I actually give it no stars but google won’t let me do that. Smart green installed our system a little over a year ago. They under designed the system. After 6 months of being in service we noticed our electric was very high one month. We realized the system had a problem. They did send a tech out and he repaired the issue. They promised us a refund check for two months of payments to cover the electric bill. That was 6 months ago we still haven’t received a check. We have made multiple attempts to reachout to the company and don’t get a return call. We still get an electric bill as they under designed the system. I would not recommend this company at all. They have Terrible customer service.
I am experiencing issues with my solar panels installation, when I call to the customer support number nobody answers the phone, all I get is a voicemail staying that "for economical reasons all inquiries are being handle via email". I have sent multiple emails to the address provided and no response sor far.
Seems like the company went out of business, but is not mentioned anywhere. Worst experience ever !
I am waiting for my solar panels to
be turned on and Smart Green told me I would be reimbursed for GoodLeap their service on provider until the service is truene on.
I have called the sales rep, the company line and sent many emails and no one is getting back to me. I would love to be an active solar customer but I just have panels on my house that bill me each month and zero production.
This has turned from something I was very excited about (telling all my friends about it) into a major disappointment. They needs to take accountability for the error and make things right but they don't answer phone calls.
Sales guy replies but it sounds like it's totally out of his hands.
I'll update my review if they make this right but so far I wouldn't even say this deserves a star. I may have to report them to the BBB and get a lawyer involved but I'd rather things get worked out. At this point it's pretty pricey.
The whole solar project was quick and painless. After the initial surveys they had the new roof on and the solar installed within a few days. The longest wait time was for permits and that has nothing to do with this company. Jaelyn worked with me after the install to understand the app and helped me with a few problems I was having. Her responses were quick and very helpful to all questions I had. I would definitely recommend this company to a friend.

I am no longer able to get any response from smart green solar. All of the individuals I was reaching out to no longer work for the company. I have called and emailed many times with no response. I feel like the company went out of business.
If I could give zero stars, I would. They will screw you, don't use them for your solar. As soon as everything was installed, they bailed and were absolutely no help. It's been 5 months since the completion of the install and I'm paying for it yet haven't recieved any solar credits because they didn't get the inspection. So if you want to pay astronomical money for your solar and never actually recieve any solar, these are your guys.
I've had this stuff on my roof for just about 5 months now guess what it's still not on I get automated emails saying there working on it. I've emailed at least 10 times with no response. I would not recommend them to anyone good luck if you decide to
So it's now 3 months later no net metering no idea why it was never set up. The salesperson main selling point was I'd have basically no electric bill but I have 2 now. I'm going to city hall talk to the inspector. It says right on the building permit net metering. I'm going for people's licenses if you can't complete a job you shouldn't have a license for it. Hopefully the inspector can help me and give me advice on what it'll take to get my system connected to the grid
They talk you into getting it with the wrong information then after going through the process they give you different stories. I'm still paying for extra light bills.

I am writing this review on the second month of attempting to contact this company. My panels were installed in August and have yet to receive the meter for my system to be operational. I have been calling and emailing to no avail, I went to their office and was informed that they have left their office. I have contacted my financing company, the electric company, and also talked to the Attorney General's office. Edit in response to company, if you want to make it right, call me at the number I left at every number I could find for this company, or email me at the two emails I left. Additionally get in contact with the financing company as they have elected to take point on finishing the project as neither of us can trust you to keep to your obligations.

No matter how many times I’ve asked these people to take me off their call list, they never do. With all of the shenanigans in the solar industry, I don’t see how you could trust this company.

I received a phone call from the CEO personally this evening and he was very pleasant and reassured me that he will handle in activation process of my solar panels personally. I was very impressed.
I have had my solar panels on my roof for more than 2 mnths. They have not yet been hooked up. I have made multiple calls and left messages and no one from the company has even gotten back to us. I've got neighbors asking how the solar working out?? Well what i tell them there not even hooked up yet, they say what it's been like 3mnths.... Don't know what to say. My husband even left a message for the ceo to call us and nothing. Now my monthly payments are starting up and no way to get in contact with them for reimbursement. All i ask is for some communication

I was visited by one of Smart Green solar sale’s person Samuele to be exact, back in 2023 towards the end of the summer and installation got completed closer winter time. I was assured that my plan will cover 120% of my energy needs and this summer after noticing that the % on the Enphase app, I reached out to Samuele to let him know that I am not seeing what he told me about my unit production. He asked me to provide them with my most recent electric bill and Smart Green will review my account and handle it appropriately if they needed to add panels to my system.
I provided that all the information and I was told the review would take them about 24 hours. I am today in the third week from that date and I still have not heard back from Smart Green. I am hoping they will get back to me soon. It is extremely difficult to get a hold of anyone in their office when I call any of their numbers. I literally had to stop my work and drive up to providence, pay parking to go to their office on the 6th floor. I talked to someone named Jess who gave me her direct phone line. I just called her today and left her a voice message.

