Beautiful day on top of Pilatus Wonderful day with Madeline and Zoey on the Golden Circle tour. My teen boys were very engaged on all parts of the trip, from the bus to the hike and up to the highest point on Pilatus then onto the cog wheel train and ending on the lake steamer. Loved it all!

Knowledgeable and Authentic tour Despite the pouring rain, Amalia was amazing. She had a diverse wealth of knowledge about Lucerne and Switzerland. She added a personal touch to the tour by sharing her own experiences. It was the perfect combination of local knowledge and popular attractions.

See Switzerland by ECHO Rail Andrea and his crew put together a seamless 9 day rail tour through Switzerland. The natural beauty is best enjoyed by rail. 2 nights at each hotel was perfect to get a feel for the area. I especially appreciated the opportunity for some extended hikes. Lodging was very good to great. The unusual heat wave had only a minimal impact on our trip. Our guide Thomas was excellent- presenting a good mix of history and culture while injecting some humor.

All aboard to the best window of the Swiss Alps! This was our third time visiting breathtaking Switzerland ! We could again explore the majestic Alps, stunning waterfalls, glaciers, beautiful small unique towns, and cities and all…..without lugging around our suitcases. What beauty Switzerland has to offer and Echo Rails &Tails helped with that! How wonderful to have a knowledgeable guide with you at all times and we were so fortunate to have Leo. He figured out the route logistics, schedules of hotels, trains, buses, trams, funiculars, boats, and cable cars to our various destinations. But many days after touring on trains, we had afternoon freedom to hike or explore on our own. We loved also being part of a small group experience. Switzerland cannot be captured in words or photographs. The 13 day itinerary was packed full of all major attractions, such as Zurich, Lucerne, Mt. Rigi, Mt. Pilatus, Jungfraujoch, Glacier Express to St. Mortiz and the Matterhorn in Zermatt, just to name a few. It was an amazing experience that will remain in our memories forever! Amazing 1st time Switzerland trip. Echo Rail Tours was an excellent experience. Our born and raised Swiss guide, Thomas, provided historical and informative information but made us laugh hourly. For anyone who wants to see the best of Switzerland travel modes we experienced mass transit trains, funiculars, cable cars, gondolas, cogwheel trains and lake cruises! We stayed in lovely hotels with beautiful views and ate Swiss meals throughout. The highlights for us were seeing the Matterhorn for 2 days and the Alps. Trip of a lifetime for us. We highly recommend.

Great guided hike We had a knowledgeable and friendly guide (Leo) and the scenery of Lake Walen area was beautiful. Hike topped off by a boat ride across the lake.

Highly recommend this tour! We had a great time on this tour. Leo was our guide and he was very knowledgeable about the city. The chocolate tasting was fun but I really enjoyed learning about the history of the city.

100 % recommended tour with guide Amalia Amalia is a wonderful guide , very knowledgeable and patient . She made our tour memorable . It is 100% recommended to take this tour and get feel of swiss village , walking in village with lot of fresh air , taste farm fresh cheese, strawberry and juice .regards,Vikas

Highly Recommended Lite Hike and Mountain Experience We took the William Tell - Seelisberg to Bauen experience which was much more than the fable of William Tell. We loved our guide Madeleine Forrer, who was very knowledgeable and experienced, and thoroughly enjoyed our hike, the beautiful views, abundant wildlife, lovely stop for lunch, and the boat ride back to Lucerne. Our group ranged in age from 65 to 72 and Madeleine paced it perfectly and made it a wonderful walk in the mountains.

Wonderful day trip from Zurich Gina Emmenger gave our family (adult children) a wonderful day hiking at Lake Walensee, adjusting the distance and speed to fit our group, providing warm and friendly guiding, packing a delicious traditional Swiss picnic for us to eat on the shore and bringing towels so we could have a swim in the lake. It was a perfect day - a real highlight of our trip.

55th Anniversary Celebration What a trip! The scenery was fabulous, the food was delicious, our fellow travelers were lovely and, most importantly, our guides Monika and Thomas were wonderful. They went above and beyond to give my husband and me the most wonderful trip. Speaking as a mobility challenged senior (I walk with a cane), I so appreciate the fact that they went out of their way to accommodate my special needs. I could not recommend this adventure more.

