Extremely disappointed in our experience with Terry and Slate Roof Professionals. We asked for an evaluation and proposal on what needed to be fixed to address some leaks in our terracotta roof. We agreed to his proposal and the work started. Once his subcontractor got up on the roof he identified additional issues and gave me another estimate doubling the price (we are talking close to $20k in costs). Again we agreed as we thought all this work would fix our issues. After they finished the job, we discovered one of the original leaks we identified upfront was never repaired as we continued to get water damage. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked Terry to come back to address it since it was part of our original work contract, however he refused, made excuses (e.g. blamed my babysitter that she told his sub where to repair, which I was truly flabbergasted by), and offered to give us an additional quote for the work that was already supposed to be done. Extremely frustrating and negative experience all around and we are now in a position where we have to pay another company to repair what we already paid Slate Roof Professionals to do. We will be submitting a BBB complaint and will never do business with this company again.

We acknowledge that there was miscommunication due to the fact that there were several parties beyond the homeowner involved. This home has a highly detailed French tile roof that is leaking in multiple areas and is in need of extensive repairs. Our initial evaluation and estimate was for one small section of this very large roof. When my foreman and crew came to start the work, they were directed by other household members to a larger area of the roof that was leaking more severely. Our crew worked on repairing this roof section. Realizing later that there was an issue, I reached out via text to the homeowner, on multiple occasions, and offered to complete the original contract at a discounted price. We also offered to paint the bedroom that had water damage. Slate Roof Professionals has been in business for many years and has only once in its history received a negative review. We want to emphasize that in keeping with our focus on our customers, we remain available to work with the homeowner to resolve this issue. We are mindful, however, that multiple areas of the roof are in need of repair.
