did solar and roof and roof has failed, no way to fix, we are out 10s of thousands
Orbit energy and Power installed a new roof and solar panels in January 2021. I don't understand how there can be reviews here from early 2023, and replies to those reviews, when the company declared bankruptcy and closed in December of 2022. In July of 2023 we discovered our roof has failed due to improper installation. We are out over $40,000 dollars and have come to believe the company was operating illegally in DE, since we have been trying unsuccessfully to get any information on who the bonding company was and bonding is required in DE. Prior to that we had leaking issues which we believed had been fixed, but once there were some heavy rains the leaked returned. That was when we discovered Orbit was gone, and the bankruptcy claim filing date was past. The roofing contractor and our insurance adjuster both told us the roof has failed.
Was in the process of getting a a new roof with solar from Orbit. Their rep’s name was Seth, and he was outstanding. I unfortunately had to cancel the project due to other expenses I was incurring but Seth was great to work with, and I highly recommend him along with Orbit to anyone looking for solar energy!
The worst customer service we have ever experienced!!! No one answers emails. If we are lucky enough to get through making a phone call that doesn't end up with a busy tone, we leave a message that doesn't get any response. We have been very patient, but there is a limit to our patience! Hire competent people if you want to stay in business. Give us the rebate check that was promised to us. Mail us the tax documents. We will be complaining to the Better Business Bureau. Maybe that will give us some results. We will not be recommending your solar company to anyone else. 😏🤬

I am pretty shocked to see all of these great reviews considering my experience which I am still dealing with. We had the worst experience ever. Solar guy came around in august. Accessed the house and put us down for solar. They just needed approval to cut the neighbors tree. We have been calling them since Sept and every time they say they are making a note for the company to call us (assuming they just have an answering service monitoring their calls). We kept calling and they said our status was listed as “abandoned” so we were like “okay, bye.” Then all of a sudden a $40k loan popped up on my husband’s credit and we started getting monthly charges. No one has come out to the house since 9/2022 but we are getting charged and our status is abandoned. We are disputing with the loan company but this is insane!
I was just driving in a residential area when someone in a white car, with tints was driving recklessly, they drove around me and another car to go into the parking lot of orbits mantua building. It shows the type of people you guys hire and it's unfortunate how little you guys care for the safety of others around you.

The tree workers carved curse words into my trees in my front yard for everyone to see until they came back to chop them down. Then they broke my neighbors fence and didn’t repair it for almost 2 months later. My roof leaked near my chimney, which was taken care of. Getting turned on took 7 months after installation, installed the panels before the permits were pulled, I got none of my srecs in the time I was supposed to ($1645 value). Whenever a question was asked or paperwork was requested it wasn’t done the first time or in time. Had to ask 3+ times for anything to be done and it all was passed around from person to person before someone actually helped.

The entire sales pitch was a lie from the price to payments to amount of the bill the panels will off set now that I noticed it no one know why my utilities bills still high the sales rep says it’s the city fault . I explained I no longer want the panels they said I have to sell on my own they only been installed for a four months but didn’t pass inspection for the first 2.5 months
Orbit Energy did a splendid job at convincing us to go solar but their execution need some improvement. They failed to communicate the install the panel and when there were problems afterwards. I initiated many of communication with the progress of the solar installation. Now I am waiting 3 months for two checks they owe me because it was not completed on time.

I just received a automated call from Orbit and it connected through to someone after I said hi a few times. I told them I was on the national do not call list and Alex said he would put me on theirs. I explained that I'm on the national one already and they have to see if your name is on it before calling. Then I called their office and told their customer service I didn't appreciate being called as I'm on the national do not call list. He said I was put on their do not call list and again said I shouldn't have to be called in the first place. He probably should have apologized instead of arguing with me asking how long ago I was put on the list. Blah, blah, blah. Lots of lame excuses. I have no idea about any business this company does to comment either way but you never get a second chance to make a good first impression.
Well the salesman was great, the workers are nice- but communication was not the best.
It seems like a struggle for service after the contract was signed.
I got windows that the screen wasn’t secured and it took two weeks for them to come back.
I also got gutters ( black) and I had to stop them from putting on white ones, they came back and did the black gutters/ then I couldn’t open the basement door. Finally we are done.
Gutters right.

I think it’s the lack of proper communication between office and workers.
The window guys dropped something off the roof onto my husband’s car ( they fixed it), but I had to call, surely the guy knew he dropped it and they just left.The car was fixed.
All I’ll say is check behind them , before they leave.

This is a horrendous company that chose to lay off a ton of workers with no notice. No severance pay was offered and the owner chose to not even notify his workers himself and had someone do it for him because he’s spineless. Do not use this company as they are very unprofessional and unresponsive. I would imagine that they will be out of business very soon anyway as they treat their employees and customers disgracefully.
