I had a very disappointing experience with Mossy Oak Fence Orlando.
I contacted them to get two quotes:
1. One to raise the gates, fence posts, and all gates off the ground to create clearance for new sod.
2. A second quote in case new posts were needed.
When the workers arrived for the first attempt, they did not raise the posts or any of the gates as requested. Instead, they cut the bottom of one of the gates to create clearance, which is not what we asked or paid for. When I tried to explain to the worker that this was not the agreed work, he began yelling in Spanish and dismissed me.
As a result, we were left with all gates damaged, including two gates that were badly damaged by their work.
I called the office and reported the issue. The manager, Zack, assured me he would make things right. We waited two weeks for a repair appointment. We were given a Saturday window between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, so we canceled all our plans for the day. No one showed up. No call. No email. Nothing.
After 10–15 phone calls (not exaggerating), I finally reached Zack again by calling from a different phone number, because once they recognize your number, they seem to avoid your calls. Again, I received promises that the situation would be fixed.
On the second attempt, a worker came out and once again did not do what was requested. Instead of raising the posts and all gates off the ground, he started doing his own thing, damaged the gates even further, and did not even bring all the parts needed to complete the job.
At that point my husband got involved and told them we no longer wanted to do business with them, since every worker sent out seemed to have their own agenda instead of doing the work we requested and paid for.
We were later emailed a receipt stating that a refund would be processed within 5–7 business days, but we are still waiting for that refund. I have documentation of the email confirming it.
In my opinion, the office staff make promises they do not keep and avoid calls once they realize who you are. This experience has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional.
I have already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and this matter is still ongoing.
I would strongly caution others before doing business with this company.

Our experience with Mossy Oak Fence raises serious concerns about billing practices, accountability, and financial handling. We signed and agreement in Jul and until today, Cathleen McCarthy is unreachable.
Mossy Oak owed us a refund of $8,066. After weeks of follow-ups and increasing difficulty reaching anyone at the company, a refund check was issued on November 26. When deposited, the check was returned because Mossy Oak had placed a stop payment on it. To date, no refund has been received.
We were repeatedly directed to the company’s finance contact, Cathleen McCarty, but after initial communication, she became unreachable. Multiple emails and phone calls over several weeks went unanswered, and no explanation was provided for the stopped payment or the outstanding refund. Employees we previously worked with no longer appear to be with the company, and communication has effectively collapsed.
Due to the lack of resolution and ongoing silence, we have already proceeded with a credit card dispute to protect ourselves. The combination of an unfulfilled refund obligation, issuance of a stopped-payment check, lack of communication, and the need to involve our bank to get a refund presents a level of financial risk that prospective customers should take very seriously. We strongly caution others to be extremely careful with the business practices of this company and to protect themselves from similar exposure.
I was initially hesitant to use this company due to other reviews however Marlon was consistent in communication and they offered a competitive price so I gave them a go. I am so so so glad I did! The fence turned out amazing!! I got a custom wooden board-on-board fence, double capped with 6x6 posts and 2x6 rails with arched gates. It only took them 2 days to install on our sloped yard. It is beautiful- even the city inspector mentioned he hadn’t seen such a nice fence in a while. I pulled the permit myself which was quite easy and Mossy was able to help me with it. Marlon even went a step above and beyond and helped me drop off the NOC since the office was far away. I would highly recommend them, especially for a beautiful custom wooden fence! Thank you Marlon and Mossy Oak
I recently had an experience with Mossy Oak Fencing that left me quite disappointed, especially in terms of communication. I interacted with Cathleen, who was unfortunately out sick for a week, which is understandable. However, when she returned, I was told to disregard everything I had been previously informed and essentially blamed for the miscommunication.
I felt that this approach was quite unprofessional. While I understand that unexpected issues happen, I do believe that communication with clients should be handled more respectfully.
In the end, I chose to go in a different direction with my project. I hope Mossy Oak can improve on their customer service and communication in the future.
Had my fence done and it was done really well by the guys who did it. It looks beautiful.
Pros:
-once they finally started the fence they were done quickly.
-Price was fair
Cons:
-the office workers take a long time to respond and there isn't much communication on time lines.
- I had to send in some paperwork for my permit to be pulled. The lady I emailed no longer worked there (fired maybe) and no one told me or reached out to me so if I didnt call I probably still wouldn't have a fence.
