I am providing my review after step 1 of having a baby grand piano moved from the US to Australia. The sales executive Matthew Fitzpatrick is knowledgeable, most responsive and straightforward to work with. The move coordinator Donna Trenova is accessible, acknowledgeable and patient in helping me through required forms and keeping me informed of pickup schedule. The crew that came to pick up the piano was right on time, professional and friendly, and above all treated the items with care - they represented SCL well. I look forward to receiving continued excellent service from SCL in helping us move this valuable instrument across continents.
One of the worst experiences ever. Run away.
Paid more than 4.000$ for transportation of my car from NY to France. No news for a about a month, then got a call for pick up at my place.
Waited the whole day for the driver until having a call telling me he is too tired to come and would come the following day.
The following day, the driver arrived with 5 hours delay.
Super aggressive person, had no idea how to drive my manual transmission car. After shouting at me because "he knows his job better than me", he tried to load the car into his truck. For 30min with parking brake engaged, until I released it!!
Then another 1h20min burning my clutch as he obviously didn't know anything about sportscar. The smoke was so intense in the street, some neighbors had to come out and check.
When I called Schumacher cargo, they only replied "We don't know this driver. We are short in staff, so we hired a private driver. We can't do anything."
No apologies at all.
Result was a 4.000$ bill for transportation + 3.000€ bill once in France to get the clutch replaced + burnt clutch smell staying in the car.
Thoroughly disatisfied. Avoid Schumacher Cargo!
The initial contact with Daniel Cassidy was very pleasant, and we completed a virtual walkthrough of our entire house that covered every room, closet, cupboard, and drawer. Despite this, the movers arrived without the appropriate packing materials, and their packing strategy proved incoherent, as we later discovered. For example, they meticulously wrapped a box of tissues (!) and other random items in craft paper, yet stacked several paintings together in a box with no protective padding whatsoever.
After many weeks of delay with little to no communication from the French team, our belongings finally arrived at our new home ten weeks after leaving our house (the estimate we were given was four to six weeks). Furniture was scratched or damaged, lamps were broken, and although the moving-in team unpacked most of our items, they were unable to locate the hardware (packed but not labeled by the movers) needed to reassemble our desk and bed—so they simply left contrary to provisions in the contract. When we contacted Schumacher Cargo to report that they had not fulfilled their contract, they stopped responding entirely. We have not heard from them since. Needless to say, we never received a customer satisfaction survey either.

This company is holding my household goods hostage after quoting me $21,850 for a 40-ft container door-to-door move from CA to KSA.
On pickup day, their own team leader Francesco repeatedly told us “everything will fit, it's a big container, don’t worry” while the crew packed, even after we clearly told them NOT to take certain bulky cheap items. They packed everything anyway, filled the truck, and took all our belongings.
Once they had our property in their possession, they suddenly doubled the price to $43,700, claiming “extra volume” a claim they created themselves by packing things we said to leave behind. Now they refuse to release our shipment unless we pay this new amount.
They also ignored multiple formal emails demanding a resolution and even hung up on us when we mentioned filing complaints with the Federal Maritime Commission and other authorities.
This is not a misunderstanding, it’s a clear bait-and-switch and a load hostage situation. We are in the process of filing complaints with the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC), the FMCSA, and California authorities for deceptive and fraudulent practices.
Do not trust their promises. Get everything in writing, record every interaction, and avoid this company at all costs. I wish I had read the other reviews before trusting them.
Shower of Sh*t
What a shower of s**t this mob are. If you are desperate enough to need to move your stuff from point a to point b, almost literally ANYTHING is better than Schumacher. The Australian male salesman says the right things and delivers nothing. He passes the work across to Kim who could equally be seen as a non-school finishing, illiterate, that is too busy watching TMZ and doing her nails to care about you and your belongings. She’ll defend sending you an email that has 3 different fonts, pasted together in a ‘I don’t give a crap’ haphazard way that sees you having to do the heavy lifting to understand what is happening to your things. She’ll also send you a really unhelpful link to track your container, which will not only show that your things have never moved, but also that they’ve never arrived either. If, God forbid, the US customs check your things, you will never be told the Knick implications it’ll cost you financially and in time. I don’t think that even if they tried they could do any worse. DO NOT USE!

