I have my mum’s piano after she passed. It had been neglected and unloved for a time. Jim came to look at it for me and I couldn’t be happier. He accommodated my working hours by attending on a Saturday. He was respectful of my feelings about this much loved instrument. It took hours to bring it back to being able to be played, he refused to take any more money from me and we have agreed a plan of action to look after this treasured piece in the future. My huge thanks.

Jim was so kind and dedicated, he didn’t stop once within the 3 hours he was here. So friendly too, he made my piano sound amazing and his pin grippers really worked on keeping the tuning pins stable! 10/10 would absolutely call Jim again.

I had a very good service from Jim (from Pianoland), this being the second time I ask for his services to tune my piano. He gives a good reliable service and answers promtly to queries, and so I recommend his service to anyone that needs such a service done.Lately he added his new invention the Pin Spring Gripper which helped stabilize several pins that were troublesome before.

This man has left my piano so out of tune that it is unplayable. He has refused to give me my £80 back. He has also refused to give me his surname so I cannot sue him.

I tuned and repaired 5 keys not working carefully at both ends of the bridge. Very out of tune all over the place not tuned for 10/15 years.
Because I was afraid the strings could have rusted to the metal frame, I pulled the strings down then pulled them up this can make the strings unstable but ultimately it’s good for the piano. To do this carefully it is risky because it will need another tuning sooner.
I was quite happy to come out free of charge to check over the piano. Bob was adamant that another tuner was on his way so don’t really know what else I could have done.

Thank you so much to Jim today. He has saved our Kemble Cameo piano. It shall be played for many years to come. Repaired and tuned by one of life’s true gentleman. Arrived on time,polite,well mannered, determined that our piano would once again share it’s magical notes. Exceptional service and repairs. Not often in life do we come across a tradesman with such manners,kindness and skill. Would I ask Jim to tune and repair our piano again? YES,of course. I highly recommend this lovely gentleman for all your repairs and tuning. And to Jim,thank you for your hard work,breathing new life into our piano and the interesting conversation. Jim was great! He arrived on time and worked a long time on our piano to make sure it was properly tuned and in working order. He was also great with our daughter who wanted to watch and had lots of questions. Jim is very professional and his rates are very reasonable.

Jim came out and tuned my piano yesterday, he was brilliant, before he came the keys on my piano sounded tinny and almost echoed around the room. The piano sounds so much better now, Jim also fixed my piano stool at no extra charge.Will definitely be using Jim again!Fiona, Shotley Bridge, County Durham

I recently bought a Graham and Young piano, knowing little to nothing about it or pianos in general! I called a few places then chose Pianoland. The guy came out same day, was patient and knowledgeable about all things piano and took time to answer my questions about bits of the piano I'd never seen before! Advised on the best way to repair and got on with it. Once all the work was completed AND piano fully tuned I was amazed at the sound. In short, brilliant value for money, good service, incredibly knowledgeable and prompt. I don't usually give reviews but I felt I should this time.

I have just had my upright piano tuned by Jim and I would highly recommend him. Great communications, friendly and competitive prices. He was happy to chat to my four year old who was fascinated and he didn't object to letting her sit and watch him work! I will definitely use him again in the future. Thanks Jim!

After almost giving up that our upright piano was unrepairable we gave Pianoland a call. Jim was incredibly helpful and confident that something could be done to repair it. He did a fantastic job, finding a solution to repair the broken keys and getting it tuned again. Really happy with the service we received and definitely recommend him.

I have had my baby grand piano for about twenty years and can honestly say it has never sounded so good since being tuned and repaired by jim steery from piano land. Have had it tuned before but not to this standard .a brilliant service indeed many thanks to jim. Rob swan gateshead.
