Caracol, Barton Creek, ATM tours
We used Pacz for 3 tours, Caracol/Rio Pools & Barton Creek canoeing with David and ATM with Jahir. Both were safe drivers, professional, pleasant and right on time. David was especially informative about the Mayans, birds, plants & trees and Jahir did an excellent job showing us how to safely journey thru the cave at a very safe pace. I would highly recommend visiting Caracol/ Rio Pools (ruins and water are a perfect combo) and if somewhat physically fit and agile, then also ATM. We are ages 68 & 70 and found ATM exhilaratingly fun. Barton Creek or cave tubing are a great addition if you have the time and especially if you don’t do ATM or some other cave tour. Although we did not sign up for private tours, it was just my husband and me for the tours with David and 4 of us for ATM. Alvin in the office was a great communicator and fixer ( I realized the day before our 1st tour that I had the dates wrong and in the blink of an eye, he had it fixed!) We would definitely book with Pacz again.
Tikal
My girlfriend and I went in June and it was unbelievable. Such an amazing experience our tour guide was incredible so knowledgeable about to tikal so knowledgeable about the Mya people truly amazing. When we ran out of cash, even let us borrow some money so that we could buy some waters and then we just paid him back when we got back to our hotel. honestly, I couldn’t recommend this tour enough.
Tikal and ATM excursions with PACZ
We went on 2 excursions through PACZ tours. Our family enjoyed them both. My son ,23, would vote for ATM as his favorite but the other 4 adults would definitely vote for Tikal. The drivers were professionals and the guides were knowledgable. We really liked our guide Hugo for Tikal. Tikal is really impressive and worth the time to visit- we enjoyed the walking and climbing the ruins for spectacular views but there is a fair amount of walking. The jungle was fun with spider and howler monkeys visible. The roadside lunch in Guatamala which was included was one of our favorite meals on the trip! ATM was certainly not my daughters favorite as she got somewhat claustrophobic inside the cave. I read about it but I did not really understand you would be 1/2 mile inside the cave and inside for about 2 hours. There are tight spaces at times. I am glad I did it but it is not easy. If I saw the spider that I saw at the exit before I went in I am not sure I would have gone but we saw no spiders or bats in the cave. With the clear water it actually feels fairly "Clean" in the cave. I would definitely recommend PACZ- they were on time, knowledgeable and the vans were comfortable.
Great experience
We did a couple tours through Pacz in the San Ignacio area and a main stay through out was a guide names Justin. We ran into him at Xunantunich, he’s hard to miss he should be playing D Line in the NFL. Then he was our driver for ATM and our tour guide for Pine Ridge Mountain. Great guide, awesome personality, very easy going. Highly recommend.
Fraud, they promise you a tour but do not tell you the day before that it will not happen. Nor will they help you to find another tour!

Hello Sir, we do not have a tour going and cannot do a tour with just 1 person. This is the morning (May 1) before you would like to go on a tour (May 2), we communicated with you.
The manager information was provided to you twice.

Our experience doing a Tikal overnight (with Hugo) and ATM cave tour (with Bryton) was FANTASTIC. Both guides were informative and friendly. The food provided was delicious, too. Going across the border and getting settled in Tikal was seamless, and when I struggled in the ATM cave, Bryton gave me extra attention and guidance. Could not recommend more!!
Pacz Tours, great experience!
Pacz Tours really did a great job for us. We used them for several tours. The Ajaw chocolate tasting was unique, with a demonstration and tasting of the ancient Mayan chocolate drink. The next two days we had Justin as a driver and he was really friendly and very knowledgeable about birds, animals, and the areas we were passing through. He took us to Xunantunich and Cahal Pech, where we had Dino as a really experienced and knowledgeable guide. It was a great experience. The next day Justin took us to ziplining and cave tubing, which was super fun. The ziplining was very professional and safe and the scenery was fantastic! Cave tubing afterwards was very relaxing and lots of fun. We definitely recommend this tour company! I just wish we'd gotten a chance to do ATM cave with them, I'm sure it would be amazing.
We booked 2 tours from Pacz - ATM and Barton Creek cave tour. The tour guides are knowledgeable and attentive especially the ATM tour. He showed us how to navigate through the narrow openings in the cave. I highly recommend this company. I am a little disappointed about Barton Creek cave. It is a half day tour but the cave tour part (not including driving time) lasts about 45 minutes. Maybe we had such a great time in ATM the day before that we expected longer time in the cave.
It's a scam!
