What an absolute pleasure to deal with Josh Tanner of SMC. He handled everything super professionally, allaying all my concerns and going above and beyond to find solutions with the team to ensure my car was ready for IVA testing. What a great service! I cannot praise the team enough. I know other companies would have wanted to make money out of my dilemna but not once did I feel that with Josh. They are truly the most honest, friendly and helpful company I've ever dealt with. My car was fixed and it passed first time! I'm so happy. Thank you SMC.

I recently used ShipMyCar to import my vehicle to the UK, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the process was smooth and stress-free thanks to their fantastic team. I truly couldn’t have done it without them. A special thank you to Josh, who was incredibly helpful and always available to answer my questions throughout the entire process. His support made everything so much easier. I also want to thank Nick and Kingsley for their professionalism and efficiency. I received my vehicle on time and in perfect condition. Highly recommended! Thank you so so much

PART ONE WORST COMPANY EVER !!!! If you are thinking about importing your car with ‘Ship my car’ I recommend you think again. I take no joy out of posting a negative review, but feel I have been left with no choice. This all began 12th March 2024. We shipped two cars from Australia to the UK, costing over £10,000 ($20,000). Initially the company seemed fine to deal with. We dropped our cars off in pristine condition to their partners in Melbourne. We should have known then, that things were about to take a turn for the worse. The partners seemed unprofessional and we were left feeling uneasy. We decided to give them the benefit of doubt, and put our concerns to the back of our minds. We got a date for when the cars would be estimated to land in the UK, which was roughly on schedule, although we were to be charged additional fees due to the Suez Canal charges. We noted on the ‘portal’ when our cars arrived. We then kept an eager eye out on this for any updates. One day we looked on the portal and saw a picture of one car, which showed it had been badly smashed up. We had to contact the company (they did not even have the decency to contact us). After getting through we were notified that one car had been unsecured as it hadn’t been tied down properly in the container and this was smashing up and down the entire journey. The car was in need of a new windscreen, bonnet, and the roof had been damaged . We were very upset but again, gave the company the benefit of doubt, as they assured us it would be repaired, and that this was a rare occurrence that they would sort out the insurance and have it repaired . We have been told that this is rare over and over again, but honestly this means nothing to me, as it has did happened - and to my immaculate well looked after car. Two months down the line post having arrived in the uk and neither car was ready. We contacted the company as we were now paying for a hired car and now could no longer afford to hire it and having secured jobs- were stressed about how we were going to get there . We live outside of the city, and could not get public transport, as the last bus to our area is at 1830- we are both nurses and do not finish work in the city until 2000hrs. The car that was not smashed up was still facing delays we were told due to a waiting list at the DVLA but we contacted them direct and were told they had no paperwork for our car and knew nothing about it…. Had a classic mustang shipped from the US to the UK, car was damaged in shipping. Chipped window, knocked the window off its rails, and knocked the wing mirror off. Requested this be investigated and resolved, fobbed off with "corrosion did it". Keeping in mind corrosion had formed around the area as it was sat outside waiting to be collected for a month or 2 in the winter months, salty sea air will do that to a bare metal from 1969 when the paints been knocked off around the area. That said, the car wasn't perfect but beside the point. I had clear photos of the car being loaded from the seller as he knows this happens a lot, I had video of the car driving around. While it wasn't Shipmycar that directly caused the damage, they refused to investigate or resolve this - this most likely happened when the car was loaded into the shipping container US side and someone crawled out the window, hence the dents in my roof as well. I look forward to the half baked reply defending yourselves.

