SD Pure Water was purchased by a plumbing company. The new company has started servicing SD water clients. We finally received a return call from the new company and scheduled our maintenance service. The technician showed up on time and did an excellent job. SD Water gets a one start, and the new company gets 4 stars.

Update: I have repeatedly contacted SD Pure Water to schedule maintenance on our system. I phoned and texted Jack the owner, called and emailed their office, and used their website contact form to obtain an appointment. I never received a response. I do not recommend this company and believe they may have gone out of business. They no longer have employees.

We've had our under-the-sink water filtration system for approximately 2.5 years. It has worked well for us. Our pump stopped working, thus no filtered water. We are trying to schedule a service appointment. We've contacted the company by phone and through their web contact form with no response. I spoke with someone today, and they indicated they would call me back today. I have yet to receive a return phone call. Four attempts have been made to set a service appointment. No response from the company.

Let me say right from the start that owner Bob Fadem was an all around genius, and incredible human being. The system he designed for my property was comprehensive and effective. Service is prompt, and courteous.

We had Ryan come out to the house to do some water test, he was very fun to work with. Very knowledgeable about the product. He was very helpful and not at all pushy. He gave us a great deal. Can't wait till we get our new system.

Bob is very smart and knows alot about the science behind water and the chemicals found in them. Compared to some companies that will just try to sell you an over priced system. He actually breaks down the science of how it works, why you need specific pieces, and the history behind San Diego water. I have heard sell pitches before and used some of my own. Pure water is not a sales pitch but will actually get you what you need at a REASONABLE PRICE. I've read previous reviews about Bobs and felt like something needed to be said about my experience compared to the last review. When it comes to the parts taking time to reach a customer it might have to due with that fact that there are only a few Brita distributor under contract and authorized to sell and install that system. No wonder why it would take forever to get broken valve pieces. Most water softener companies make their own system for that very reason. To keep business in house. Some of Pure water systems comes straight from Brita. Now his own system that he builds I am unaware of because I only have the Brita system. When I had Bob come over and explain everything to me I also felt as if he was condesending, at FIRST, but I realized by talking with him he was actually just very knowledgeable/Smart about the water business and passionate about his company and the systems that he builds and sells. Him and his wife built this and it's their lively hood so of course it may sound condesending. Even if he was, he still has been in water treatment business for years so he is an expert. The previous reviews just bashed Bob as a person not as a business nor the unit itself. It didn't add any relivent information or facts. For example what part of the system broke? How did it break? How long exactly did it take for the pieces to come? What did the warrenty cover? Did you need to get a whole new system? How much did it cost Pure water to replace it? Was it free? Did your insurance cover it? What other company did you go through? What was thier experience or expertise? Simple questions like that and not a single one answered just a rant about how they didn't like Bob. I'm in the Navy also since apparently that holds sway over a good business or not. Thanks again Bob and the Pure water team.

The products work well but poor communication. They seem to go through a bunch of employees too. The gentleman that originally sold me the system and the gentleman I talked to you a few months ago about changing the filters no longer work there . I was originally quoted $160 per RO to replace the under sink filters once a year. (I have 2 in my house). When I called and made the appointment there was no talk at all about price. Then when a technician came out to install them, there was no talk about price again either. So I thought the price was still $160 per RO and $320 total for 2 systems. I get an invoice the next day for $450. Kind of a joke. Seems kinda scammy. Also seems extremely expensive having to do that once every single year for the system that I paid $5,500 for. You might want to look elsewhere.

This stated in May of 2020. I wanted a water softener because I had one in my other home. What a regret it was going with Thai company. I contacted them and it took them a. While to get back to me. When they did, the owner finally came out and tested my water. I decided to go with them because he was knowledgeable about water. When they came to install the system they installed a round brine tank instead of a rectangular one. I asked if they could change it and was told absolutely since they had one in the office. A reverse osmosis system was installed under my kitchen sink as well. They also has to come back to test my water anyway. About two weeks went by and no phone call. I finally contacted them and they brought me the rectangular brine tank water was not tested and still not till this day. In September is when things went wrong. I looked under my sink which I rarely do because the water spigot wasn't working. I saw that the pipe under my sink was leaking and destroyed all of the wood under the sink. It was all bubbled up. I called my HOA plumber who said the pipes were taken to put the reverse osmosis tank in (same thing SD pure water plumber told me). I called SD Pure water and they sent a "plumber out". He couldn't fix the problem and said they are responsible for it. I could not wait so I had my plumber fix the pipes due to leaking. When SD Pure water sent their plumber out he changed a clamp around the pipe which didn't even need to be changed. I contacted SD Lure water on multiple occasions and was told they would get back to me. Mind you I found the leak in September so it was dripping slowly for about 4 months. Here we are in November almost December and I still have not heard back from them about a way to fix it or paying to have it fixed. I do not want them to fix it and would prefer to get it done by someone else. The moral of my story is that I would NOT ever recommend this company to anyone. Although the softener is ok, the service after the sale is the worst I've ever seen.

We have had SD Pure Water for 8 years now. After doing a lot of research we felt that this is the best and healthiest option for the price of the system. We are super happy with the great tasting water minus all the chemicals. Their service is excellent as well. Highly recommended!

