Because I think you know that it's all about feedback, and if you didn't like anything you should get it to the attention of the waiting staff, because we always do a courtesy call once the food is served at your table, and we haven't come across any such comment so far,

The restaurant owner has replied to this review and raised few questions. Hence I have to update the review:
1. If you dunk boiled chicken pieces in a yellowish gravy and call it Afghani Chicken, it will come out as a disaster. And serving it with a half fried egg will not make it better. Even Afghanis don't serve it with egg. And no, I did not even taste it. It was my wife's experience. Oh and I do know how to cook it the authentic way and if you want, I'll teach your chef next year when I come back to Goa.
2. The reason I said we will be back is only because few of your local customers recommended you after chicken fiasco and I have been to enough restaurant to know that a restaurant should not be penalized for one off dish.
Please learn to take the criticism in positive manner.

The restaurant is tucked in the by lane and is over shadowed by Mke's Place. It is run by a couple and service is quite slow. So give more than enough time for your food to arrive. Typical delay is at least 20 minutes when the restaurant is less crowded. And now we come to food. We ordered pork roast and wanted to order some tandoori chicken but were told that they didn't had tandoor chef. And that is where we made the mistake. We asked for kebabs and our hostess had to again refuse - no tandoor you see. So I asked if we can have Chicken Afghani. Our hostess, Fatima, probably in peer pressure, said we could. But what came in the name of Chicken Afghani was any thing but Chicken Afghani as this is a dish I frequently cook at home. Pork Roast was good, roties were excellent but Chicken Afghani destroyed our experience. I did inform Faitma about this faux pas and she tried to save the face saying that it is their version of chicken afghani.
I understand that this may have been a one time thing and the restaurant has been recommended to us by some of our Goan friends so we are going to visit them again next year.

Thank you again Abhigyan Srivastava for replying to the questions, please don't get me wrong but the description which is given in our menu is (grilled chicken combined in onion based sauce cardamom flavouring and topped with fried egg) I am not saying that we do better chicken afghani than you, and we might not do in a authentic way like you do, but you should have asked the question about afghani if you are so particular about your food, again please don't get me wrong because in Goa also if you go from north to south the same dish varies in taste, but that doesn't mean that anyone is cooking a disaster and when it comes to food and especially food in Octima we take food very seriously and we don't cook disasters, maybe you could have word it properly you could have said it wasn't upto your expectations, disaster for me would something which is unedible for human consumption and one more thing is that we don't DUNK boiled Chicken in any gravy that's the reason you have mentioned the 20 minutes delay because we cook the chicken in the gravy,

Had a great time at Octima Restaurant and Bar! The place has such a nice, cozy vibe... perfect for a relaxed meal.
The food was the real star... We tried the squid roast, chicken handi, and fish fry, and everything was absolutely delicious. The seafood was fresh, the chicken handi was packed with flavor, and the whole meal had that comforting, home-cooked feel.
The service was excellent too. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made the experience even better. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you love good food and a great atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

A great combination of delicious food, a pleasant ambiance, and warm hospitality from the owners and staff can make any place special. Octima is an amazing place with delicious food, a great ambiance, and exceptional service. The warm hospitality from the owners (Uncle and Aunty) and the friendly staff make the experience even more special.
The food is absolutely delightful—squid, prawns in butter garlic, veg handi, and honey chili potato were all exceptional. Every dish was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a great dining experience.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and a warm, friendly environment!

Good food and, best of all, this place is not playing ridiculously loud music. A very pleasant setting a bit away from the other restaurants which also bring peace and ability to talk to your company.
Reading up on other reviews it is not the fastest place to get food on your plate.... bring lot of time. The owner says it is because it takes time to cook... fair, but seeing two coulpes leave tired of waiting for ordering... it is not the full story.

"Octima is not for the fast and furious" If people have got time and patience then they wait otherwise they leave it's as simple as that and we don't hide anything from anyone if it's going to take time it is, we don't take short cuts, because we are not a fast food joint and we cook food to order,
One more thing is that we prioritise our food and we don't make buisness on entertainment,
As you must have seen people like to wait at Octima because they are sure that the end product is going to make all of the difference.

Cannot comment on food as we had to leave after the lady taking orders did not behave in an acceptable manner. A person taking orders should be patient, hospitable, and well behaved regardless of region, or language of the customer. Not everyone coming at the restaurant will be a foreigner. Fair and equal treatment for all customers is a bare minimum expectation.
Very good food here. Uncle and aunty are very sweet. In fact uncle advised me when we ordered too much. Which was very helpful. Their goan thali was really good and made with care. Will definitely be visiting again.