- Cathleen was not customer service oriented on the phone.
Overall the quality of the fence and the workers themselves is great. But between miscommunication, long waits with no follow up, and feeling like they are just rushing to get paid and not help the customer feel like they care, I probably wont use them again.
I recently had my fence installed, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The entire process—from the initial consultation to the final installation—was smooth and professional. The crew was punctual, hardworking, and very respectful of my property. They paid great attention to detail and made sure everything was done perfectly. The finished fence looks amazing and has completely transformed my yard. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for quality work and outstanding service!
WARNING: DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! THEY CLAIM TO BE A CHRISTIAN FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS BUT THEY DON'T ACT LIKE CHRISTIANS!!! I paid a lot of money for new gates that did not work!!! In fact, the gates they installed warped in the sun!!! The company did not stand by their product!!! Their service was horrible!!! Some of the worst I've ever experienced!!! They didn't show up for appointments and would not return my calls when I tried to get someone to respond!!! Also, do not trust their salesman Ron... he is a snake oil salesman!!! DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!
Anyone considering Mossy Oak Fence — please read this first.
I’ve used this company twice. The first experience was good, but the second was a nightmare. I want to share an honest, detailed warning for anyone thinking about hiring them.
First Experience:
Great job, fair price, and handled professionally. That’s why I came back.
Second Experience:
From the start, things went downhill fast. The new salesman assumed I’d pay any price because of my neighborhood and quoted me several thousand dollars higher than necessary. When I called my previous salesman, Randy (who is honest and hardworking), he gave me a fair quote about $3K–$4K less. I signed, paid a 50% deposit (~$5K), and was told the fence would be done in a few weeks.
What Actually Happened:
- After 4 weeks, no communication at all. I left multiple voicemails and emails—no response. I finally had to reach out to Randy again to get a reply.
- The project manager promised the install date personally, then didn’t show up. Instead, workers arrived without speaking English and with a teenage helper. The city inspector shut the job down immediately because Mossy Oak never pulled a required permit.
- The company then told me I had to pull the permit myself — offering no help, no guidance, and giving me completely false information about how to get one. It took me nearly two months to figure it out on my own.
- After I finally got the permit and sent it in, they ignored my email again until I followed up.
They eventually finished the job, and the fence looks decent — but the process was full of dishonesty, lack of communication, and zero accountability. I never received a follow-up call or any offer to make things right, despite the delays, stress, and extra work I had to do because of them.
Bottom Line:
Randy is a good salesman, and the installers were polite, but the company itself is poorly managed, dishonest, and provides terrible customer service. They do not pull permits or assist you if there are issues with the city. If you hire Mossy Oak, understand that you’re taking a big risk — and once they have your deposit, and the city finds out they are putting up fences without pulling a permit, you’ll be on your own.
I’m leaving this review, so others know exactly what to expect.
I got a fence with mossy oak 5 years ago and it is still beautifully holding up. A picket was damaged recently and they were kind enough to help me figure it out. Shout out to Marlon with Mossy Oak. They were affordable and professional five years ago and still are today. Thanks Mossy Oak Fence!
Mossy Fence was a great company to work with. Short wait and a great job. Would Recomend 100% . Thank you!
Quality job good price fast service all what you need… 👊
Thank you
I truly tried to hold on from writing this review, but after months of waiting for them to come out to fix the issues after being told that they would send somebody out by Brandy in their office. She now does not reply to my emails. The fencing installed was OK, especially for being charged over $6000 for it, but the shoddy work that was done at the doors cannot be understated, the way the door was cut and put together. Plus, all the caps for the doors have disappeared, and one of the doors they installed. It’s sagging and doesn’t close properly. Again, I was told they were going to come out to correct these issues, and nothing. Radio silence for months. This is why I held out to write this review, hoping that somebody would come out and fix the issues, but still nothing. I would really consider other options before going with them first. It’s my fault I made the mistake of going with their estimate instead of getting a couple more because I felt like they had a good reputation.
Please do yourself a favor and look at the negative reviews on Yelp, Better Business Bureau (which they ignore), and their Orlando location as well. They exhibit poor workmanship, extremely poor communication, and no support for warranty claims. We used them based on reputation, but they are clearly no longer the company they once were.
Awesome! Very professional! I love my new fence!!
