If you are dealing with mental health issues- ABSOLUTELY do not go to this provider! They say they’re open, they are not open. They have an answering service and the provider will never get back to you, they don’t care how you are doing or if you go with or without medication’s. They will try to charge every card you have on file five times before they will get even back to you or even respond to your book Appt that they already raked in money for. MONEYGRAB- GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR CARE
I highly reccomend you read through their reviews. Provider is never on time, multiple times provider has never even shown up to the appointment or sent in medication, the providers only available for new intake assessments meanwhile leaving three year current patients without medication‘s for half the month with no care in the world while already charging them. The provider answers on the weekends just to see if it’s a new assessment intake. The provider has gone into the portal changing prices of appointments. Complete scam and money grab! Go elsewhere
Have been a patient of New Age Psychiatry and of both Dr. Ortega and Dr. Lo. They both are excellent providers. Very confused by some of the other reviewers who have written extensively about lack of communication or feeling like they did not "get" what they paid for - from my personal experience, and from the experience of my husband (we have both been patients for 3+ years) - anytime there has been even a marginal issue, it has been resolved in less than a day, and the staff/front desk has always gotten back to us in a very, very timely manner.
Aside from that, my symptoms have improved tremendously. They follow up with you and are meticulous in what they can and cannot provide. Particularly Dr. Ortega, she has been there for me when things got a little bumpy in my life, and for that I am extremely grateful. This is a great practice with excellent providers who do, in fact, care about their patients' wellbeing. Thanks for all you guys do!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us! We’re truly grateful for your kind words and for trusting New Age Psychiatry with your care for over three years.
It means a lot to hear that both Dr. Ortega and Dr. Lo have been able to support you and your husband through the ups and downs, and that you’ve seen such tremendous improvement in your symptoms. Comments like yours remind us why we do what we do. We’re especially glad to know that our staff and front desk have been responsive and helpful whenever you’ve needed us — that’s exactly the level of communication and support we strive for every day.
Thank you again for your continued trust and for this wonderful review. We’re here for you and your family whenever you need us. Wishing you continued health and wellbeing!
Warm regards,
The New Age Psychiatry Team
The Pharmacy Change service is completely free and the same medication can be switched to a new pharmacy at no charge. However, if you want a completely different medication, that does require a new visit and a $100 charge. Please provide your full legal name so we can locate your chart and assist you. We also partner with a delivery service so that medications that are out of stock AT THE PHARMACY'S FAULT IS STILL PROVIDED. We just partner with the pharmacy and are two completely different companies. If you think switching medications over text is correct medical practice then you are not informed on the liabilities associated with treating patients. You can't just prescribe without a note or visit. Your medication isn't out of stock and we actually went out of our way to partner with a delivery service as a last resort. Pharmacies will not tell you if "we have your specific controlled substance" They do not tell us either because they are trained not to for possible robbery or liability. Everything is recorded. You have not even made a new pharmacy request. Your complaint is heard but it's really just a system that is made that way deliberately.
If you need assistance doing a pharmacy change I will be honest with you, stop calling the pharmacies - it is a waste of time. We send the prescription and then they tell you. Stop acting like we deliberately are trying to sabotage your mental health. This is getting ridiculous. You're embarrassing yourself.

