John assessed our pup and developed a training plan to address our specific needs. John has a wealth of knowledge and is great with dogs. Bubba has come a long way and we now have the skills and support to help him live his best life. We highly recommend John and Paw & Order for all of your dog training needs.

John Rossakis is an excellent trainer! We had John Rossakis as our trainer and he was excellent! My partner and I have a puppy named Fozzie who can be quite rambunctious. John was able to give us the proper tools to train commands such as: sit, down, leave it, drop it, wait, place, and recall. He also gave us great tips for leash walking as Fozzie is a puller. But since our lessons walks have been much more enjoyable! Most importantly, John really illustrated to us that each dog and family dynamic is different. He helped us think about what is most critical for our unique lifestyle and that some commands may take precedence over others. He did not make us feel bad about not having every command perfect. We had a great experience and Fozzie hopes to see him again!

Thank you Joe & Lisa for the opportunity to work with you and Fozzie! I am so glad to hear that walks continue to improve. That is such an important part of a dog's routine and you both have done a fantastic job with making it more manageable for all of you! I look forward to seeing you all in the future on our Adventure Group outings!

I adopted a year old Black Labrador, named Jack. He is full of energy, friendly and playful. However, he pulled like crazy on leash walks, would bark or lunge at other dogs, would jump on people, and demanded constant attention. I knew Jack was smart, because he quickly learned to sit and stay with me teaching him. I did not have the knowledge or skills to train him on the other issues, so I signed up for a dog obedience class, through community education. John Rossakis was the instructor. I was immediately impressed with John's demeanor and confidence. He provided clear instuctions and demonstrations on foundational skill building, starting with sit and down. We continued on with wait or stay, go to place and stay, recall, leash walking skills, and off (prevent jumping). He led the class for one session a week for six weeks, and I witnessed the progress of Jack, and the other dogs and owners. It was fun and rewarding, as John mixes in stories and humor throughout the class. I wanted to fine tune Jack's training, especially in leash walking and go to place and stay. John offers private training sessions, either as package sessions, one time private, or group classes. I signed up for three private sessions, for a very reasonable price. We began with getting Jack to stop pulling during our walks. John introduced me to using a prong collar properly. It was a great tool to get Jack's attention on me during our walks. Through John's guidance, and many repetitions, Jack now walks beside me in the heel position, or extended leash position, without pulling. We worked on place, so when people come to the door, Jack now goes to his mat and waits for guests to enter, before he calmly greets them, without jumping. John introduced me to an e-collar, which is another tool to assist in training. John was very patient with training me to train Jack. He described the techniques clearly, demonstrated them for me, and then had me do them with Jack, until I was confident with each training technique. He emailed me recaps of each session, so I could refer back to them for details. The whole experience has bonded me with Jack in a very positive way. Training , I learned, works with patience and lots of repetition. I am no longer frustrated with an unruly and ill-mannered dog. This training has paved the way for a lifetime companion that is a joy to be around! I highly recommend John Rossakis to be your dog trainer. Show less

John is absolutely wonderful! I had tried a few different trainings with my 8 year old (stubborn) beagle mix and nothing was really sticking, until I found John with Paw & Order. He came highly recommended from a friend so I reached out, had an in-depth consultation and immediately felt more confident than I had with any other trainer or method. John's background and experience, along with his welcoming and warm personality, made me feel like we were in good hands. I opted for the full 6-session in-home training program and I feel like that was truly the best option for us. Being as my dog is a bit older and like I mentioned, a tad stubborn, I was appreciative of all the time John spent helping my dog (and myself) build skills slowly and consistently, week after week, to ensure that it resulted in meaningful, lasting change. He even sent weekly recaps via email so I could reflect on our session and know exactly what we needed to work on for our "homework" that week. It has been almost 2 months since the end of our training program and I can honestly say that my dog is still the same sweet-loving goofball that he always was, but without the nonstop barking and bossiness that was present pre-training. He listens so well now and seems to have less anxiety than he did before. I am thrilled! I cannot say enough great things about John and Paw & Order. 1000/10 recommend!

