Very nice service. Great staff. I have been going here for over 10 years and I appreciate that you get to know the staff and they know you. They are quick to respond to any concerns and try to find solutions for everyone involved. The doctors listen and address your concerns. I have recommended family and friends. I will continue going to Medex for my medical health. It is an office that I trust.
Doctors and NPs here very professional and experienced. But front desk customer services are horrible. My bloodwork results full name spelling was wrong, doctor called out but I did not receive voice message to reschedule appointment. After I arrived there, I was notified my appointment needed to be rescheduled.
I’ve been to this Clinic to see Dr Hortencia Garcia twice. The first time my appointment was at 11:00am, I was not seen until 2:30 pm. The doctor doesn’t have any empathy all all. I’m a very anxious person, and the way she explained to me my test results made me feel like I’m going to die. Also there
is no communication between the office and the doctor. I would not recommend this clinic at all.
If I can give 0 stars I would. Dr Hortencia Garcia saw my mother 2 times and it was nothing short of stress inducing. She completely lacks empathy and is extremely rude when discussing measures that my mother can take to improve her health. Patients need to be comfortable with their doctor, as well as be able to tell a practitioner their concerns. Dr. Garcia was completely dismissive of my mom’s concerns and even made her feel incompetent. My mother came home in tears after this appointment, and as her adult daughter I find that absolutely maddening and disgusting.
There is also no cohesiveness in this office. My mom’s osteoporosis medication was denied by healthfirst because of lack of further info from the provider. When the doctor looked at my mom’s profile and saw the letter, she got upset and called the nurse complain about why the letter should have not been there. I pray that this place eventually gets shut down. Perfect example of how healthcare is abysmal in this country.
I had the most fascinating experience (and I am being sarcastic) with this company that needs to be highlighted.
My mother has been a patient there for over 5 years and her doctor is one of the Workers' Compensation there. On 9/5/2025, my mom received a call from the office to let her know that this WC doctor will not available for her scheduled visit on 9/8/2025 and they had no idea when the doctor would return. The Lord so had it that I walked into the conversation that my mom was having with the customer service rep. and I asked my mom what about her medication. (You see, this doctor prescribes the medication my mom needs for her chronic back and leg pain.) My mom said that there was no mention of how her medication would be prescribed.
I called the doctor's office and was informed that this doctor is the only doctor in the facility that is able to prescribe the medication my mother needs! If anyone knows anything about Medex on Queens Boulevard, it is one of the busiest doctor's offices in this community. It was shocking to find out they have no other doctor that can prescribe this medication. I am quite sure that my mother is not the only patient who receives this medication so to be this unprepared as an medical institution was shocking.
The only solution that they could provide was that I have to go and find another doctor for my mom. My mom loves this particular doctor and it is heart rending that she will now have to go and search out another doctor to get her monthly check up and her medication.
I do hope that the owners of this medical institution would take the time and review their plan of action for situations such as this one. This is something that was foreseeable and to depend on one person to do this in an institution is certainly not a wise business practice.
I arrived on time and I was the second person on the list for my appointment with Sarah, NP, yet I still waited over an hour with no explanation. Despite this, patients who came after me were seen before me. When I asked the front desk guy, I was told that there were already 2 patients inside and that they prioritise people they know. I eventually had to cancel the appointment becoz the delay was unreasonable. This kind of favouritism and disregard to patient’s time is very unprofessional. VERY POOR TIME MANAGEMENT and lack of respect for patients’ schedules.