Go somewhere else for your water system. I bought my $17,000 whole house system from Bob Fadem three years ago. Right from the start Bob wouldn't provide a size requirement or schematic so that I could enlarge well house once. Yes, I had to do it twice because he was guessing. His system has needed revisions and redesign while I waited for pure water. My only issue is arsenic. When my system showed arsenic level climbing, another revision. He says he monitors system, but I have to call repeatedly when system isn't working properly. He won't answer email, texts or phone calls. His office won't pass me to higher level to address my issues. I had a lab do a water test six months ago and it showed arsenic increasing. Bob wanted me to send him a water sample. We did, no one signed for package. Another expense for me. He said send him another. I have and now he won't answer my calls for results. This is my health and he just ignores his obligation. He jumps on new business but don't look for maintenance from him. Oh he sent another redesign that he wants me to pay for even though the previous ones are his design. He uses his frequent medical maladies as reasons for not responding but I see by other reviews that he is working. Totally disappointed and dissatisfied.

We had a leak from our water filtration unit bought through another company when I solicited help to stop the leak and fix our unit. Bob responded within a few hours on a Saturday and offered time on his day off to run by and survey the job. He instilled confidence with his prompt response and candid advice to fix our current unit, opposed to pitching a sale for a new unit entirely like other companies suggested. Therefore, we accepted their bid to fix the leak, service our unit, and install a new head to our unit. They got to work quickly and everything is working well now. We are pleased and look forward to doing business in the future.

Absolutely the worst person I've ever dealt with in my life. The owner Bob is extremely rude, condescending, and very hard to deal with if you expect being talked to with dignity and respect. Bob initially comes off incredible. He will fake the funk to make a sale but once that sale is made it's not too long before he'll show you his true colors. And please don't be fooled by his spirituality. There's simply no way he can talk to people or conduct his business the way he does and still gets to think he's spiritual. A couple of examples: 1) Designs a system with cheap faulty parts and after they fail somehow puts the burden on the customer. When we continually kept running out of clean water and needed to override the system and had to use dirty water, Bob had the audacity to say it's because it was designed for a 4 person household, not 5. The immediate problem with this statement was that he was using my wife's sister who stayed with us for a month before moving into her own place but at that very same time, I was on a 5 month deployment which means for four of those months there was only 3 people at the house, my wife and two babies. 2) My pump died (as did other parts) and he tried to manipulate his paperwork in a sneaky way so that it appears he applied a "47% discount". When I did a parts search for that exact pump, I quickly noticed that the pump wasn't $2000 but ranged between $800 - $1200. These are only two examples but there's truly many more. It took months for me to get Bob to label the valves and he wouldn't explain the theory of operation to me. After having several other professionals look at his system, many concluded as nice as it was designed, Bob overly designs and complicates his systems so it essentially becomes proprietary and you rely on him for servicing which was the case for me. If you think "well, it is his system and business" then please think if that same logic was applied to your car, truck, bike, or boat. I'm a technical guy myself whos worked on military aircraft for 10 years and still works on my own cars. Changing pumps and filters is extremely easy but if your dealing with Bob, he's a piranha and wants every bit of business he can keep for himself all the while being rude and leaving you waiting for service for weeks and even at one point, months on end. I wouldn't recommend Bob to my worst enemy. I've had great conversations with some of his staff and they also acknowledge his rude behavior. Definitely not recommended. Find another business that is authentic because San Diego Pure Water is not it.

San Diego Pure Water is the absolute best! Moving to San Diego, I wasn't prepared for just how bad the water would be. The taste was one of the worst I've ever had. I found SDPW through a friend and had an under the sink reverse osmosis system installed right away! The taste is phenomenal!! And the technician, Martin was FANTASTIC!!! I'm usually very hesitant and weary of anyone doing work in my home- but Martin is clearly a true master of his trade and made me feel extremely comfortable. I had several questions that he answered thoughtfully and without hesitation. Clean, tasty water is such a necessity - and I'm so glad there's a company like SDPW to help! It's even more comforting knowing that your water is being tested and treated by a company that doesn't have any big government ties. This company is comprised of people looking after other people. Next on the list...a whole house filtration system!!

Do NOT purchase the "yelp deal" without getting a confirmation from SD Pure Water. First Kris didn't know anything about it and after checking said it didn't apply for my service. They have serious restrictions. They don't honor it for annual reverse osmosis service. When I purchased their whole house carbon and reverse osmosis filters 3 years ago the r/o gave me 6 months of trouble. Finally owner Bob confessed the reverse osmosis valve was a used one installed "by mistake" and it was finally replaced with a new one. They promised a water quality report which I never received. Never received a service reminder because they failed to input my email address. The "annual" r/o service was done today. When I asked if there was a cash discount, the tech called owner Bob who flat out said no so I paid with VISA. Later I noticed they charged a fee for using the credit card. Called Kris who is grudgingly reversing the fee. Kris told me too bad he didn't get the technician's call regarding a discount, instead of Bob, who was busy "working on a big deal". I suppose a commercial account is more lucrative. As an individual customer I certainly don't feel valued. Update Feb 17 2020: No water quality report received. Who knows if their products even work.

Shopping for a whole house water filtration system can be intimidating. There are so many options out there it can be really confusing. Rich from SDPW really helped me understand the pros and cons of the different technologies available. It was his educational sales approach that compelled me to hire SDPW. I really learned a lot from him. Martin and Gary did a great job on the installation. They went out of their way to make sure their equipment was not only functional, but also asthetically pleasing. My wife and I noticed a big difference in the water quality immediately. We expected the water to taste better, and it does. We didn't really expect much beyond that, but after showering in the filtered water we were impressed by how much better our hair and skin feel. If you are in the market for a whole house water softner/conditioner I highly recommend you contact San Diego Pure Water.

Couldn't be happier! First off, the products are top of the line, excellent quality. But what really sets San Diego Pure Water apart from the competition is the customer service. From to technicians to the owners, they are all there to make sure everything is, not only working properly, but also working to the customer's expectations. I actively recommend them to others and have actually gotten compliments about how good my water tastes which is something I never expected. Thank you San Diego Pure Water!
