My experience as a Parent , My children have all been going here since they have been born started this facility once it opened. Customer service 0, employees are not knowledgeable. There mistakes makes it way harder to continue to stay. We have recently chose a new provider and it has been circle after circle to get their records signed for school, appts and anything else you would need. The receptionist doesn’t know one answer to any question no matter how many different ways you ask. Please save yourself the headache it’s get worse each visit all chaos for 20 minutes of service. Truly disappointed.

Our experience with Northwoods Pediatric Center is always a good one. The staff are extremely friendly and they basically always treat our children like family. We love the entire staff and would definitely recommend this facility.

Too strict on cancellation policy, and inflexible. Called 17 min after appointment time from outside the office and was told i missed the 15 min mark and my appointment was cancelled. They scheduled me immediately for another appointment within a half hour and collected their cancelled appointment fee and a copay. We will be moving our family to a different provider, as we value flexibility and courtesy.

Officially searching for a new pediatricians office after arriving to our scheduled appointment today and being turned away for being a cash paying patient. I should have cut ties with this office a long time ago, they have poor infection control practices and my son has gotten an injection site infection after receiving immunizations here in the past. Editing to respond to the owners reply: gloves were not used and the skin was not properly prepped before giving my son the injection. When I brought this up after he developed the injection site infection, I was gaslighted and rudely told “gloves are to protect US, not your son.”

Hello, we're sorry to hear about your negative experience. We do call all insurance issues days ahead of time to notify that something is wrong or we need more information and if we dont reach the parent, we leave a detailed voicemail with the information we're needing and a time and date we need to hear back otherwise the appointment will be cancelled. In your case, we never heard back so we went ahead and cancelled the appointment. When you came in we offered to see if we could work you back into the schedule and you declined that and said that you'd be finding another doctor. There would never have been an issue with you being a cash paying patient, at all. As for infection control, we take it very seriously cleaning all rooms between patients and wearing gloves while vaccinating and using alcohol to clean an area before an injection. Unfortunately even then, an injection site can get infected. Please feel free to call us to further discuss anything as we do appreciate the many years you have been here with us.

There’s a reason out of 65 reviews this place has a 3 star rating. The office doesn’t care about you or your child. They just come in to punch the clock. They lie and say they left a VM. Multiple times, same scenario here. But yet you check your phone and no calls back and no VMs. First time it was a confirmed appointment via phone and then we show up and they say no appointment and we can’t see your sick 18 month old. Then say the new girl is still learning the system and it was an accident. Now a year later and we switch insurance and they tell us to they need it. We show up for said appointment, empty parking lot, they say the appointment was canceled to no insurance and a VM was left. Yet again, NO VOICEMAIL or missed call. On top of that, how about confirming if the customer is willing to pay out of pocket regardless? Nope. They don’t care at all. Mind you, we have BCBS insurance and the insurance card with us.

Hello, I'm sorry for the hard time you've had today with your daughter's appointment. Please give us a call so we can discuss further. I did trace the call to make sure it happened because we definitely do not want staff documenting something that is not happening. I'd be happy to go over it with you. As for the rest, I'd like to get a better explanation of what happened so we can better address the situation to the staff. Thank you for your time and continued trust in our office all the time you've come to us. We always appreciate it.

The doctor are amazing but THE FRONT DESK TERRIBLE. They don’t know how to make appointments at all, mess up our schedule then reschedule it. I almost move, if not, I will no longer stay. I stand at 2920 locations make appointments and they make it up to the woodland without telling me. Call in for appointment, they don’t confirm back the day or hour at all, just trying to hang up on you.

The nurse practitioner is great, but not a single other thing about my experience with this clinic has been positive. They do not return phone calls left on the nurse’s line, the nurses are very hit or miss, they reschedule appointments on you last minute, and I took my daughter for her follow up flu shot and it wasn’t until we had waited 30 minutes in the lobby, gone to the back room, and gotten her undressed and weighed, before they told me they didn’t actually have any available flu vaccines at that location.

Hi Patricia, we're so sorry to hear about the problems you've confronted while at our office. We always strive to get our voicemail boxes answered quickly. So it's unsettling to hear that you never got a call back. Do you mind giving us a call, when you get a chance, so we can discuss? Thank you!

Stay far away from this place! The Doctors are amazing like Dr. Pionawala and Dr. Thomas but the front office personnel especially the front office manager is so rude, condescending, and has no empathy whatsoever. The first major issue I had was when I went to take in my sick daughter who was having a high fever and vomiting, the front office manager told me I had a balance of $80 from last time and $105 for this time. I was so confused as the last visit was a yearly checkup which is completely covered by the insurance. She did explain it to me that it’s due to me having a consultation about my daughter’s allergy and Dr. Thomas calling in Zyrtec to control my child’s allergy. I said even with that, I don’t understand why the visit is so high? She immediately replied in the most degrading, ruthless manner that, if I don’t pay the full amount, I will not be able to see the Pediatrician. If it were her child, would she be okay with such treatment? I decided to call the insurance company and found out that my secondary insurance was not added which another front personal took care of. There was no apology from the front office manager. I still decided to stay with this office because Dr. Thomas is so kind and knows my daughter’s medical history and has been taking care of her for the past 4 years! Sadly, Dr. Thomas don’t work there no more but Dr. Poonawala for the 2920 location is equally kind and very knowledgeable so, we decided to go to the 2920 location. Dr. Poonawala treated my daughter for possible strep and wrote in antibiotics and said if she doesn’t feel fully better by Wednesday, call the front office for an extension for the doctors note but if she is not better by Thursday, come in for further evaluation. (My daughter tested negative for both strep and flu but since her tonsils were very red and inflamed, Dr. Poonawala wrote a prescription for antibiotics). Well, Wednesday came and my daughter ended up with diarrhea from the antibiotics as that has happened in the past due to her ongoing GI issues and because antibiotics kill both good and bad bacteria. I know to give probiotics and electrolytic drinks like Gatorade to control the diarrhea. This is where the front office failed miserably. When I messaged, Dr. Poonawala, I got a reply from one of the Nurses saying, Dr. Poonawala said having diarrhea is not a reason for me to keep my daughter from going to school. I know for a fact that Dr. Pooniwala will never tell a parent what’s a reason for a child to stay home. I replied via the portal that Dr. Pooniwala can look at my daughter’s medical history to see why having diarrhea is a valid reason for my daughter to stay home. I was thinking it could be a possible misunderstanding but then, the front office lady, most likely the front office manager called me saying, Dr. Pooniwala cannot write me a doctor’s note and if needed, I can bring her in to treat the diarrhea. I really wished the Doctor or the Nurses would have called me! I told the front office manager that, I know for a fact that Dr. Pooniwala will never say that, my reason for my daughter to stay home due to having diarrhea is not valid and whoever who said that is very uneducated to make a statement like that! Immediately, the front office manager used that as an opportunity to be condescending saying, “you think the nurse is uneducated so, I will let her know that! Since she is so uneducated, I will tell another nurse to message you back.” I am like, no! Don’t twist my words! My point was it’s an uneducated statement to make to a parent that, the Doctor believed that having diarrhea is not a reason for a parent to have the child stay home. She was using an opportunity to be thuggish towards me and argue for no reason whatsoever! Don’t ever dictate what I the parent believe is a reason for a child to stay home! I know no Doctors or Nurses would ever say that! The front office is the most rudest staff I ever met in my life!