We are writing in response to your one-star review concerning our vehicle transport service. Let us be unequivocally clear: the vehicle we were contracted to ship was unmistakably a restoration project. All the issues you have subsequently mentioned, particularly aspects like corrosion, were visibly present and well-established characteristics of the vehicle before it was collected by us for transport.
It is a fundamental reality that conditions such as ingrained corrosion are developmental issues that occur over significant periods. They are not, and indeed cannot be, caused or materially worsened by the process of vehicle transportation itself, especially within the limited timeframe of a standard shipping operation. To suggest otherwise is to misunderstand the nature of these defects versus the service we provide, which is the physical movement of a vehicle. Therefore, attributing these long-standing, pre-existing conditions to our shipping service is, frankly, not a reflection of the facts. While we acknowledge your rating, it appears to be misdirected from the inherent state of the vehicle prior to our involvement. We trust that the comprehensive restoration work planned will address these underlying issues and wish you all the best in the project of bringing the Mustang back to its once former glory

My car took 4 months later than I was told to be cleared for driving after shipping from Australia to the UK. The level of service was extremely slow and got to the point where I was having to call every day to push the progress, Wouldn't recommend them to anyone, one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. My car also has scratches down the driver's side and I was informed the car had electrical faults that where not there before leaving Australia, more cost as well as extra shipping charges being added to the price after the contract was signed.

Thank you for your review David, yes the issues with the vehicle, the Suez canal and UK government agencies created quite a delay but hopefully you are now able to enjoy the car in the UK

Love Josh ! I called out of the blue and asked about exporting uk to Monaco and importing from Japan. Josh was so helpful and obliging, a true credit to the company. We ended up having a great chat about rally cars of the ‘80’s and Australian muscle cars. He is very knowledgeable, I hope to be able to give them some business. Excellent! Ap

I recently had the pleasure of working with ShipMyCar and couldn’t be happier with their service. Despite my absence for extended periods due to personal reasons, they managed the entire import process with remarkable efficiency. The team was consistently responsive, addressing any questions or concerns promptly. Their helpfulness shone through at every stage, offering clear guidance and support. For anyone looking to import a vehicle smoothly and without stress, I highly recommend ShipMyCar.

Shout out to Mathew for helping me with my Mustang wiring fault. Long story short I spent quite a few hours fault finding a dead turn signal on my Mustang, he spotted the short circuit preventing it from working (reversed connector to door mirror repeater) effectively putting the SJB into FET ptotect mode. DTCs cleared, connector issue addressed, all working.

We imported Toyota Rav4 Hybrid from NZ. Car arrived in the UK July 2023, we didn't receive it until January 2024. We had to chase after every steps and begged to hear back from them. We also had to make communications with third parties as shipmycar proved to be inefficient and slow despite us having to pay for their service. They didn't seem to have the knowledge about importing hybrids from NZ and did not disclose this to us upon receiving our deposit. They kept blaming the DVSA, so we ended up putting a complaint to DVSA, of which proved Shipmycar has been lying to us the whole time to cover up their mess. We didn't bother putting a bad review on until today, as we now have been billed a huge amount of vehicle tax for this year due to having it registered as petrol car instead of hybrid. We are still spending a significant amount of our own time to resolve their mistakes with DVLA. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Reply from Ship My Car - Car Shipping UK 2025.11.19
Euna, thank you for your review. I am sure you appreciate the many hours of extra effort we put in overturning the DVSA decision to not recognise the AUS/NZ electrical safety standards
It is correct you did communicate with us frequently. We responded within moments every time. We hope you are enjoying the car now we have it registered for you, but I suggest you direct your review to the DVSA for the time it took.

Please can you forward any correspondence you have from the DVLA proving that we have been "lying" to you the whole time? We absolutely have not at any stage lied to you. As you know the DVLA incorrectly were not recognising the Australian standards for the car as from NZ which we fought over many weeks to have them overturn. Please forward correspondence ASAP

Was a very long and stressful situation for us. We didn't know what we got ourselves into when purchasing a Jersey cat S car (thinking that being Jersey won't be hard to get it registered). Ship my car helped us with the procedure. It wasn't easy for either of us.. plenty month of chasing DVLA resubmitting our case to them and so on. By far I can tell I would have gave up long time ago but Ship My Car really tried their best and today we had the confirmation that the car has a Reg No. We are very happy and although sometimes you, as a customer, think it's the company's fault.. in fact it's the DVLA who's holding things back and giving you a hard time. So I would like to thank you for all of your time and patience waste with my case. We appreciate Thanks
