Debit card issues STOP SAYING THAT MY INFORMATION THAT I TYPE IN IS “INCORRECT” HOW DO I FIX THAT PROBLEM?!?!!

Mercari I’ve been using Mercari for a few years now to both buy and sell. It’s a great way to make a few bucks on stuff you don’t use or want anymore. If I were rating this app as just a seller, it would be 5 stars. As a buyer, the fees are outrageous. Once the TWO different fees and shipping are included, you end up spending at least $10 more on the list price. I think that Mercari ultimately should revise their additional fees because I have changed my mind on countless purchases because I couldn’t justify the end price. Other than that, I do love to shop on the app because you can really find some treasures.

Too much fee!! I will never buy anythings from Mercari again because of they added payment processing fees to buyers for example if I buy item of $350+$47 fees!! NO!!

One wish I do enjoy the website, but I get very annoyed that when I type in a specific thing I get that plus so much more I just am looking for the one thing not other things that would be my only complaint. Otherwise I’m quite happy with. It are generally good and people are generally helpful.

Returns haha Good luck trying to return something. You’ll deal with over seas representatives with major language barriers, not to mention your return claim will get passed around to minimum of 6 different representatives. They will deny your claim and send automated responses so that way Mercari does not lose money having to pay for 2 ways of shipping and refunding seller the funds. Also they will not let you appeal the claim, there is no upper management to speak to when such cases arise. Very disappointing. I’ve made over 40 purchases through Mercari, but one bad return situation caused me to not use this service anymore. If you experienced the same issue. Please remove your card information from your payment settings, then contact your financial institution and dispute the charge. Your financial institution will help more than Mercari .

The best selling app i have ever used. Just please add a dark mode. i’ve been using this app for over three years now, and it has still become the king of selling stuff for online marketplaces. The support team responds to you very quickly and as a seller, they are always trying to help you as a buyer you are protected as well. I’ve never felt safe for making a purchase or selling an item without a worry in my mind if ill ever get the money. Update: WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO RELEASE DARK MODE ITS 2024!!!

limited me for no reason 💀 i’ve been selling on mercari for about a year now & have filled out tax forms & verified my account successfully, however mercari still limited me & i am now unable to sell. they never gave me a reason for doing so & when i messaged them asking why there was no response. PLEASE RESPOND TO MY MESSAGES BRUH

FEES FEES FEEEEEEEES this app is just the worst now. they charge fees to BUY to SELL and if you want to CASH OUT!!!! How is it legal to charge fees on essentially the same product THREE TIMES?!??? For the record, it used to be FREE for a direct deposit of funds on your account, now it’s 2 bucks, 3 if you want it instantly. They can kick ROCKS!!!!

HORRIBLE APP Do not trust your money with this app. At any point in time they can limit your account for "unusual activity" even when you did absolutely nothing wrong and with a limited account you CANNOT pull your funds out and their customer service is almost non existent. I just basically "gave away" over $400 worth of perfume that I sold on the app after only having the app for less than a week. Edit... So they unrestricted my account...randomly. Nice right??? Well...it was nice up until the very end. I was using the app to sell a bunch of perfumes from my collection when they decided that my perfumes were suddenly "non authentic" which they were not and decided to close my account permanently and once again hold all my funds for 90 days and I'm never allowed to use Mecari ever again (not that I would even want to) and I'm literally just an innocent seller on the site and I have come across countless SCAMS on THEIR SITE that just don't get taken down. The customer service is horrible. The seller support is horrible. The overall experience was horrible and I honestly would not recommend this app do anyone!!!!

Not the best option for selling or buying…anymore Well, I’ve had a lot of success with selling on this app and I really thought it was great at first, once Mercari decided to shift fees from sellers to buyers. It was no longer the place to sell stuff anymore or even buy stuff these fees unfortunately made it very difficult for sellers because now you have to offer it at such an extremely low price that you don’t get any money in return as a seller, all because of the fact of the stupid buyers fees most ridiculous thing in the world. I used to love Mercari. Now I can’t sell anything because of the stupid buyers fees and because more people and sellers especially are getting off Mercari, and going elsewhere to like eBay. Because eBay does not charge buyers fees so unfortunately I don’t really have anything good to say about Mercari anymore because well they made this move and it’s ridiculous. I really wish they would reverse this action. I mean really come on I don’t mind paying sellers fees. But I think it’s ridiculous. The buyers have to pay buyers fees, so I can’t even recommend Mercari anymore because of this unless they reverse it then I’ll change my review but otherwise I’m giving them one star

Used to be good Added tons of fees and read between the lines. They changed a ton of policies which ripped me out $100 when I returned an item that was labeled incorrectly by the SELLER. Not buyer safe be wary….

good-ish for selling, more cons than pros pros: 1. lots of shipping options (including media mail) 2. no selling fees 3. my stuff tends to sell more often/for higher prices than comparable platforms 4. Good seller protection policy. I’ve had two lost packages/disputes (see cons) and both were automatically refunded to me and the buyer bc they were under $10 5. Bundle shipping is super affordable, not sure what they do exactly but I think mercari covers part of the overweight shipping on bundles? cons: 1. Full of wildly overpriced mall/department store brand clothes. at least on depop it’s easy to find CUTE (and unique) overpriced stuff. Make sure to reverse image search anything before you buy bc you’re probably getting ripped off 2. App is buggy - it takes forever to load photos, and it will delete letters as I’m typing from listings. And god forbid I walk from one room to another in my 600ft apartment and the wifi strength changes because it WILL crash 3. It has the rudest people on here fr. I got threatened and called a c*** by someone in a dm (and mercari did nothing even after I reported it) 4. It has the dumbest people on here fr. Someone opened a claim that they were sent the wrong package cuz they didn’t open the box (spoiler, their order was in the box) and mercari automatically refunded them. Do better, both of y’all 5. There’s a $2 ach fee to transfer your earnings to your bank, which feels wrong (especially with the reportedly sky-high buyer fees that replaced the selling fees) 6. When you promote a listing (basically lower the price but in a way that boosts it in the app’s algorithm), it doesn’t let you pick the new price (it just drops it 10%, and then I have to go in a manually change it again so it’s priced at a round dollar and not some random $2.63 or something) 7. Small and stupid con - the shipping labels won’t open in browser so I end up with a gajillion random shipping files on my pc hardrive

Sellers This would be a great sight if there was a way for sellers to stop ripping off shoppers. For instance, if there is an item that cost 20 in a store and a finders fee fee at least 10 to 15 and add the shipping. This would be fine. How ever this sight allows a person to price gouge an item. Example: $20 to 300. If a person walks into a store and says anything about reselling an item. The store will and can not sale that item to that person that is going to resale the item. Why can’t there be rule online for this. Shoppers should be protected too.

Everything arrives broken and they refuse to refund I’ve been using the app for a week. Both items I bought arrived broken. Mercari refused to refund. Said they needed more photos than the 6 I initially provided. I was not at home (I was at a funeral at the time) and so I explained I could provide soon, but not immediately, and my claim was quickly denied, and they have repeatedly blamed me. Seems like they just ask for documentation until you can’t provide so they have an excuse to deny claims. Avoid this app and service.
