Another great stay overall. ☺ Love location, the ambience of the lovely old building and the grounds to walk round. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful. Our room was lovely as always. ☹ Only down side this visit was my husbands evening meal. His chicken dish was very dry and tasteless. Very disappointing.

Not great, but few alternatives in the area.. The inn, while pretty, was a bit of a disaster operationally. Staff very kind, but couldn’t overcome the service setbacks. Staff a bit confused. Lunch advertised in the bar at noon on Saturday and Sunday but I had to force the issue because they were serving a luncheon for conference in the dining room and the kitchen was but quite busy I pressed the issue and was served, but quite slow. Breakfast buffet meh. Lunch not available, and dinner service and room service from 6-9. Breakfast ends promptly at time advertised, and foods not replaced during the last hour of operation. Not many other choices available in the area, though. So, this is probably the best the area has to offer. Rainy, cool September stay found the rooms quite stuffy. Comfortable bedding, but comforter was too heavy for the season. The rooms were musty, as you may expect in an inn this age. Opening windows offered relief, but noisy crows were unpleasant for sleeping. Jacuzzi out of service for the first 3 days of my stay. Very stingy with towels. No phone in the room You must have a car as the roadways are quite treacherous for walking. No sidewalks.

Dissapointing When we first arrived all looked lovely friendly staff but we were given a map and key card for our room, so followed instructions and was very disappointed when we arrived at the complex we were staying in and saw no photos on line of this it was like a prison block grey building with lots of windows. We went up to our room and as we had a twin room booked noticed only one set of towels. Not one to complain but my mother is 81 and when we put TV on no subtitles either so rang reception about towels and TV nobody came up to room so called reception again someone came up but couldn't sort the telly out, also the jacuzzi was not working and the bedroom was really hot no air con so didn't sleep well and breakfast was not good either the sausages were awful. Wouldn't stay here again 🙁😢 ☺Cleanliness, staff & service ☹Property conditions & facilities, room comfort

Weekend getaway Very helpful staff, breakfast was fabulous. Room in block was lovely, however areas around need attention.pool and spa good, jucuzi was not working.overall very good value for money, this was our second stay and will definitely recommend and return. ☺Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort ☹Property conditions & facilities

Poor - the property needs some TLC ☺ The staff were very friendly - can’t fault them at all, they were very welcoming. I have attached pictures to substantiate the poor condition of the room, it is not modern at all - the paint job is not near and there are cracks on the ceiling. I appreciate it’s not a brand new building and therefore I didn’t expect for it to be in pristine condition, however the condition of our room just felt looked like no one was bothered to maintain it. Some other specifics: 1. One of the window handles was broken, couldn’t open it. 2. No air con in the room or fridge to keep drinks cool. 3. The carpet was so worn out that it was pretty much out of place and creating a trip hazard 4. We traveled with a 10 month old baby and was put on the highest floor (there is no lift access so had to drag buggy all the way up). 5. Pool facility was ok, but the Jacuzzi was out of order which was a real shame. 6. The main lights in the room were two (very dim) spotlights. One of the light switches was broken so we couldn’t tell you what light that was for.

Heerlijk hotel om tot rust te komen. ☺De ligging en de omgeving maar dat was ook gelijk de valkuil! Je moet hier echt een auto hebben want openbaar vervoer is waardeloos. De snelverbinding met Oxford was we super! ☹Er werd slecht opgeruimd bij het ontbijt en vaak moesten we zeggen dat de bakjes of de borden opwarmen. Ontbijt was erg Engels dus geen kaas en vleeswaren alleen worstjes!
