Use Extreme Caution
As someone who has owned and operated multiple businesses in Ottawa, I’ve worked with several SEO companies over the years. My experience with Soap Media was by far the worst. I strongly urge anyone considering this company to do thorough research before signing on. I fell for Jesse's sales pitch with fell incdrebibally short after signing on.
They hold significant control over your digital presence—control that can be easily misused or mishandled. In my case, the results were disastrous, both financially and operationally. What was promised was not delivered, and the lack of transparency and accountability was deeply concerning.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but in this case, I feel a responsibility to warn other business owners. Proceed with caution.
After reviewing our records, we could not find any recent engagement under your name. The only Sam Burland in our database appears to be associated with a project nearly a decade ago.
If this review is indeed referencing work from that time, we’re disappointed to hear that your concerns were not brought to our attention then—especially given how much we’ve evolved as an agency since. I just wanted to take the time to thank Jesse, Kerem and the rest of the team at SOAP Media for the last 6 months of booming business.
From start to finish their client experience was well tailored and seamless. Communication was always open and consistent and very friendly. On top of being great people to work with, they are undoubtedly experts in their field.
They optimized everything in a fraction of time it would’ve taken me to just research how do it poorly. All implementations moving forward were quick and effective and full service from website changes to keyword management for both PPC and SEO.
When it comes to SEO especially as a small business it’s daunting mainly because it’s never cheap but you also don’t get immediate results, that’s just the nature of it. From the start of SEO implementations they were able to display and show the significant progress we were making the whole way which took all the ambiguity and anxiety out of it.
Overall these guys are a great choice for full house marketing services and we highly recommend and we will be using there services moving forward.
P.S I own a small painting company and we have almost tripled revenue since signing on with SOAP. Aiming to hit 7figs next year with the help of this team.
Also, I graduated with a major in marketing so I understand everything they’re doing with great detail but managing this facet of my business with the rest isn’t optimal for tripling revenue.

I worked with soap media for 2 months and during that time they created a landing page and a google ad words campaign for my business. I spent thousands of dollars and did not get even a single client.
They say I did not get the clients I wanted because it takes at least three months to get referrals going but upon my questioning could provide no specific answers as to the mechanics behind how they would target the profile of the clients I needed. They make promises but, in the end, if they don't deliver, they also don't lose anything. Shahla and Keith did not seem to be invested in my success and took my concerns lightly. The landing page was a cut and paste from my website. I know another client who was a sole practitioner working with soap, initially I contacted him for a reference. Just a few days ago I found out he lost thousands of dollars over at least 8 months and still didn’t get clients so it’s not a matter of time as they say.
The owners offered around 15 percent of my money back after a series of emails back and forth, which in my opinion is not enough. Jesse's responses were generic and did not acknowledge the real mistakes that were made by staff. I appreciate that Jesse and Keith were always polite and quick to respond to me but I have sustained a loss of thousands of dollars which is hard as a sole practitioner.

We are really sorry you did not get the results you were looking for in the 47 days of working together. As a boutique family owned and operated agency we value the risks entrepreneurs take growing their small and medium sized businesses. I am really sorry that you felt our responses were generic as we do care about the success of all of our clientele. I (Jesse) made sure I was a part of internal conversations with your dedicated account manager and our PPC Manager to ensure the second month optimizations would be as effective as possible.
Our team designed and developed a dedicated landing page and we configured all of the tracking and integrations, and created the initial launch strategy and media buying guide within the first couple of weeks. Ads ran for 30 days and generated 16 leads. We determined together that some were spam and others were not your ideal client. We had planned to optimize the ad account to further refine your campaigns to your specific ideal client and wanted to review the sales process for leads as well. I’m sorry you felt that our recommendations for the second month of running ads was not sufficient. We respect your decision to leave us and we would have loved the opportunity to grow together.

I hired Soap Media after seeing their glowing 5-star Google reviews, hoping they could boost my online sales. However, after five months of their service, I am extremely disappointed. Despite the high expectations set at the beginning, they generated no sales for my business. While their services might work for others, they did not work for my company. I spent a significant amount of money based on their promises, only to find that they lacked sufficient experience in online retail marketing.
Additionally, their posts often looked unprofessional, as if they didn't proofread them. It was obvious they relied heavily on ChatGPT, resulting in many errors. This lack of attention to detail was frustrating and did not reflect well on my brand.

In talking with the team, I can see that they were working very hard, and I know they were invested in the success of your business. The team had made significant pivots to the funnel and had just developed a new landing page and ad creatives, and I can see that sales started to occur in April from our ads.
Regarding paid advertising, our team generated the ad copy & leveraged the AI built directly into the paid advertising platforms for solid recommendations.