We used them for a multi-day trip because they are in the books, and they gave us a quote too good to be true. Turns out it wasn't true. They didn't deliver the things we agreed on (and paid for). They were pushing for deposit but once we put down the deposit they disappeared. Eventually after much prodding they claimed they made a "mistake" in the quote and doubled the price. We were trusting and believed it's a "mistake" so we accepted the new price and paid in full. But they took us to a much cheaper hotel than the one we agreed on where we even paid extra for room upgrade . There were other things in the agreement that didn't happen, including all the meals, etc. The owner promised to refund the differences but never did.Later I learned from an insider that this company is "not the same" as before, so beware!
Poor Guide Experience
Bummed to be writing a negative review. Our guide, Oscar, was not attentive and rushed us the entire time. He consistently pushed ahead leaving our slowest member behind. Additional, there was a moment when one of our group members fell and hit their leg. She was also having anxiety and rather than stop and see if she was alright or needed something he just barked back “it’s just a little further”. She stayed put while the rest of the group finished the end of the tour. Other guides stoped to check in, but Oscar had zero empathy. We felt like we were inconveniencing our guide, when our guide should have been taking care of us. Truly disappointing to have such a negative guide for what should have been one of the most exciting tours we went on. Wish I had read the reviews on here first or just had my host book the tour for us. Oscar is certainly knowledgeable and passionate about Mayan culture and artifacts, however his lack of people skills makes me wonder why he continues to operate as a guide.
I found Pacz on Tripadvisor and filled out a contact form to enquire about the ATM Tour. The owner got in touch with me in less than a min and arranged a tour at relatively short notice to visit the caves. I had a problem paying online, he said not to worry and pay on the day of the tour. We met his son and Oscar (our guide) at Teakettle town, as we wanted to drive ourselves from Hopkins. We were so fortunate to have Oscar as our guide, he has been working as a guide for over 20 years and is very passionate about the caves and it's history. Thanks to him we (my husband and our 2 boys 10 and 12 years old) had the BEST and most memorable 3 hours in the caves! On some occasions, we felt like we were in the Indiana Jones movie set :))) Thank you for such a fantastic day! We went in mid October before the busy times and only seen a handful of tourists- the best time to come. P.S. Lunch was super tasty.
Excellent tours to Tikal and ATM Caves
We arranged two tours with Pacz and they were both incredible - the first day to Tikal and the second day to the ATM caves. For both tours, the drivers were on time, everything ran incredibly smoothly, and the guides were knowledgeable, funny, and kind. In Tikal, we had a driver transfer us to the Guatemalan border, where we crossed easily and met our Guatemalan driver and guide on the other side, who took us to Tikal. Our guide, Regge, was extremely knowledgeable and answered our nonstop questions the entire drive to the site. Once there, he gave us a really helpful overview of the whole site and its history before we began, and he even added on the Lost World section of the park which we weren't expecting to get to see! The site itself was stunning and every part of the day exceeded expectations (including the lunch on the way back!). The next day, we were picked up by our guide, Oscar, who took us to the ATM caves. Oscar was clearly a veteran guide and described in-depth not only the history of the caves themselves but also the history of how the caves were re-discovered, the process of opening the caves to the public, and how changes had been made over time to keep the cave and its artifacts safe. As one of the original 35 guides allowed to take visitors to the cave, Oscar had been on over 1000 tours, and it showed! We could not have had a better guide, and he improved an already extraordinary experience by making thoughtful changes to increase our enjoyment, like pausing to create distance from a group ahead of us, or turning off our lights at times to appreciate the complete darkness of the cave. We couldn't be happier with both days and highly recommend Pacz to anyone looking for a reliable tour operator in Belize!
Worst contact experience
We are party of 5 booked 8/13 Tuesday trip to ATM, payment already paid, and called on 8/12 to reconfirm, and someone answer the phone and reconfirmed. On 8/13 morning when calling to double check for 8:30am pick up, being told that 8/13 is "Wednesday" trip, Tuesday no trip for us. The guy is called Amelio and even asked me to hang up the phone when I was talking to him so he can "start to arrange" driver and tour guy for us. Very unprofessional and unpleasant experience with Pacz Tour company. The tour guy later told us he was being told to pick our family up the last minute when he was with his own customers, and he had to bring extra sets of gears for us. Our tour guy and ATM trip itself went smooth, but we were totally ignored in the beginning and almost missed our trip is not acceptable!
Jamir was our tour guide for a tour of the ATM caves and he was amazing. He was super friendly and knowledgeable about the caves and its history. This was a very fun adventurous tour with swimming, climbing and more to reach the ancient Mayan artifacts deep in the cave
