed, he got aggressive and accused us of using the water. He also clearly had no interest in doing the job and spent more time vaping and sitting in his van. It was clear he wanted to leave as soon as possible rather than isolate the issue. He tried to put it down to "condensation" and said there was "no leak", despite high moisture readings and dark blue cold/wet spots in the reported area. Pitiful. Not to mention he used our personal items without even asking and tried to downplay it. If you don't like your job or the industry you work in, then change. You don't take your misery out on customers.
In comparison, subsequent technicians from a local company called The Leak Finder were absolutely brilliant. They were completely thorough and professional, found the leaks, were an absolute pleasure to deal with, voluntarily took their shoes off every time they entered the property, and even sent me a copy of their report when I requested it. Karl/SOS, on the other hand, sarcastically scoffed at this common request. Their pressure test also failed/dropped, but they looked to determine why with a gas sniffer test follow-up instead of aggressively confronting us like Karl did. These subsequent technicians also found it hilarious when I told them the previous technician said it was condensation and there was "no leak". They isolated two leaks related to the original problem. As I said, completely thorough unlike SOS.
As others have mentioned, they seem to put more effort into defending any criticism of their poor work and service than actually doing the job at hand. Zero accountability, but not surprising. Honestly, based on his conduct, demeanour during the visit, which made us really uncomfortable we were left with the impression that his behaviour towards us was discriminatory. The way they try to defend their actions, when I was present and know exactly what occurred during the visit, highlights how pathetic they are as a company. A professional company would hear your concerns, take accountability and at least apologise.
I would personally avoid this company at all costs. Trust me, there are better out there.

Brilliant lads who knew what they were doing. Had ongoing problems woth British gas and loads of people been to the property but we're useless then these lads diagnosed and fixed the leak with minimal damage all within 1 hour.

My insurance company sent SOS to fix a leak in my ground floor kitchen ceiling. I was delighted that Calvin showed up because he was also sent three years ago to detect a leak in my 1st floor hallway ceiling. At that time used a camera on a pole to he take numerous photos of my roof that pinpointed a large leak there. I saved a lot of money with my roofing company by supplying them with Calvinās photos before they started work. See my review below.
This time he came with colleague Tobias, and they quickly found the kitchen ceiling leak and repaired the pipe. Unlike the emergency plumber who told me last week that he would have to cut open a large section of my kitchen ceiling (and cause a lot of damage), Calvin and Tobias carefully pulled up the old carpet upstairs above the leaking pipe and unscrewed the floorboards (which hadnāt been pulled up since the house was built in 1924!). When they finished repairing the pipe, they refitted the floorboards and carpet with no damage.
These are very efficient, knowledgeable and polite workmen, so I again highly recommend them!

The two engineers worked well together in some cold wet Welsh weather. After locating the leak, around the stopcock in the back garden, the leak was fixed, and all tested. Well done thank you.

I contacted this company and explained the issues because they failed to identify the leak and wrote misleading conclusions in their report that undermined my insurance claim. They were experts in defending poor service.
When a provider demands full payment (Ā£1000) before the service is provided, it doesn't give you protection or assurance of the quality of their service. There's no mention of specific professional bodies they're registered on their website.
In my case, they did some standard checks, made up some findings e.g. blamed the condition of the sealant (another reviewer also experienced this) as cause of the leak even though the water damage was in another part of the room, then walked off. I had to hire a plumber to do further investigations to identify and repair the leak.
You may be better off getting a good plumber in to fix the problem rather than wasting money on Trace and Access. If it's covered by your insurance, make sure you get pre-approval for the Trace and Access cost. Don't be surprised if the report findings are inconsistent or incoherent and undermine your claim. You have been warned.

Chris came out to detect a leaking central heating system which has caused considerable damage and has left us with no hot water or central heating for over a week, the insurance company appointed SOS Leak Detection to find the leak beneath the floor boards, Chris arrived exactly on time and explained what he was going to do, within a short space of time he had found the exact location of the leak and removed the flooring etc., he then repaired the damaged pipe and turned the heating system back on.
Chris was very professional throughout and is a credit to the company.

SOS were sent by our insurance company to detect a leak in the utility room. SOS called to make the appointment and came within a few days.
All checks were carried out and the source of the issue identified. The SOS engineer was very competent and provided us with a comprehensive report on his findings and recommendations.

We had SOS leak detection to find a leak in the wall of our utility room. The communication was excellent and friendly and their plumber/tradesman was totally professional and carried out the work needed to a very high standard. There was minimal disruption in finding and repairing the leak.

A huge leak was sorted by Alex & Luke who were the āChuckle Brothersā we never knew we needed! They were efficient, professional and polite throughout the 2 days they were here. SOS Leak Detection were used by Homeserve as I had a leak under the floor in our bungalow.
Our engineer Chris was very professional, friendly and reassuring.
Found the leak, removed skirtings and a bit of laminate flooring and chiselled out concrete to expose pinholed pipe. Repair made and everything tidied up.

Phenomenal experience with this company
Phenomenal company. Spoke to approximately 10 companies to obtain quotes and find someone who could come within 24 hours. SOS Leak Detection were able to do so.
They were very clear as to our needs (Trace and Access under insurance cover) and explained the usual process, very clearly outlined their fees which were much clearer than most other companies.
Ellie, the administrator we dealt with, was highly efficient and professional. Sending all documentation promptly, which was required for our claim.
Calum the engineer who attended was one of the most helpful information and polite trades people Iāve come across, full stop.
The issue was dealt with, a report provided and the matter resolved very tidily.
I cannot recommend this company highly enough! We will certainly only revisit them for any future plumbing issues.
