I have a bad experience

9/11 client, dedicated, attentive staff and super lawyers

My wife saw their add and decided to call I was skeptical. Lots of paperwork to fill out and evidence to submit but after almost three long years she received a significant settlement + secondary insurance for her 9/11 Illness (Co-pays). BM takes a 10% fee the rest is yours and tax free. Not sure how much BM did but I'm sure they were working in the background. If you qualify don't expect a settlement in a few months it takes years assuming all your paperwork is in order. They probably have 1000s of clients so don't expect monthly updates.

I am currently going through these guys to make a claim for the Victim's compensation fund. It's been 6 months since a cancer diagnosis and 3 months since I've started the process with them. Early March, I sent in all the paperwork to Barasch & McGarry. They were quick on the draw to get me to sign all their forms, making all sorts of promises of helping me through this process. After a month of returning all their forms, I called in to ask about the progress, and they told me they were "working on it". I checked directly with the VCF registry and they still had NOT sent in my paperwork. After another 2 weeks, I followed up again, and yet again, they told me they were "working on it". Registry again said they still did not receive any paperwork. I've checked in every 2 weeks with them but starting last month, they've started ignoring my calls. Again, I keep calling the VCF fund and they tell me these guys STILL haven't done anything.

I worked with this Firm to represent my Mother for the 9/11 fund claim. Initially my mother condition was not medically qualified for the fund. The Firm did not dismiss us and kept us on standby for over 3 plus years. Eventually my Mother medical condition was included as qualified through years of advocacy and the Firm fought to get us paid. More importantly kept their promise. I will attest my experience with this firm was of high level character and expertise with associates, partners, para legals. We always felt valued especially when it was early in process when it was not promised or expected there would be a money award if my mother condition was never going to be accepted. We eventually got $250k minus a low and fixed commission with no other deductions. It was very very fair in respect to all the legal work and included med exams costs done over three to five years. Hopefully I will never need to but they will have my business if I require a PI attorney again. Ty !

If I could give zero I would. Took complete advantage of a high school student trying to interview a partner for a very simple project. Told me three times that I would get the responses by ___ time and failed continually. They have now made me almost a week late to a very important project for which I have to now restart the process over. This has to be a scam.

If I didn't have them I would be at a loss

This is a legitimate firm for 9/11 victims. We were on-site during and after the attacks, and didn't know how we were going to find proof and file a claim after more than 20 years. The legal team was great and has access to unique resources that can help you file your claim. They are courteous, professional and responsive. I recommend contacting them to see if they can help you as well.

Don't know how this company has 5 stars when it is a scam. I've continously received calls from them for a person I don't know, and when returning the call you get an outside office who is of no help. If you call the number listed in their voicemail, it is someone who just hangs up on you.

When I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2019, after finding out it was from 9/11 I called them and right away they took my case. Thanks for all your help ! Thank you Andrea Velasquez for navigating me thru the process :)
