I am a retired Peace Officer and Veteran. I was injured back in 97 and have struggled to keep going. When I met Dr. Bohnen I was at my lowest point in my life. My wife of 27 years had just passed and I had struggled to get free of Oxytocin and the after effects of being cut off. Dr. Bohnen did something that most doctors can't seem to do, she just listened. I would go to the ends of the earth just to have her as my doctor. A special shout out to Dr. Peragine who is a fantastic doctor who takes good care of his patients as well. I can't praise Neurosurgery one enough. They truly saved my life.

I tried to call and schedule an appointment, but the experience was so terrible that I ended up asking my doctor to refer me elsewhere. The woman at the front desk, Sue, was unbelievably rude. She interrupted me repeatedly, spoke to me with an attitude, and at one point even said, “The doctor definitely won’t want to deal with you.” I was shocked and honestly really upset by the way I was treated.

I have loved my medical team throughout the entire course of my treatment. They are stellar with customer service and I would absolutely recommend any of their providers. However, Sue at the front desk is god awful and cold. She doesn’t make you feel welcome nor does she make it sounds like she cares; which in turn makes me not feel like she’s not willing to help me. She is extremely rude on the phone and will cut you off mid-sentence when she was the one who asked you for the reason of the call. It’s frustrating to deal with someone who is so rude and disrespectful, especially when you’re in pain and just returning a phone call to get answers on next steps.
What a find!! Ali Lohmann, CMA is not only a caring, smart young women, but she is happy to speak to patients on the phone. My husband J Bessinger recently had surgery under Dr. Prall, and Ali also invited my husband to come by the office to help him navigate and to understand using the patient portal. This young woman is a gift at Neurosurgery One. She truly cares about the patient and is so pleasant. Wow!

Calling in to Neuro one is possibly the worst customer service I’ve experienced in any medical place ever. On the my chart app I Often times don’t get responses to questions. Also When I ask for someone to call me because I’m experiencing a new pain and I have questions I usually don’t get a response and there’s been many times where the question is skipped over and they just say go to an emergency room. Theres only one operator that answers the phone that isn’t completely rude and sounds irritated that they have to talk to someone. I had a cervical surgery and things only got worse and haven’t changed which I understand time can be a part of the process but I apparently haven’t healed quick enough because I feel like I’ve become unimportant and almost feels like my “team” is annoyed that I haven’t gotten any better and and that I still need help. Losing almost complete range of motion of my neck and having severe pain in my neck and shoulders and still having sharp nerve pain is already hard enough to deal with, the last thing I need is for the people who are supposed to help make things more difficult

I was a potential patient at this clinic after an acquaintance described his success with Dr. Prall. I had my primary care doctor send a referral for me, which he did same day. I called Neurosurgery One multiple times over about a week to schedule an appointment, but was told that another team had to physically pick up my referral off the fax machine and make a chart for me before they could even consider scheduling an appointment. During this time, they also couldn't give me an odea of what the wait time would be once the referral goes through. After 5 days of this, I gave up and went to Colorado Brain and Spine Institute. Dr. Elliott squeezed me into his schedule for a consult on the next business day and within a week, I had surgery scheduled for 3 weeks out.
A week and a half after my referral, Neurosurgery One finally called me and I told them I was going with a different provider. I understand that these doctors are in high-demand. But the way they process referrals is the worst I've ever seen.
To other patients with urgent needs waiting for a response from this clinic for an initial consult, I highly recommend Dr. Elliott at Colorado Brain and Spine Institute.

Dr. Bohnen preformed a craniotomy to remove a brain tumor in my temporal lobe. From our first appointment, we felt her confidence and compassion for helping her patients. We always felt important and never rushed during our visits and this remains consistent through recovery. Dr. Bohnen and her team made an extremely difficult time for my husband and I bearable and gave us optimism and positivity to focus on.

Dr. VanSickle is a true genius. He and all his staff are amazing. My father was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2013. He was slowly going down hill. I was determined to do whatever I needed to do to make him better. After a lot of prayer and research, I came across Dr. VanSickle. After reading his bio and watching all the videos he did, I was determined to have my dad see him. Deep Brain Stimulation was the best thing my dad ever did. Dr. VanSickle preformed DBS on my dad and let me just say it was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. If anyone you know has Parkinson's please, see Dr VanSickle. Educate yourself by watching all his videos and do the research on him. He has literally changed not only my dad's quality of life, but all of us around him. I am so confident in Dr VanSickle and his staff that now my mom is also one of his patients. But I put all my trust in Dr. VanSickle and his staff. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Dr. Prall is an amazing doctor. He is so thorough and comforting with his explanations of things. He takes all the time you need to make sure all of your questions and concerns are addressed, never seems to be in a hurry to leave the appointment. He truly makes you feel like you are all that matters at that time. My surgery was a success and I would absolutely see Dr. Prall again if ever needed. I would highly recommend him to anyone. The P.A.’s in the office are also excellent and Donna, his scheduler is super nice and helpful also. I’m so glad I found Dr. Prall.

I was referred to Dr Prall after more than 5 years of suffering agony untold from trigeminal neuralgia. My condition finally reached the point where all the debilitating but necessary medications no longer stoped the pain and I was extremely sick from all of them. My neurologist then referred me to Dr Prall. The day I went for my consult I was in such agony I could not speak and was reduced to writing on a tablet. Nonetheless, we had a very workable interview and settled on the best option for me, microvascular decompression. He handled me as an emergency and within one week I was in the hospital for the surgery. His staff were excellent and really fought to make this happen quickly for me. His anesthesiologist was most excellent and gave me a great comfort before the surgery. I woke up pain-free! His PA Chris, whom I saw for my follow-up visit, was kind, professional, and deeply understood exactly what I was going through. He helped me tremendously to get back on my feet. Dr Prall saved my life because I was at the end of my rope.
