If I could give a zero I would. We were late to pick up our car. We tried to call and text them to let them know. No answer or response. We were late because of their shuttle service and then standing in line at their counter. Our car had been canceled. We could have paid an additional 187 more to get a nicer car. We didn't. The 2 representatives at the counter were flippant and rude. They did the exact same thing to the customer next to me and the one behind me. The hotel staff (at Residence Inn) were more helpful than they were. They helped get us a cab. NuCar rental charged my account anyway and won't refund my money. The representatives at the counter told me I would be refunded. Don't rent from them.

The guy who greeted us was rude AF. The truck I rented had a bad cigar smell that would not go away. I notified the staff and they noted it but that was it; no ofer for another truck, reduction in rental or anything. The shuttle this time left and arrived for pick up in a timely manner when last time it took over an hour. The gentleman I dropped the truck back off to was polite and nice.

Do not rent from this car rental company. We rented a car that was supposed to be $219.00 taxes and fees included. The agent told us the rest was a deposit and we would get it back. They charged us an additional $585.12 for many other fees which were not explained to us. This is a terrible company.

Awful customer service. 1. Rep said he was giving me a free upgrade but actually charged me for it. The receipt was emailed and not printed, so it was a little too late when I realized about the extra $90.00 charge!! 2. Car wasn't completely vacuumed, and the gas gauge was already below the full mark. 3. The after-hours turn in wasn't explained, and on the day I was turning it in, I was trying to ask a rep how the process worked, he very rudely pointed to an institutions sheet on the door. Horrible customer service. These people just care about making money and can care less about customer service.

Omg. If I can give them negative stars I would. We got scammed.. I booked with NU car rentals for our trip in Denver and it was surprisingly super cheap. We rented a SUV car for about $97 for 3 nights. We did not buy extra coverage as we already have our own insurance. When we got to the car rental place, he told us they don't have any more SUV's and that the ONLY available car is a pick up truck. I was not happy with that because why do you not have the car I rented? Since we did not have any choice, we said okay to the pick up truck. He asked us if we wanted to add any additional drivers and I said yes just in case. He did not mention there was extra charge for that. Also, he asked us if we wanted to add a pre toll fee of $12/day in case we went on any tolls, but if we don't take any tolls, they will refund us no problem. He did not mention anything else about extra charges of fees. So in my head, it is still $97 for the car rental plus the toll fee which I plan on getting refunded. I signed and initialed. After we returned the car, I received an invoice for $226. I was like WTF IS THIS??? I called them and asked and they told me that the additional driver costed money and I supposedly added collision insurance (WHICH I DID NOT), and If I want to take off the toll fees then I will be penalized by paying more if they receive the bill at the end of the month saying that I did go on tolls. Also, on top of that all these other extra fees and taxes added on. I said this is RIDICULOUS and the guy that helped us never mentioned ANY OF THIS to us at the time of rental, nor did I sign up for collision insurance. She basically says too bad, you did initial and sign it so it stands. There is nothing she can do. I WAS LIVID. Like I CAN'T BELEIVE I JUST GOT SCAMMED. In the end the car rental was not $97 but more than $300. MORAL OF THE STORY, DO NOT RENT FROM NU AND ALSO READ EVERYTHING BEFORE SIGNING.

I had the best and worst service at the same time. There was an older heavy set Asian lady who was beyond rude and disrespectful. Porsha, the manager was beyond lovely as was the woman who checked me out. This older, heavy set Asian woman was possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced and I've been in customer service all my career. I don't know how she's even employed. Thank you, Porsha!

This is a bait and switch car rental company. It appears to be a great value until you get there to pick up your car. There is an argument over insurance first, so you have to wait quite a bit to drive away. My car didn't have plates on it. It did have a paper tag on the back window, which was an expired plate. This was a problem and I was delayed again getting into the community where I was staying. I got there late at night to pick up the car and just wanted to get to my destination. Little did I know they had me initial $40 extra for an additional driver, and they told me don't put gas in the car. our gas is cheaper. They charged you for a full tank no matter what amount of gas you come back with. This was a terrible experience and I recommend to stay away from this rental car company.

DO NOT BOOK! How do i make 0 stars? This will be a thorough review of my experienc. Absolutely awful. I rented with this company last year and they were great. Online it told me they did not accept debit cards but i reached out and asked if my debit/mastercard would work as those wre lots of Canadian cards and they can work as mastercards. They told me it was no problem i got here and the process was amazing last year. Now this year was completely different. I did the same process but they denied but even with written proof of them telling me they would accept it. The two woman behind the desk were absolutely awful. Extremely rude and did not care that we had information from the head office that it would be acceptable. The general manager that was there, patricia was awful. Her and the other woman actually just started ignoring us and talking about other things while we were still there. To make things worse while we were waiting, trying to figure out our own solution for about an hour and a half, half we saw six other customers with six different problems. With being overcharged, with getting refunds, with being charged multiple times, with them having the wrong vehicle for their reservation available, etc. They ended up giving me a refund and i actually booked with a way better place called Kyte. Unfortunately we had to uber there as the ladies at the front desk would obviously not help. Overall from our experience and seeing others unfold i would never recommend and hope everyone we spoke to in the line there that was extremely long does not have any similar issues. AWFUL COMPANY!

