Wow. Perhaps one of the best meals I’ve had in NYC. Friendly service and absolutely divine food.
We ordered:
Hummus with beef cheek - light and fluffy hummus with a delicious beef cheek and pine nut topping. Flavorful and a wonderful starter.
Fattoush - Zataar dressing on fresh romaine lettuce. Absolutely amazing. Lovely crunch and great acidity. Recommend 100%
Batata Hara - so so so good. Crunchy, salty, perfectly fried potatoes served with an amazing garlic sauce. Definitely recommend
Octopus - the octopus was cooked to perfection. I personally found the accompanying couscous and green beans to be a little lacking in flavor, but the char and flavor of the octopus made it an outstanding dish.
Kafta - my favorite dish of the meal. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and flavorful. Served with a pita and yogurt. Absolutely divine.
Wonderful meal. Definitely recommend for all to try.

Nice atmosphere, good service. The hummus was just ok but I loved the fresh pita bread. The heirloom tomatoes were special, a lot of flavor for such a simple dish. The rakakat were delicious. The cauliflower appetizer had a nice spice to it and was perfectly cooked. The meat pies had a cinnamon spice that was kind of overpowering. The kafta was incredible and interesting dish. The meat was full of flavor, the garlic whip was outstanding. The lamb shank was a bit dry but the sauce and the grains and greens were perfect.

I had a wonderful meal at Sawa. Every bite was delicious, and I found new flavors in very familiar dishes. I've never had such an amazing eggplant that was so perfectly caramelized.
The indoor and outdoor spaces are very cozy and with plenty of space between tables. The backyard is gorgeous in summer. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. It is really an ideal place for a group.

The food was ok, adventurous dishes bit the tastes were not mature. Everything was very garlic-yy. The service was very slow, we got few of our appetizers first then 15 minutes later got some other ones and it took 30 min to get the food. They were checking every 5 minutes but the food was not coming!

Went with friends and family. Our server, Lara, was very kind and attentive. We were seated outside, which was a beautiful space. The food was amazing, 13/10. We ordered most of the things on the menu, and dessert. The fatteh batenjan and the half chicken were incredible. Definitely coming back again.

Wonderful experience packed full of flavors. You gotta love a menu that’s simple yet incredibly well executed, they recommended 5 items for 2 and I would say 4 could be enough and 5 if you’re hungry. Great cocktails and wine selection.
The Beirut style Dorade can give any Branzino in the city a run for its money and you must try it. 10/10 would do it again.

We had an incredible meal at Sawa. Our server was super knowledgeable and helped guide us through the menu. Great drinks and wine list. We had tabouli, hummus with beef cheek, cheese rolls, garlic potatoes and the lamb chops. The hummus with beef cheek was a standout, the beef cheek was super tender and glazed with pomegranate molasses. The lamb chops were also a favorite, perfectly cooked and served with pickled green onions. For dessert we had the semolina cake with orange blossom custard. Everything was delicious!

Easily the best Lebanese restaurant in Brooklyn...and quite possibly all of NYC. Muhammara, baba w. Crisp garlic, and excellent cocktails (pomegroni was a favorite).

Food was alright but the service was terrible. Absolutely shameless.
Host:
Got there on time for our reservation, host tells us the table is still being prepped. We told them we'll step outside in front since the entrance is small and crowded. Waited for over 20 minutes, looking at them eye to eye but I guess they thought we were playing No Blinking because decide to never tell us or show any gesture our table was ready.
Service:
Got two orders of green tea. Maybe they should label it "1 pot of green tea for the price of two" since they only gave us a singular pot and two cups then charged us for 2. We asked them to refill the pot with hot water, they acknowledged with a sure, for the pot to never come back. Waitress comes back 15 minutes later and upon inquiry, she blatantly tells us, oh they just threw the pot into the dirty dishes. Another order?" No? You mean the second order you just never gave us and now wants to charge us another for your mistake? They just want to scam their customers. DO NOT come here.
Multiple times they've also got the names of the drinks wrong even though they were only bringing one thing from the bar? I'm sorry that the last thing on their mind was serving the customer. How do you forget what you're holding during the short walk from the bar to table???
Did I say there's a $35 cake fee? THIRTY FIVE.

We didn’t have reservations but we were able to get a seat on a Sunday evening. Everything was delicious and I would highly recommend trying on of their dips. The fattoush was my personal favorite - you can taste the freshness of all ingredients. We would definitely come back again in the future and make reservations beforehand. Recommend stoping by if you’re in the area!

This new Lebanese restaurant is an absolutely outstanding addition to the already great Brooklyn food scene. Every single dish was exquisite, from traditional dishes (best fattoush salad I've ever had, such intricate mixing of grilled peaches, crunchy pita, sumac, pomegranite molasses; spicy cauliflower nuggets) to creative repurposing (fluke crudo over pureed cucumbers & mild peppers; crispy tapas-style potatoes with a whipped garlic dip). Loved watching the chefs in the open kitchen, plus the guy making fresh pita up front. Probably my new favorite restaurant in Brooklyn. Not cheap, but worth it!

If you love and appreciate world class Middle Eastern food, you must visit Sawa. Sawa stands out from the multitudes of Mediterranean restaurants for its magnificent food. The tabbouleh salad was stunningly delicious, the heirloom tomatoes were sublime, and the raw lamb was delectable. The drinks are perfectly mixed and delicious. I recommend the “light sweater” but all the drinks were delicious. The owners are passionate about what they do and it shows. Amazing! Thank you.