I had a very disappointing experience with this psychiatry office from the very beginning. My first appointment was scheduled as a video visit, and the provider never showed up. I waited for an entire hour, called the office multiple times, and received no response. I wasn’t contacted until four hours after my appointment time, and didn’t actually get seen until 7 PM that night. That alone should have been a red flag.
Things have only gotten worse. I’m now dealing with an issue where my prescribed medication is not in stock anywhere, but there is a very similar alternative available. Instead of helping me resolve this in a reasonable way, the office is insisting that I book a completely new appointment and pay another $100 just to get a new prescription…even though I just had my prescription sent 9 days ago.
This is dangerous. When you’re dealing with mental health, consistency with medication is critical. Delays, lack of communication, and unnecessary barriers to care can seriously impact someone’s well-being. For a psychiatry office, this level of disregard is unacceptable.
Communication is also extremely poor. They RARELY call, only text..and responses are not timely. It often feels like you’re being ignored unless it involves paying for another appointment.
This office feels more focused on collecting fees than actually providing proper mental health care. I would not recommend them to anyone who needs reliable, compassionate, and responsive psychiatric support.
Update:
The response you guys provided is RIDICULOUS! My full name is stated clearly above. But for better reference SHANNON RILEY is my full name. You do not charge to change pharmacies but when I contacted several pharmacies, they were ALL out of my medication and would be for a while. When I expressed what I had heard to the last pharmacy, they explained they could not fill it HUT had an alternative medication and you guys told me it would cost an additional $100 to do that!!!!! Then you guys did not provide any further help besides wanting me to STILL PAY AN ADDITIONAL $100 FOR A HOME DELIVERY. This is not a fake review and NOW since you not only STILL have not responded to my last message and only responded to this review claiming for it to be fake I will post screen shots.
This is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and ridiculous. I posted a review in hopes that the office might finally take one of their patients seriously, seeing that THIS OFFICE HAS SEVERAL OF THE SAME REVIEW. But I guess reporting this office and their doctor makes more sense. New age psychiatry not only never responded to me. But they also did respond to my review calling it “fake”.

Dear Dr. Ortega,
I cannot thank you enough for literally saving my life. Before working with you, I was in a place of total darkness—staying in bed with the blinds shut and even losing the will to live. After failing to find help elsewhere, your genuine concern and wisdom have completely transformed me. There aren’t enough stars in the universe to rate your services provide to me!
Today, I am consistent in the gym, I’ve cleared out unhealthy influences, and my mind, body, and soul are finally functioning properly. My family and friends are overjoyed to see this growth. You have a rare gift for making a difference, and I am endlessly grateful for the help and hope you’ve restored to my life. You are truly one of a kind, and I can’t thank you enough.
There aren’t enough stars in the universe, and I would highly recommend your services to anyone what’s so ever that is going through anything similar. I’d like to thank you deeply once again Hillary!
Thank you so much for your kind review! We truly appreciate patients like you who understand that we’re genuinely trying to provide good care.
Unfortunately, we’ve noticed a recent pattern of extremely hostile and repetitive negative reviews from people who appear to be targeting the practice. Some of them are clearly written by the same individuals using different names, which has been disappointing to see. We’re sorry you had to scroll past those while leaving your review.
We’re glad we were able to help you and we truly value patients like yourself. Thank you again!

THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!!!!
Well I am very disappointed they said if I left a review I would get 50% off I complete it and then had my appointment and then they tell me that the promotion is non-valid so that’s just a lie and that upsets me I don’t like being lied to. Not professional. I spoke to a lady 2 times about it the day before my appt. Now I’m told it was over a week ago the promotion was for so they would not honor it. Disappointed
They will steal your money !!!!!!!!!
So two years later, I decide to give this Company another chance and pay $200 for my appointment at 2:15 this afternoon and it is now 415 and I still have not had my appointment and cannot get a hold of anybody. They stole my money and they will not give me my appointment. The most unprofessional Office!!!!!!!!!!!!
You were refunded in full hours ago. The promotion expired two years ago and will not be honored. I apologize for being late to your appointment. Waiting is normal in medical offices — sometimes I spend more time with patients who need it. I personally waited an hour and a half at the dentist recently and didn’t write a bad review about it. We are here to help you, but we do not have to tolerate abuse. Your medication has also been sent — please check your pharmacy.
We have removed multiple fake and fabricated reviews that contained false information. We have no record of several of these reviewers ever being patients in our practice.
We will continue removing any review that is proven to be fake or contains demonstrably false statements. If you were genuinely a patient with a legitimate concern, we welcome you to reach out with your real name and date of birth so we can address your issue properly.