Josie thank you so much for the wonderful review! I am so happy to hear Jojo's progress has maintained since we finished formal training - a testament to what a wonderful dog Mom you are!! I really enjoyed our lessons together and watching Jojo make steady progress. Any trainer will tell you that hearing about sustained progress like this is like music to our ears! Keep up the great work. I hope to see you both on future pack walks!

I contacted John within a couple weeks of adopting my 3 month old rescue pup, Luna. I had never raised a puppy and really had no idea where to start. She came to me with zero training. Not potty or kennel trained. Walking her on a leash was like flying a kite. She knew none of the basic commands like sit, stay, come, etc. She wouldn't come to me when called. She would race out the door as soon as it opened. After my initial meeting with John I felt he was the perfect person to help customize a training program for me to use with Luna. He listened to what I was looking for; I wanted a well mannered and behaved dog that would be fun to walk on a leash, and to play with. A dog that people would like to be around. His training sessions were always helpful. He started by teaching me the basics to train her on the foundation things that every dog needs to know and do. Then with each session he built on those foundation tasks and added in new elements. He was flexible in when and where we would meet, we even met at a dog park one day to show me how to better work with her when she was overly excited when meeting other dogs. She's now 10 month old. She is a true pleasure to walk with using a leash. People love to meet her. She knows, and responds, to commands. He's given me the foundation to keep working with her every day to improve and enhance her skills. It's been fun for me, and I think for Luna. And I'm kind of sure for John too! After all, who doesn't love a puppy that is well trained?

Thanks Liz! There's alot to love about Luna and I am so grateful you trusted me to help her learn how to be the best family member she can be! She's very lucky to have such a wonderful human Mom. I look forward to hearing all about her as she continues to make progress and bring joy to you and everyone else she meets!

John has been very helpful in training our Jax. Not only is John good with the dogs, but also so helpful for the humans. He came in and built rapport with our boy and started us on some huge improvements from the get-go. We have so many tips and tools to work with Jax now and I would recommend John to anyone with a dog who may need some assistance.

John Rossakis has done a wonderful job designing and implementing training programs that fit the individual needs of each dog. Though training standards generally translate across the board for most dogs, there are certain situations that require a more nuanced approach. My dog, for example, is deaf and with that can bring unique challenges. John was thoughtful, patient, kind, and effective when considering how to best set my dog (and myself) up for success. His experience, expertise, and love for dogs makes him specially qualified for what he does. If you're in the market for training services, I fully recommend Paw and Order Dog Training!

I can't say enough good things about John! John was an incredible trainer for my pup, Otis, and myself! He took the time to explain things in a very easy to understand manner, and always followed up with everything learned in an email or phone call. This was immensely helpful as we learned so much, it was nice to have it all easily referenced later on. For a bit, Otis and I hit a low point with his behaviors at home with my cat (he is a herding breed). During one of our last sessions, John pivoted to assist with this behavioral issue, and it truly turned Otis into a new dog :) It is a much happier home! John and his expertise and experience has been invaluable to us! 11/10 would recommend!

We are so happy with the training which our dog Sammy received with John at Paw & Order.  Being a stubborn mutt, his behavior had put us at wit’s end, even making us contemplate finding another home for him. After having a few sessions with John he has become a new dog!  We feel confident to take him out for walks on a lead (something we had great difficulty with, as he had pulled terribly) and even our family and friends have noticed the difference in Sammy’s behavior. John is very friendly, passionate and a consummate professional, making the sessions enjoyable for both us and Sammy. We would recommend John at Paw & Order Dog Training – Twin Cities to anyone needing help with their animals. We are looking forward to more sessions in the future!

John did an amazing job helping our dog get over his fear of going downstairs into the basement. He listened to our experience and everything we tried. He came to our house prepared with a bunch of different high value treats as well as a few different training techniques. Our dog was running up and down the stairs within an hour of John coming to our house! We highly recommend John at Paw & Order for your dog training needs!

John does a great job hearing our priorities for dog training. He is good at explaining and modeling how to do things so we can understand the process for training as well as next steps. His support help alleviate some stress our dog’s behavior had caused in our home.
