Defective products and poor support I purchased a rebuilt transmission for $3,200, but it failed within one block of driving. Despite their claims that it was dyno-tested, they refused to provide any proof. Their warranty was essentially useless, covering only $350 towards reinstall costs, while I ended up spending over $10,000 to fix the mess. I had to rebuild my old transmission instead. The company gave me the runaround and offered no real support for their defective product. They have numerous complaints with consumer protection agencies, and my experience makes it clear why. Avoid this company at all costs!

If I could leave no stars i would. I am a repair facility and i purchased an engine a 3.6 jeep wrangler engine. we put the engine in and it immediately had an oil leak. after further inspection it had a leaking head gasket. they sent a new engine. With the second engine the cam was messed up. they sent a new cam and customer was finally able to pick the Jeep up. it has been more than 90 days and i have not received any warranty money on the claim. i buy alot of engines,transmissions,etc and never had a company drag their feet on paying my claim.it has been over 90 days and still nothing. I would not recommend buying anything from them. Their warranty is not as they claim!!

Warranty run around We purchased a new transfer case from Powertrain Products that was leaking immediately after installation. To their credit, they did send a replacement unit fairly quickly. The real issue has been their warranty process. We submitted a $400 labor warranty claim in August 2025. The claim was approved, yet as of March 2026 we still have not been paid. For months we have received nothing but delays and the runaround. For a company that supplies parts to repair shops, failing to pay an approved warranty claim for over 7 months is unacceptable. As a small business, we rely on vendors to stand behind their products and honor their commitments. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience with Powertrain Products. Hopefully this review encourages them to finally resolve the claim.

BIG SCAM Would leave a -1 star if I could. Send me a faulty transmission and it failed immediately after install with 0 miles on it, went through the warranty process and they have been taking their time no rush at all. They are paying out 1/3 of what it costs to have a transmission installed and weren’t willing to work with me or help me in any way at all. I run an auto shop and I’m deep in the hole because of them. Will never do business or recommend anyone else does. THEY ARE A COMPLETE SCAM, STEER CLEAR OF THEM

Stay Away! Do not do business with this company. They sell low-quality, defective units. We have installed several that need immediate replacement after installation. We submitted warranty claim payments, and after 6 months of management ignoring our request for payments, we are sending them to collections.

I kept all the emails thankfully because if you don’t they definitely will try to get the deposit even if they pick it up before the 15 days they said they’re not the ones picking it up and is another company doing it so make sure you keep everything and especially I couldn’t find a tracking number on any of the paperwork so I just emailed everything they sent me back to them if it is on the paperwork it’s not marked as tracking number but as far as the motor so far they’re are no complaints but I only have 540 miles on it so far

One star is one star too many. Do not order from this company. I ordered a transmission on 1/12/26 that was quoted as a one day build, due to arrive on or before 1/21/26. Days turned into a week and still no tracking info or shipping confirmation. I called daily from 1/15 forward being told each time it will ship by tomorrow. On Monday 1/19 I was told it failed a dyno test and had been sent back to build. On 1/22 I was then told they just now have a core to rebuild and the story about the dyno was bad information. They must outsource the work to have this bad of a disconnect between sales and production.

Order engine from them. It arrived quickly, the engine was installed recently no issues so far. It is running and sounds really good. I installed the engine in a 1980 Pontiac Trans-am. Doing the last minute things before I take it on the road.

I would say this company was great i got my transmission fast but it was defective day one. I understand their warranty policy however I had to work on their transmission and they wouldn't even reimburse me for the 125$ worth of fluid and filter to drop the pan and install a new techm they only allow 25$ even tho there warranty representative Dan reassured me everything I needed would be there and if I needed anything else to just save the receipt. I had to have my van towed three times dealing with this issue as well. I could have bought a brand new transmission from the dealer for less than I spent woth this company. Won't ever do business again.