Been working with this office for over a year. I get my meds but not without frustration. Good for you if you have already established meds you prefer, and simply need quick virtual refill. And don’t mind the pain in the ash once a month or so.
Office staff is clearly outsourced to some third party. You are required to leave a message with someone, and then you will get a call back to complete it. Really annoying- I don’t think I’ve ever gotten through to anyone who can simply just reschedule an appointment. There’s the option to text with any questions or requests but that also is not addressed timely or efficiently. Appts are scheduled online and require payment upon scheduling.
Not exactly timely with their phone call appts either, they are very brief and hardly on time.
Nothing done with any efficiency, typically with some frustration, but it gets done usually.
You have full access to the patient portal and can handle refills, appointments, messages, and pharmacy changes yourself — most of our long-term patients use it exclusively because it's much faster.
We are far more accommodating than most psychiatry practices, often running at most one day behind. The level of anger in this review over minor delays is not proportional to the actual inconvenience. We provide quality care, not 24/7 instant gratification.
If you’re unable to use the portal or accept normal wait times, telehealth may not be the right fit for you..

Hilary Ortega is the worst Doctor I've ever had the displeasure of working with.
She was very late or missed EVERY SINGLE APPOINTMENT I had. Unreal.
When I had concerns, like when my medication was denied coverage from my insurance carrier. I would reach out to this Doctor. She never returned calls or even fixed the medication issue. So I was forced to come off of a medication suddenly, leading to extreme mental and physical distress.
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU VALUE YOUR MENTAL HEALTH.
If I could take legal action I would.
She needs to be fired, borderline malpractice and she is a major liability to your company.
It seems many of the other reviewers agree and have had similar experiences.
This review appears to be fabricated. We have zero record of you as a patient — no appointments, no calls, no messages. Claiming we missed 'every single appointment' when you were never scheduled is simply false. If this is a real complaint, provide your actual information so we can address it

Very accessible with convenience of telehealth. Very fortunate for the services and caring, responsive staff!
My experience overall has been mixed with NewAge, but after my session yesterday, I can't in good conscience recommend their services. Both sessions, Hillary has been late, and in my session yesterday, she was about 50 minutes late, while I try not use that against a smaller business, I figured it should be noted, as it's happened twice now, and I've seen other reviews mention this.
During our session It was hard getting any information towards the type of treatment I wanted, and really getting Hillary to listen was hard. It was annoying trying to ask about the meds i was interested in and getting told " they don't work" over and over . Frankly, it was disheartening to hear how quickly there was a dismissal of my needs as the stimulants Hillary wanted to push, I had mixed experiences with, and did not want to take.
I also found that it didn't help that, for a good chunk of our appointment, Hillary kept referring to cardiovascular issues I did not have and speculating on them. I found this was rather inappropriate, and talking with another psychiatrist today, they said so themselves, this was the case as I had no personal history of such issues. Our meeting wasn't in person, and to go off a call where she cant see me or check my heart It felt like an extreme jump for what I was trying to describe to Hillary. My new psychiatrist & pcp agreed that they jumped the gun on this.
Furthermore, I was also given questionable information about certain stimulants (Adderall) and their manufacturing, and after referring this to another psychiatrist and a pharmacist, I found that the information given wasn't inherently correct. I'd recommend checking in with your pharmacist about any information this office provides you about medicine. Everyone i spoke to after my meeting advised against what was told to me by Hillary.
The overall experience was anxiety-inducing I recommend booking elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend new age as a part of your healing journey.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely value patient perspectives, even when the experience did not meet expectations.
While we cannot discuss any individual’s protected health information in a public forum, we can clarify a few general points about how our practice operates.
In many cases, patients request specific medications during their visit. When that occurs, our role as clinicians is to provide thorough education about the risks, benefits, and potential side effects of any treatment option being considered. For stimulant medications in particular, one of the primary risks we are required to review involves cardiovascular effects — including elevated heart rate and blood pressure. These risks can become more significant during exercise or when combined with substances such as caffeine. Providing this information is part of responsible prescribing and informed consent, not speculation about a diagnosis.
Regarding medication selection, we do not “push” medications. Our goal is to collaborate with patients while also using clinical judgment and evidence-based guidelines. If a medication is discussed as less ideal, it is typically based on safety considerations, response history, or clinical standards of care.
As for manufacturers, there are indeed multiple generic manufacturers for many medications. While generics are required to meet FDA standards for bioequivalence, different manufacturers may use different inactive ingredients, production facilities, and processes. Variability between generics is something pharmacists and prescribers are aware of, and it can sometimes affect how patients perceive a medication’s consistency.
In regard to appointment timing, in healthcare settings — including both small practices and larger medical offices — there are occasions when earlier visits run longer than expected due to complex patient needs. While that does not minimize the inconvenience, it is sometimes an unavoidable part of providing thorough care. We are continually working to improve scheduling efficiency.
We are sorry to hear that the experience felt anxiety-inducing. That is never our intention. We wish you the best in your continued care and hope you find a treatment provider that feels like the right fit for you.