Amazing hiking experience Highly recommend this hiking tour!! Roman was a great guide and really personalized the hike to what we wanted to do/see! Definitely the highlight of our trip in Lucerne with stunning views!!

I highly recommend the private Matterhorn tour with Peter. Peter was a fantastic guide and I would highly recommend this tour. He brought us to a lovely restaurant with an amazing view of the Matterhorn.

Magical 8 day self guided Swiss alps hike This self guided Swiss alps hike was perfectly laid out for four women over 60 who wanted the opportunity to hike with flexibility based on weather. The first hike was a guided hike and was the perfect way to learn how to navigate the trains, trams, weather, and the trails. We had a fabulous guide in Livia, who shared her knowledge but gave us the freedom to pick our pace and learn the ropes, in a fun way, even with an impending thunderstorm on the horizon! She gave us the perfect start and confidence to be able to navigate the next 7 days on our own. We hiked from Lucerne to Grindelwald, hiked two days in Zermatt and then 2 days in St Moritz which gave us a great overview of what the Swiss Alps offers those who love adventure! Echo tours laid out a perfect tour and we would highly recommend Livia as a Guide! A special 8 days and we will be back for more adventures!

A Sweet and Savory Stroll Through Lucerne – Walter Was Incredible! We had the absolute pleasure of joining a cheese and chocolate tasting walking tour in Lucerne, and it exceeded every expectation — thanks especially to our phenomenal guide, Walter.From the very beginning, Walter set the tone with his warmth, humor, and deep love for the city. He brought Lucerne’s history and culture to life as we wandered through cobblestone streets and scenic bridges, stopping at hidden gems we would’ve never found on our own.The cheese and chocolate tastings were thoughtfully selected, offering an authentic taste of Switzerland’s best. WOW! AMAZING! Highly recommend! This 13 Day Rail Tour had to be the most amazing and memorable experiences of all my trips!First class hotels,trains and restaurants where we had the opportunity to try local foods. Luggage transfers were definitely a plus! A small touring group allowed us to become an Echo close knit, lively and friendly group. But besides the breathtaking mountains, amazing scenery, and incredible Falls, our Guides made the trip exceptional! Andrea, Grazia, and Thomas were fun, energetic, and had a great sense of humor. They provided interesting information unique to where we were visiting. In addition, they provided the opportunity for optional hikes. Andrea is a master in calmly addressing glitches with Plan B’s and provided some additional amazing experiences.We always felt well taken care with the morning meetings as to the itinerary of the day and the nightly information as to weather, changes, etc. No stress on this vacation!He has the ability to really know his group members! OK, I have to admit I did have a few moments of stress in going on gondolas BUT Andrea’s support and that of our group alleviated my fear and now I am a seasoned gondola rider ,I could go on and on about why to go on this trip with ECHO! Afternoon walking tour and chocolate tastings. - Lou was an excellent guide! First visit to Lucern and we scheduled a private walking tour of Old Town as well as 2 local chocolate tastings. Lou was our guide and she was amazing! She was very knowledge and was able to provide extra commentary on other places for us to visit while on our own in the city. Lou - thank you for a wonderful afternoon filled with a history of Lucern and delicious local chocolates!

The best tour ever and a great guide I have been on many tours, but this 13 day tour of Switzerland was the best tour ever, I would recommend anyone wanting a first class experience to go with Echo rails and trails, it was beyond what I was expecting. I do plan to go on Echo rails and trails in the near future. My wife and I had a great time and the food was deliciously good. Andrea was very informative along with Grazia and Thomas.

Great railway trip around Switzerland with ECHO Trains A lively and energetic tour based on Switzerland's marvelous trains. We enjoyed watching the scenery while sitting in first class compartments on pristine trains that were always (ok, nearly always) on time with smooth connections and someone else took care of the luggage . A variety of other experiences spiced the trip. Our guides were always fun, informative, caring and had a Plan B. Highly recommended!!