I am not sure what this replay means...There is no timeline, and nothing communicated to me to this day! Meanwhile, of course i am paying my bills as i signed up to do. But Smart Green gets to break their promise to me until when?

We have had our panels installed a little over a year now. The installation went fairly well, though it took a while to get energized.
My biggest issue with this company is the customer service AFTER installation when issues arise. The customer service associates are terrible at following up and completing a task. I am forced to keep calling weekly to ask for an update. The past few weeks every time I call it now goes to voicemail. I leave voicemails and no one returns my call. Unfortunately I contacted our sales person and he was recently laid off so I was unable to get assistance from him. Right now I am preparing to file with small claims to get my money back from all the time our gateway was completely down, during the hottest months of the year of course when our bill from National Grid was the highest. There is no evidence of any solar production for the entire 60 days that the gateway was down, awhile I waited for SmartGreen to send an electrician to resolve the issue. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t choose this company for my solar panels.
We’ve been having trouble with this company since we had two sales people Come to our house and they didn’t even put the design we picked for our house instead the installers put what they wanted on our house. When the installers came to my home they showed me a pice of paper which was their design and not what we had picked I said oh no this is the design we pick and he said ok that my design was the right design. So thinking they were putting our design on. I went ahead and signed the contract on a his phone and they proceeded to put the panels on the house thinking that they were putting up our design we picked. When we went to go look at it. we noticed the panels on the roof was not what we had picked out. I could not believe it.And they also left a mess in our yard from putting the panels on the roof. And they had already left so I cleaned it up no big deal! I’ve called emailed and texted they don’t answer us back they lied and promised us everything was going to be tied into one bill. The loan bill went up when they told us that it was set at a fixed rate and that it would never go up. More lies! RIE has been assuming our electric bill because now the panels are not producing enough we’ve had out meter changed twice because they wasn’t working or not working correctly! I showed the meter guy our bill and he agreed that somethings wasn’t right. So our RIE bill went from 119.00 on month to 730.00 the next month to 1,400 ect we’ve never had such a high electric bill in our lives. Nothing was reimbursed for RIE assuming our electricity for when the meter wasn’t working properly and the panels not producing enough power. All we get is your bill is stuck being billed for the same month or it’s another excuse. Now I’m stuck paying for this for the rest of my life I don’t know what else to do I’m at a total loss with this company. How do I get some one to help me with this situation it’s been going on for 4 years now nothing is being done. I feel like I’m being ignored. I am now in debt and it’s ruining my credit. WE NEED HELP ON THIS ISSUE!!!! It’s been 4 years and the right design still hasn’t been put on the roof.
Update: This SHAM of a company continues to pester us for money while being completely unwilling to actually get our system set up and generating. Avoid at all costs.
We have been working with (read: being ignored by) Smart Green Solar for going on 5 months of what was supposed to be a 6 week project. They work really hard to get your deposit and as much money as they can take from you without actually giving you a connected system. Stay away from this company that according to our experience, disappears before you’ll even get close to power generation.
Dealing with SmartGreen Solar has been the bane of my existence. Not only did the salesmen tell me things that were not true (He apprently didnt understand how the RI Renewable Energy Growth Program actually worked), he also lied to me about being able to purchase additional pieces for my system beyond what was specified in the original design plan. Once my system was installed, it took MONTHS to get it activated. In the end, I had to contact the manufacturer of the components in order to get it turned on. After the system was functional, I realized that I was not getting any consumption data reported. This was because SGS left the consumption CT's wrapped up and shoved inside my combiner box. They never actually finished the installation, and I had to have a contractor come out to finish the job. Now that I have had the system for a few years, I have had a microinverter fail. It has been dead for two months. SGS knows that I have the replacement part, yet they are still avoiding sending out a technician to repair the system. Ultimately this will likely cost me another service call by an unrelated contractor in order to have my system repaired.
I will never again recommend SGS to anyone, and I regret ever letting their salesman inside my home.
MUST READ! Terrible customer service has forced me to write my first review. Company only cares about sales and new installation. Had a panel break within first 6 months and Smart Green Solar has taken almost a year to replace. Very poor service communication. Although the panels are under a 25 year warranty, you should highly consider other solar companies solely due to the back end repair department. Very frustrating to have to continue to follow up with no urgency to replace broken panels. I have felt with numerous trades and contractors, nothing compares to the disorganization of Smart Green Solar - Go somewhere else!
