Same story, paid deposit, no date to install, all phone lines ring out, or 'the person is on a call'. SEAI confirmed today that they are no longer listed, and cant validate grant work, but Seai accept no responsibility for listing them at a time they were already gone from poor to outright fraud. The SEAI list is a joke, it's a cowboys charter. A little detective work tells me that there is still activity in their Belfast premises, people and cars etc. Their Drogheda address is just someone's apartment over the commercial unit they used to give as an address.
UPDATE : April 2026
Unfortunately this companies standards are slipping badly ...
Now very difficult to contact and no follow-up to fix issues with systems installed not working correctly ... very annoying.
----------------------------------
Excellent work carried out on schedule and the team is available on the phone if you need any help or assistance.
My system is in 6 years, and has been offline for over 3 years with various issues. Twice my house has nearly burned down because of the workmanship involved which you can see in the attached photo. I've requested the system be removed and refunded, and NextGen have gone quiet not responding to emails.
I'm the Admin of the Irish Solar Owner's Group on FB, a community of 80k - please feel free to join this group, and search for NextGen where you'll find my post about my system, everything that's gone wrong, and why you should never deal with this company.
I've been super patient over the lifetime of my system, allowing months to go on before any technicians called out, always being polite with the front line staff on the phones - but I paid 11k for a system that's barely functional. Right now it's offline again since nearly setting the house on fire in December, and this is almost April.
Note if you're considering going with them, they do not have technicians of their own in Ireland. They rely on techs coming over from the UK to resolve their issues which takes literally months. And if the techs have a lot of cases queued, you'll be waiting even longer.
In my ownership period I've had batteries fail and be replaced after 15 months of troubleshooting and no usage, an Eddi which was never wired correctly and I had to pay someone locally to resolve, 2 junior techs sent out to resolve a CT clamp issue who broke my distribution board and made the problem worse, 8 months of inverter outages caused by an incompatible firmware update which again had to be resolved by a local company at my expense, another 6 months or so of outages due to failed battery updates, and my DC breaker in the photo replaced twice, and almost set my home on fire twice.
They did as compensation drop an extra battery to the home, and replace my inverter - but it's clear that there are fundamental issues at the company such as no trained technicians that in 6 years have never been resolved.
I've never wasted so much money and wish I had gone with literally any other company.
The team on the phones are doing the best they can with what they have, but avoid avoid avoid this company if you're considering adding PV to your home.
Unreliable
We paid a €3k deposit 9 weeks ago and cannot get an install date from the company. We then requested a refund and they are now not answering calls to their office or responding to emails. This is happening even with a signed contract that clearly states we are entitled to a refund if there are delays on the company's side. It's been a nightmare dealing with them
Cannot warn you enough to avoid this company.

Update: we could not get an installation date after 9 weeks and requested a refund. They are now not answering calls to their office or responding to emails. Sadly I think we are going to have to go legal/garda route to try and reclaim our 3k deposit.
Terrible experience with this company. We’ve been given 4 installation dates and all no shows with no communication. They told us the works would be done in 2 weeks and that we needed to pay a deposit to secure this. It’s now been 5 weeks since we paid the deposit and still nothing. We are out of pocket over €3000 with nothing to show for this. When you call or email they just give you another date in 2 weeks time and no explanation for the delay or reassurance. We’re going to miss our SEAI deadline at this point
Poor reliability and no support
The installation was completed on schedule and initially met expectations, but the system started malfunctioning after just one year. It trips constantly and doesn't work as it should. Unfortunately, attempts to contact support have been ignored, with no responses to emails or calls. The lack of aftersales service is extremely disappointing and leaves me feeling stranded with no resolution.

They have Stolen my Money, have not installed the Battery and are now avoiding my calls.
I asked NextGen to install the givenergy all in one Battery. I paid the 7K deposit and I was initially given an install date of July 1st 2025. Nobody arrived and nobody contacted me either to tell me they wouldn't be there or to tell me when it would be installed. I had to contact them. They apologised and rescheduled. The same thing happened again. No show, no contact, no follow up. Again I had to contact them, and was again rescheduled. The same thing happened again and again and again. After 9 failed install attempts I requested my money back, at which point they stopped answering my calls. This company has lied to me multiple times, telling me that the battery would be installed when they knew it couldn't possibly be installed because they didn't even have the unit in stock. I am still without my money.

Avoid altogether
They did a job for me which failed an inspection by the regulator as there was numerous safety issues. With underuse cable. Oversized fuses. The electrician wasn’t a registered one.
The roofer did not secure the ladder and it fell while he was up in the roof.
The office team make big promises but fail to deliver basic paperwork
Really not worth the hassle of going with them
Untrustworthy and unsafe service
Their service is dangerous and unprofessional. The roofer didn't secure the ladder, leading to a hazardous situation during installation. The electrician was unregistered, and an audit revealed major safety violations: the wrong breaker, undersized cables, and no fused spur for the fireman switch. Despite promises from their team, they failed to file essential paperwork. I took them to small claims court and won, but they are ignoring the judgment. Save yourself the headache and stay away from this company.

Here is my experience with them.
Their roofers uses a ladder and do not secure it. During my installation the ladder fell down while he was on the roof.
The electrician is not registered, the regulator conducted an audit and discovered several safety items.
The breaker used was too big and the wrong type, the cable user was to small. And there want a fused spur for the fireman switch
Despite ongoing reassurances from Jacob, Lee and Patricia. They did not file the required paperwork.
I have bought a small claims court case against them, which I won. But they are ignoring the judgement.
So do yourself a favour and avoid the stress of using NectGen Power
Delighted with the Solar installation. Working perfectly since 2020. Update 15/12/2025. There doesnt seem to be an after sales service. The system shut down in early October (2025) and despite several promises to have a technician call to me it still has not happened. Very disapointing.
Easy to deal with. Priced well. Work carried out to a high standard. And while it involves relearning how and when you use electricity I've been getting 65 to 70% of it from the sun since I've installed the panels.
Update December 2025.
Customer aftersales service absolutely terrible. Not getting the full benefits of panels for a year now with no solution in sight.
Very poor admin, waiting several months for documents to be submitted for SEAI grant. Despite several phone calls and emails nothing has been done. It's been 5 months. If you are happy to let your money sit in their account for months by all means go with this company but be warned! They are a headache to deal with!
We have had relentless failure of our system to connect with the internet and so we cannot change any settings, have no idea what our production is, whether this an economically beneficial option, if we are having any environmentally beneficial impact overall. We have pleaded with Next Gen to find some proper means of connecting the system to the internet. We even changed our internet system because they told us that this was the problem. This is despite the fact that the family leaving in the building have working internet that allows them to play games and watch films etc. This has gone on for years. A blinking dongle that never keeps its connection. We ask for help. We may get online advice which leaves us in the same boat every time. It has been a very frustrating number of years and I would advise that you look for a company with good follow-up support because you will not get it from Next Gen. Besides the fact that they cracked my roof tiles and we had a flood which required replacement of the plasterboards and furniture (it also came down on to a young boy who was sleeping in the room below the solar panels). The broken tiles are visibly white because we had to hire a handyman to seal them with silicon because a Next Gen subcontractor claimed it was unrelated to their work and shot off into the distance. So we have had very poor assistance over the years. We had one chap came last year and advised that we needed a new dongle. We passed this information to Next Gen but nothing was done. I am so disappointed at the lack of concern that this company has shown towards us. If you have any option, check what their customer assistance is like and even if it looks dearer, you will save in the long run. We are assuming we are getting electricity and it would be nice to know that we are and that we could manage it. But we can't.......
