I engaged with Safeguard Roofing to replace my 30-year-old tile roof. From my initial contact to the sequence interactions to the end of the project, I found the staff to be professional, efficient, knowledgeable, explain the process in layman terms where I could understand as well of responsive to my questions or concerns. I was told estimate timeframes as well as who would be coming to perform the task, because there are different contractors providing services. Safeguard Roofing staff made the dots connected in a seamless procedure, this relayed a lot of my anxieties about replacing my roof.

I had some small issues with these guys but they seem to do a decent job on the roof from what I know. They did not do a great job on cleaning up when the job is complete. The other day it rained very hard and I noticed my gutters were not draining. Well here is why.

Homeowners, stay far away from Safeguard Roofing. This company has been the most dishonest and dangerous contractor experience we’ve ever had.
They tried to force us to pay almost $10,000 in an unauthorized “extra wood and flashing” charge that was never disclosed, never approved, never documented, and completely contradicted our signed contract. When we refused to pay a fake invoice, Safeguard stopped all work, left our roof tarped for weeks, and interfered with our active permit.
It was basically extortion:
Either pay a 30% surprise increase for work we never approved — or your roof stays unfinished, your permit can’t be closed, and your home is left exposed.
Then it got even worse.
Their crew entered our property without permission and attempted to remove our roof tiles — tiles we already paid for and that were 100% correct. Their project manager fabricated a story claiming the tiles were “wrong,” which we later proved was false. There was no mix-up. They were attempting to take materials that did NOT belong to them.
And this wasn’t the first shady behavior. Earlier in the project, they tried to add a surprise $6,000 chimney charge after repeatedly assuring us the chimney was included.
The pattern is undeniable:
Surprise charges. False statements. Work withheld as leverage. Permit interference. Pressure tactics. Unauthorized entry. Attempted removal of paid materials.
We documented everything and are already pursuing this with the appropriate regulatory and licensing agencies.
If you value your home, your safety, and your peace of mind — do NOT hire Safeguard RoofingPropietarios de vivienda: aléjense de Safeguard Roofing.
No hubo ningún error.
Cargos sorpresa. Mentiras. Retención del trabajo como presión. Interferencia con el permiso. Tácticas de intimidación. Entrada no autorizada.
Si valoras tu hogar, tu seguridad y tu tranquilidad — NO contrates a Safeguard Roofing.
