Penske Truck Rental Reviews

When I came into the office to check out my Penske truck rental, the manager who was sitting in the middle of the three works at the front desk was extremely loud while talking on the phone this making it almost impossible to hear anything that the gentleman was saying whiling going over the turns and conditions of the rental and then insurance coverage. Even after I expressed my concerns regarding not being able to hear, do to the loud manager, The only response I got was a look from both workers. I then left the office and left my husband to deal with the rental paperwork. Being a manager of a large corporation myself, I would never continue an allow conversation while my coworkers are trying to conduct operational business. my suggestion is move the manager to another spot since she's so loud and prevent customers from hearing vital information. When I brought up my concerns to the worker outside, he seemed very scared of his manager and refused to make any suggestions as she's the manager.

I looked into a lot of rental places before I booked a 20' from Penske. I have been burned before by the shady Uhaul outlets that are attached to another business (ie, being charged for gas even though I filled right before returning, etc.). The place is a real professional operation that is focused on rentals, AND has lower rates. The staff was friendly, the policies were clear, and the vehicles clean. So glad I found this place. The truck I got had maybe 45k miles and had some wear and tear, but seemed well maintained. I forget their names, but everyone I dealt with on Feb 12, 2024 was great! Some other folks complained about the Burning Man policy and I get it, it is frustrating when you think you are all set for wheels and you find out at the last minute that you aren't. I been to BRC several times and I totally understand why they have that rule (especially after 2023). If you want certainty with your reservation wherever it is be sure to ask in advance. And get it in writing. Some of the smaller Uhaul outlets say they are ok with it then whack you with the cleaning fee. This place might not let you take their trucks to the playa, but I'm sure they would be upfront and polite about it.

We were given a very fair price for a one way from Reno to Las Vegas. Every single person I talked to from the initial reservation quote to the actual pickup were courteous, friendly and professional. We were assigned a truck that only had 13,000 miles on it. Very clean and very easy to load our son's apartment stuff. I highly recommend Penske if you need a truck to haul your household belongings.