If I could give NU Car Rental a zero, I would. We were offered a good rental price and it was one of those "it was good good to be true" offers. Here's a laundry list of what happened in Phoenix. - Have to walk a quarter mile from the car rental area to find the area they will pick you up to then take you to their car center place. - Driver that picked us up was clearly stoned or something. All of us on the van wondered if we'd even get to the rental place. He didn't help load the luggage and people ended up, in a tiny van having to hold their luggage in their lap on the drive. - Were told that we had to have proof of insurance and we did not have that with us. I thought I had never been asked for that before to rent a car and sure enough, you don't have to show proof of insurance. We were so tired by that time that we paid the extra $200 for insurance just to get in the car and go. GRRR! - Then driving down the freeway, we realize the car has no gas. Also the car was not cleaned. Had to put in a full tank of gas and have not been reimbursed for that. They have the image of the tank level and we do too. Still no response. - Sent them a detailed overview of our experience and wanted to be compensated for the empty tank, unclean car and misrepresentation that we had to show proof of insurance. No response, even though the submission stated we'd hear in 24 hours. I am not someone who gets upset easily and this company got me going. SOOOOOO annoyed and feeling of being taken advantage of. I haven't called their customer service line because I get riled up just thinking about it. That's why I sent the email request. My husband wants to suck up the extra $245 paid because he's sick of dealing with them. I don't want to on principle, but yet it's such a pain to work with them, that it makes you feel like it's not worth it. Maybe that's their goal - to wear you down and wear you out so you don't follow up. If you are in the Phoenix airport - definitely do not rent from them. The hassle to take the tram to the car rental place and then walk another 1/4 to the van pick up - is not worth it. (Elevator wasn't working either so we had to carry our luggage down the stairs. Rather down than up.....) Beware.

This car rental place has great cars but shady sales people. We rent cars up to 6 times a year and every time we deny addition insurance's and roadside assistance. We verbally denied both on April 2,2024 and were hurried thru and distracted by the clerk. Upon signing the screen and initialing on the dotted lines they added both items we denied, costing us an extra $427. We have coverage with our own personal insurance and thru our credit card providers. We entered into claims with our credit card company but the paperwork came back w our initials so we had to pay. Shame on you for encouraging this type of fraud and compensating your employees who get these added to customers rentals. We won't come back to you and will write on every travel blog

The worst customer service we've ever experienced. They purposefully don't provide a phone number because THEY DO NOT ANSWER. I've tried calling multiple times and used the text service that they have and have yet to hear back from this location. They gave us a car with a nail in the tire, we had to fill up the tire during our trip because the only the only option was for us to drive to LAX and exchange the car OR take it to a tire shop to get a new tire added on, which is ridiculous. I left a personal belonging in the car and NOONE will answer the phone or messages that we've left through their text app, at this point, my item is long gone and they've probably kept it for themselves. BE WARNED. DO NOT rent from this location!

Absolute sheisters. I prepaid for extra coverage through Rentalcars.com and they tricked me into initialing extra coverage through them even though I told them I prepaid for the LDW. I was on a business trip and my boss asked me to get the extra coverage. When I got to the counter in Denver, TONY pretended like I was initialing that I had the coverage and proceeded to charge me the extra 33.99 a day. They also lied about the gas price. They will upcharge you. They pretended to review the footage of the interaction and lied about a child screaming in the store. There was not a child in the store. They then lied about what the agent said. They are robbers and their plan is to fleece customers. Furthermore, the lady at the exit gate was extremely rude. Tony was the robbing and lying rental agent. He was told 3 times that I had prepaid for coverage. So not use NuCar it is a scam.

I prepaid through Priceline. Get to pick the car and the price doubles plus deposit. We have it listed as credit card. We also asked for no coverage. We have rental coverage but we're told that it was required. I am filing a complaint with Priceline as well

This site start off with very low prices. Once you get there they don't accept your insurance especially Liability insurance. I have Farmers Insurance with full coverage including liability and uninsured motorist. However, they didn't accept it so I have to pay 20.00 per day extra. In addition, I purchased the rental on Priceline and paid for insurance in advance. They claimed the additional insurance I already paid didn't include liability because they didn't accept the company from Priceline. Never Again will I rent from NU Car. They cheat and extort you.

Bait and switch! Reserved a car and when we landed they actually never had a car for us and this just didnt happen to me. It happened to the couple in front of us and behind us , im sure a lot more too seeing as there was a long line. So they will tell you that they ran out of cars and then they will " find" you another company but its actually a hole in the wall company ends up charging you 3 times as much. The phone number rings but no one actually answers. Definitly do not use.

Do not rent from this company! They bury in small print that if you don't have one of their selected insurance companies, they charge you a very high fee ($174.00 in my case). Not only that, but the written contract said $14.95 per day, whereas it was actually $10.00 more per day (at $24.85). I cannot believe they are still in business. Plus, the agency was empty of any customers or staff. When I challenged the charge, they lacked any form of professionalism. When I proposed not renting their vehicle, they refused to give me a shuttle ride back to the airport even though the vehicle was going in that direction, empty. Furthermore, upon returning the car, I had to wait a half hour for someone to check in my vehicle and another half hour for a ride back to the airport. Please do NOT rent from this corrupt organization.