I entered HIPAA protected info into their website along with my credit card info and the "doctor" did not show. Who knows where my information went.
I will be filing a BBB report tomorrow. The negative reviews are clearly being taken down.
Do not use or trust this company.
We want to address the comment regarding review activity. When multiple reviews appear that contain similar language or patterns, it may raise concern that they are coming from the same individual or someone closely associated with a prior patient. We welcome honest and constructive feedback; however, we do take accuracy and fairness seriously. Reviews that appear misleading or not reflective of actual clinical interactions are reviewed carefully to ensure the integrity of our practice and our patient community.
Additionally, there was no record of this appointment being formally confirmed. In our practice, appointments are only finalized once required intake forms are completed and payment information is successfully processed. If a card is declined or documentation is not submitted, the visit is not considered confirmed. This is a standard policy designed to ensure fairness, consistency, and proper scheduling for all patients.

Terrible answering service
And I had to pay $249 or they wouldn’t see me. I told him I have insurance he said oh it doesn’t matter. I still have to pay this. They didn’t even ask for my insurance or nothing so it’s giving scam.

New Age Psychiatry has been a life saver for me. The people here actually care and listen, which is hard to find these days. They helped me get my anxiety and ADHD under control when nothing else worked. The appointments are easy to do online and they always get back to me fast. You can tell they really know what they’re doing and want to help. I’m super thankful I found them. Highly recommend if you’ve been struggling or just tired of getting brushed off by other places.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Truly Transformative Care at New Age Psychiatry
I can’t say enough good things about my experience with New Age Psychiatry. From the moment I reached out, I felt heard, respected, and supported. The team combines genuine compassion with cutting-edge psychiatric care — a rare balance that makes a real difference.
The providers take the time to listen and tailor treatment to each person’s unique needs, rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach. Their holistic and modern perspective on mental health has helped me make meaningful progress where other clinics fell short. Communication is seamless, appointments are easy to schedule, and the entire atmosphere feels welcoming and judgment-free.
If you’re looking for thoughtful, professional, and forward-thinking mental health care, New Age Psychiatry is the place to go. I finally feel like I’m in good hands.
I was told over the phone I was scheduling a 1pm appointment. They instead confirmed a 2pm appointment and the phone number won’t even work for me to cancel it.
Thank you for clarifying the phone issue we have had some trouble with Vonage. As far as the appointment goes if you do not do any forms the appointment is automatically cancelled but still welcome to complete and let myself and our team rectify the situation by providing comprehensive care.
Appreciate the feedback

This is the most poorly ran office I’ve EVER encountered. They will take money from your account but not call in medications, they ignore calls, they ignore texts, and even ignore messages in the portal. I’ve been trying to reach them for five days to refill my daughter meds but nope. They won’t return any correspondences, but sure take that money. She’s out of her medication and they could literally care less. If it didn’t have private information I would upload an image showing the texts they’re ignored for five days when the are receiving the messages. Save your money, time, and frustration, go elsewhere where, we sure are.
Hello Jennifer unfortunately the SMS is disabled now we are speaking with support we are doing call backs now please give us a call to discuss accommodations.

Many moons ago I was introduced to this company by a friend. And all I can say is for the past few years even though i’ve been inconsistent, this company has not. Every time I’ve needed assistance getting back on track New Age has been right by my side. The customer service is unmatched and the selection of doctors just continues to get better. From digital appointments to in person visits, New Age has never let me down. Grateful to have such a supportive team throughout the years
Stay away from this place. I used their telehealth services with Hilary Ortega and she processed my 99.99 payment for med refills. I did not receive the refills 5 days later. This has happened more than once but I will not be using their services anymore. I have asked for a refund and they have been giving me the run around.
