My husband and I hired Ohio concrete to do some structural work and level out our concrete so new flooring could be installed. While everyone we talked to was nice, we still had many problems. When the work was “done” (they did some additional grinding as well) we not only noticed that the floor was not level but there were scratches in our brand new appliances and cabinets (they did end up lowering the final cost by $200 but we had to go back and forth). We are by no means concrete experts, so we asked the employee at least three times if this was actually level so flooring could be installed. He stated that while there was a gap the floor people would be able to fill it. The floor people showed up to install the floor and were appalled that there was a giant gap...this was like nothing they had ever seen. They were unable to lay the floor. Now we have to hire another company to come level out our floor and we have to pay an additional cost to fix what we hired Ohio Concrete to do. Highly dissatisfied and would not recommend.*Edit* They did call my husband back and they politely discussed the situation. While mentioned before that the staff is nice, this was still our personal experience and we were disappointed.

On October 14, 2020 Adam Dettra and Jessica Brewer requested and received a quote to grind a 140 Square ft. area of thin set which remained on the floor surface. There were small portions of thin set left on the floor surface following the customer or the flooring company’s chipping process. In addition, it was also quoted to saw, remove, and pour back one 2ft.x2ft. square in their concrete slab which had deteriorated. Our operator sawed, removed, and poured back a 2ft.x8in. square to the same level as the remaining concrete. In addition, he ground the thin set that remained down to the concrete surface. During the quoting process, it was never discussed by Adam or our salesman to provide a quote or any services related to leveling the concrete slab. It wasn’t until after the job was completed that we were made aware of the fact that Adam wanted the additional work of leveling the concrete performed, which are services we do not provide. We did issue a $200.00 credit to replace a panel in their dishwasher because there was a scratch in it. Our operator didn’t think he had caused the scratch, but wasn’t 100% sure, so we wanted to make sure the customer was taken care of. The only back and forth on this, was the time it took to speak with our operator and get clarification on what had happened. We have been in business going on 40 years. We value all of our customers, and take these situations very seriously. We haven’t stayed in business this long by taking advantage of our customers. It would have been helpful to have Adam, Jessica and the flooring company facilitate a pre meeting with all involved, to discuss what was expected by all parties, so it could have been clear who was going to do what, prior to the job starting and bidding. We are truly sorry Adam and Jessica were disappointed with the result.

We were extremely pleased with the work Jared did on our floor grinding. He was on time, very courteous, professional and did a fantastic job. Our hardwood flooring installer came by twice to check on the progress. He was very impressed as well. Thank you for making this process work so well!!

I was charged $300 when I had to reschedule a service. I was not informed that I was going to receive this charge until receiving a bill. My card was then ran without my permission.

On August 21, 2017 Suzanne with Dan The Gutterman requested and received a hard copy quote for core drilling and hand-sawing on a project in Hilliard Ohio. The quote included a minimum charge of $300.00 ($250.00 Minimum, plus a $50.00 mobilization charge) This was clearly stated on the quote and was not hidden in fine print somewhere. On September 13, 2017 Suzanne called in and scheduled the job for 9:00 AM the next day (September 14, 2017) The site contact we were supposed to meet was named Italo. When our operator showed up, there was no one on site. Our operator called the number we were given for Italo, and he never responded. After a few attempts to Italo, and waiting for a response, our operator called in to inform us of the situation. Our Dispatcher called Suzanne and explained the problem. She was not able to reach Italo and said she didn’t know where her crew was, but they were supposed to be there. She re-scheduled the job for the next morning September 15, 2017. When we showed up the next morning, the backhoe operator from Dan The Gutterman did not show up and we were told they would have to reschedule again. There were no calls from Dan The Gutterman personnel either time cancelling the job, so our operator could be scheduled elsewhere and also not make unnecessary trips to the job. Suzanne called on September 18, 2017 and scheduled for 9:00 AM on September 20, 2017. We performed the work on September 20, 2017. Over the next few months, Suzanne said they were slow and low on money, but she would pay when she could. There was only a $300.00 balance, so I was willing to work with her on this. On February 13, 2018 Suzanne paid ½ of the $300.00 balance on credit card, and said we would put the balance on the Credit Card in (2) weeks. In a little over (2) weeks I ran the credit card for the balance. I received a call from Suzanne complaining I had run her credit card. I explained she had told me to put the balance on the card in (2) weeks, and I did. Later, I received a call from Dan (the owner) and I explained what had been going on. I offered to refund the balance and he said he appreciated the offer, but that was not necessary because he owed the money. I thought this was done and over with, as Dan couldn’t have been any nicer when he called, and we both agreed to put it behind us.
