I had a great pyrography taster session. Karen is a really good instructor (and artist) and took time to not only help me with the technique but also the image I was creating.

Loved visiting Karen at Misty Ceramics during the recent open studio event. It was my second visit to look around the wonderfully unique coastal inspired creations - I couldn’t resist buying a set of lovely deep blue heart shaped trinket dishes 💙 Thoroughly recommended if looking for a special gift!

A thoroughly enjoyable time learning the basics of pyrography. Karen was patient and helpful, and added some very useful ideas on how to bring my project to life, including adding colour to the design which really made it zing.

I had a great afternoon at Misty Ceramics celebrating my friend's birthday and learning something totally different. Karen was a great teacher and a host - she gave us lots of ideas and let us get in with experimenting too. A really enjoyable afternoon and I thoroughly recommend it!

I had a wonderful afternoon with two friends learning pyrography. It was totally new to me and there was no need to be good at art or drawing to be able to produce a nice piece to take home. Karen had a lovely teaching style, offering encouragement and guidance rather than stepping in and 'doing it for you'. The afternoon workshop was excellent value for money and I'd love to do it again as it was really enjoyable. I've included a photo of the item I made to show what a complete beginner can achieve in a session.

I had the most wonderful day learning about hand built clay pottery with Karen at Misty Ceramics. It was such a peaceful day and the time just flew! It really opened my eyes to all the processes involved in making something from clay and has really whetted my appetite. I can't wait to return to collect my finished pot when Karen has finished glazing and firing it.
Highly recommended!

I spent a very happy 4 hours with Karen learning how to make pinch pots, slab pots, coiling and adding details to hand made pots. Karen is a great teacher and a lovely person making the whole experience a joy. My eventual pot awaits the kiln, so I am looking forward to seeing the end result! Thank you Karen!

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed a couple of hours in Karen’s lovely garden, finding out all about the fascinating technique of pyrography. Karen was a very patient, relaxing and inspirational teacher, who helped us to create our first pyrography pieces, which we proudly took home afterwards. It was so nice to try something a bit different in such an unstressed environment with such a lovely teacher, and I can thoroughly recommend the course to anyone - whether artistic or not.