Dishonest, Hidden Fees, and a Completely Disrespectful Experience
The absolute biggest scammers. My husband and I used Schumacher to move from Miami to Germany, and it was by far the worst decision we made during our relocation.
At first, Naomi was friendly and seemed upfront about costs and logistics. But the moment we signed the contract, everything changed. Communication became vague, key decisions were made without our input, and every time we asked for clarity, whether on final square footage, marine insurance, or extra charges, we were brushed off with generic responses like, “this is the better option” or “building deliveries aren’t usually more than 2 floors.”
We were then hit with multiple surprise charges, including one related to the floor level of our new building. But when our items were picked up in Miami, the movers had no issue collecting boxes from our 4th-floor apartment. So this sudden change in what’s considered “included” felt like nothing more than a convenient excuse to tack on more fees.
We tried to be understanding, but at this point, it honestly felt like a scam. We kept asking for honesty and transparency and got neither. My husband was never told about these “additional” costs during the initial call. It felt like the bare minimum was shared upfront just to close the sale, with the rest withheld until we had no choice.
Schumacher also knew our destination well in advance, and yet didn’t flag any of these supposed delivery limitations when we gave them our updated address. That kind of oversight (or intentional withholding) shows a clear lack of professionalism and accountability.
To top it off, several of our boxes arrived in disgusting condition, and five items were broken damage so bad, it didn’t even feel worth filing a claim. That’s how little faith we had in the process by the end.
We’ve since gone back and read the reviews and now, sadly, everything makes sense. We put our trust, belongings, and money in a company that clearly doesn’t value integrity, customer service, or basic respect.
Avoid Schumacher at all costs. This experience was not only expensive but emotionally draining and we wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Very disappointing experience and would not recommend. Summary:
-This was the customs clearance/local delivery partner for PSS International Removals who handled a move I completed.
-Schumacher are unprofessional and delay, knowing they can push the costs onto the customer. I am not referring to customs fees but their own lack of organization (eg not picking up the container for 10+ days incurs fees at the port). Schumacher may blame customs for this but this is not the cause of the delay.
-Their billing processes are not transparent and they will bill you many charges without proper evidence of what the charges are and how they were incurred normally just blaming “customs”.
-local delivery van was poorly packaged and many items arrived crushed and damaged.
Overall from start to finish a bad experience and we wouldn’t use them again.

Dear RL,
Thank you for sharing your concerns and we are sorry to hear about your experience.
To clarify, Schumacher Cargo Logistics was not your direct service provider but acted as the U.S. import partner for your UK-based mover.
Your shipment was selected by U.S. Customs for physical inspection, which unfortunately extended the timeline. Moving the container to the exam site is outside of our direct control. It is handled by the US customs and the Steamship line.
Regarding charges, all invoices we issue are supported by third-party documentation from the relevant carriers, terminals, or exam site. We are always happy to provide supporting evidence. Please contact your move coordinator if you need a copy.
We regret that the process felt unclear and disappointing from your perspective and appreciate your feedback, which we will use to continue improving our communication and service for future customers.

Outstanding International Moving Experience with Schumacher
I recently used Schumacher for a relocation from the US to Germany, and I couldn't be more impressed. From the very first interaction, their team was responsive, professional, and incredibly helpful. The entire process was seamless from start to finish.
After my initial call with the shipping coordinator, I felt so confident in their expertise that I didn’t even consider looking elsewhere. Their knowledge and clear communication put me completely at ease.
On moving day, the crew arrived on time and worked efficiently while treating my belongings with the utmost care. Every item was handled thoughtfully, and the team was both courteous and respectful throughout the entire process.
Schumacher made what could have been a stressful experience feel easy and manageable. I highly recommend them to anyone planning an international move—they’re truly a class act.

One of not the worst shipping services out there either kevin or flip are absolutely terrible at their jobs and responses. Pure awful customer service. They spam you every few weeks pretending to want to help you and never respond to emails or call you. Can't state how bad this company is and I would avoid like the Plauge if I was you contemplating a shipping provider.
You've been warned
Awful awful awful
Terrible brutally bad
Worst service Ever
