Perfect lunch in Chania
Beautiful location facing the water and fort and fun watching people go by Very welcoming - wine recommendations were great and food was delicious the grilled eggplant with fava and honey and our grilled octopus was absolutely perfect ! Service was friendly and genuine
This place was recommended and really didn’t disappoint. We visited late in a Sunday evening without a reservation and luckily got a table.
Food was delicious, service was fantastic and the general vibe was perfect for a seafront restaurant near the old port.
All of the food was amazing but would definitely recommend the aubergine/eggplant and also the crack pie for dessert.
Recommended to go here by our hotel Sansal. We are not disappointed. Upmarket restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Great food at the upper end of Cretan food. We had a cucumber salad which was fresh and zingy and croquettes which were fantastic followed by ravioli - a buffalo filled one and a pumpkin one - both extremely tasty and beautiful sauces which we soaked up with bread. We had a complimentary citrus sponge cake and then a chocolate cheesecake dessert. It wasn't the cheapest meal we had in Chania but hands down the best!
Fantastic restaurant and food

Wonderful lunch at Salis on Easter Monday, with a beautiful sea view from the veranda—even in the rain, the setting was special. The staff were warm, attentive, and struck a perfect balance throughout.
The food was outstanding, starting with great sourdough, olives, and olive oil. We shared several meze, with highlights including the arseniko cheese croquettes, crispy squid with aioli, and a well-balanced avocado taramosalata. The octopus carpaccio and spinach pie were also excellent.
For mains, the grilled octopus was tender and full of flavor, and the pork chops with handmade fries and corbfish fillet with pea purée were both beautifully prepared. A Chenin Blanc from Domaine Champalou paired perfectly.
We finished with a mille-feuille that was crisp and creamy—an excellent end to the meal.
Refined yet relaxed, with exceptional food and a stunning setting. Would gladly return.
