The doctor did an outstanding job. Very little pain after surgery and recovery has gone well. Almost back to normal 4 months after fusion surgery! Much better than expected and my pain is virtually gone

Dr. VanSickle and his staff are amazing and caring! They treat you with respect and don’t pressure you into anything.
They take the time to explain everything and ensure you are educated and comfortable with your choice and what happens in surgery. I never once felt rushed or like I was just another number to them. They are absolutely amazing!
Not only do they know how to treat people but they also know how to educate you before your surgery and help you with nutrition so you are set up for success! So much so that when my husband had surgery a week after mine he followed the same regimen and it helped him in his recovery too!
You know how most doctors say call us if you need us and then you’re lucky to get them to answer or call back right away? Not this team! They were there every time I needed them and called to check on me regularly! Amazing these days!
I had realistic expectations on surgery and care and I’m still healing but their support and care for me are clear and have exceeded my expectations at every turn.
I am thankful for them and will only see them if I ever need anything else done! They have gotten me out of the debilitating pain I was in and given me a chance to live again!

Randy met Dr. Van Sickle at a seminar In Pueblo in 2009. At that time, DBS was very new, but it was enlightening. Randy had termers that affected his mobility in both upper and lower extremities. It was hard for him to hold his pen for writing. He was an accountant, rancher/farmer, so it was debilitating for him not to be able to drive safely or write legible. Today, it is hard to remember how unbalanced he was. In 2010 the DBS was placed. It was transforming. He continued working, rocked and played with grandkids, he was so liberated. For the next 12 years, he was fully engaged in his family, work, and life in general. He retired in 2006, but still worked with cattle. We never missed any family functions, kids and grandkids activities. We traveled to all the rodeos, kids baseball, football, basketball, volleyball games. Randy got to see state championships, saddles won, and his grand-daughter get accepted to D-1 for Volleyball. DBS gave us this. DBS is safe, easy, and life giving. We were so blessed. After 12 years, other issues happened, and life was taken, but Randy, at 76, was vibrant. Thank you Dr. Van Sickle and staff!

I suffered from a herniated disc L-4 L-5 for nine months. I was in pain management for more than six months. Nothing helped my condition. I was referred to a neurosurgeon for possible surgery. He refused to perform the surgery stating that he felt that it would only be 50% effective due to my age. He said he was referring me back to pain management. I decided to get a 2nd opinion. Doctor Vansickle was recommended to me. During my appointment Doctor Vansickle and his staff displayed great empathy for my condition. He stated he could repair the damage with surgery. There was no mention of my age being a factor. It's now been two months since my surgery and all my pain is gone. I can't thank Dr Vansickle, His PA Laine Housand, and all the staff enough for helping me return to an active life. Best Medical team I have ever experienced.

I had a lot of spine damage in my neck. C3 to C7 in November 2019 Dr. Vanscikle repaired and rebuilded my C4-C7 and he did a wonderful job, my pain is gone. Fast forward to 2022 and my C3 is damaged once again he saved me.

I was in a very bad car accident 3 weeks ago and have multiple injuries including a bad spine injury.
I went to my first appointment with Dr Vansickle yesterday and I was absolutely pleased with his overall demeanor and he explained the surgery in-depth to me and he put my mind at ease about the surgery!
I absolutely recommend Dr Vansickle to anyone who is in need of Neurosurgery!

I had deep brain stimulation surgery back in March. Dr. VanSickle was my surgeon. I had the surgery to treat my tremors. My tremors are almost 100% gone!
I am very excited and pleased with the outcome!
If I had it to do over again I would do it in a second.
I am very pleased with Dr. VanSickle. He is very nice and answered all of my questions and concerns.

Dr. Van Sickle was a miracle worker for me. He has a fabulous staff that is friendly and efficient.
I had severe hydrocephalus caused by a TBI received in a traffic accident in 1990. I suffered with the effects of this for twenty-five years before I was finally referred to Dr. Van Sickle. He diagnosed my problem and surgically implanted a ventricular shunt to drain off excess spinal fluid. The very day after the surgery I was a new man and have been perfectly healthy for six years after the surgery. I highly recommend him to anyone. Great Doctor.

I had DBS done by Dr. VanSickle in December 2018 for Parkinson's. He has changed my life tremendously! I went from using a walker and a wheelchair to being able to do things with my grandkids that we've enjoyed doing in the past. I've also struggled with other health issues and Dr. VanSickle took the time to work with my doctor's to help my family and I feel more comfortable. He is very caring, kind and passionate in what he does. Thank you Dr VanSickle for all you have done and thank you God for bringing him Into our lives!

This is the man to see if you have Essential Tremor or Parkinsons. I first met Dr. VanSIckle in 2018. In 2019 I had Digital Brain Stimulus installed with the idea to have better quality of life. I wanted to reduce my medications first and foremost. He is a very talented bio-med surgeon. I was asleep during the 1st procedure in order to be exact when installing the leads. He was accommodating when I had the generators installed, as I am an avid bird hunter and didn't want the generators disturbed. After programming of the DBS system I immediately felt better, regained the use of my left hand, tremors stopped and got my voice back. I had struggled for months with a hoarse voice. My wife had surgery, chemotherapy and radiation at the same time, and his office was able to accommodate the scheduling of both of us. I am very fortunate to have found Dr. VanSickle and his team who are outstanding in their medical field. We need more like him. Dorsey Johnson

UPDATE - I had some issues come up from my surgery that were the leftovers from a surgery that I had some time back. I was able to work with this office and get everything taken care of !! It was an unexpected twist, but this office helped me to make it right. I am still so thankful for this office and all of the wonderful staff - thank you again so much for all that you do !!! :) :) :)

Dr Vansickle was the first surgeon my husband and I met with when I was searching for the right one to perform a spinal Laminectomy. We both liked Dr Vansickle immediately and actually wanted to hire him at our first meeting, but we felt we needed to at least look at one more before making the decision. Once we decided on Dr Vansickle, We found the process very easy. The staff at South Denver Neurosurgery was fantastic! From the front desk to the PA to Dr Vansickle, we received excellent service. Littleton Hospital also has a great staff and we didn’t feel like we got lost in the shuffle. Even the post op care was exceptional. There were a couple times while we were out of town that we had to call in for an issue or two. We were attended to immediately over the phone. When in town with an issue I was seen the same day. I highly recommend this practice. You will not be sorry. Thank you Dr Vansickle and all the staff at South Denver Neurology and Littleton Hospital for making it possible for me to regain my active lifestyle!
